If I could give zero stars

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Kogan Mobile has been a complete nightmare from start to finish.

All I wanted to do was a simple eSIM transfer to a new phone. What should have taken 10 minutes has turned into a 2-week ordeal that is still not resolved.

I have wasted hours of my personal time and thrown money down the drain dealing with their incompetence.

First, the eSIM transfer failed completely.

I paid for a new eSIM as instructed—that also failed.

Then, their support told me to go out and buy a physical SIM card. I did that, and they still couldn't get it to work.

I actually managed to get their support team on the phone, which is a miracle in itself, but they were useless. They explicitly admitted they "could not spot the issue." They have no idea how their own system works.

I am now leaving Kogan immediately. Do not be tempted by the cheap prices—you pay for it with your sanity. Kogan is a complete waste of time and money.

Pros: None. Cons: Incompetent support, faulty technology, wasted money, weeks of stress.

Don’t buy a Sim of them

The same wouldn’t work contacted customer care. I had a email reply from a woman called Nicky. She told me to prove it. It didn’t work. Couldn’t prove it because how do you prove that Sumit didn’t work and I still haven’t had a refund. I will never use Kogan again for anything.

I unfortunately bought a mobile phone…

I unfortunately bought a mobile phone through Kogan Mobile / Nu Mobile in September 2024 within seven weeks it started to play up and not work properly, I have been through hell with this grubby company DO NOT USE, they don’t have a complaints dept that helps, no phone number to talk and ignore you on these stupid ticket emails they send, 12 months of monthly payments for what!
I now don’t trust the Kogan brand and even got ignored from the founder of the company when I personally reached out to him,
It seems they only care about making money and getting good customer experiences.

TERRIBLE support

Just wanted to know what my data usage was for the last 12 months. Was told to fill out the privacy form with ONE NZ. The form wouldn't submit because my number is not registered with them, and was told to contact Kogan support. I must have been told 10+ times to fill the form, and would NOT accept that I simply couldn't submit it. They repeatedly wanted a screenshot of an error on a page that did nothing when I selected submit. I didn't get my data usage, so canned them and went elsewhere with a cheaper provider.

Terrific customer support

I accidentally deleted my original Kogan mobile phone number and changed mobile number when I recharged my 365 Day Flex plan. I contacted customer service, they explained the steps to reinstate my number which required remote ID. A straightforward process guided by a couple of phone calls to customer service. Terrific customer service helping a senior navigate the problems he self-created.

Located in Melbourne CBD

Located in Melbourne CBD. Had connection issues on the 20th floor and after a few calls, I determined I no longer wanted to proceed.

I honestly thought I'd have to go through a regulator to get this solved. Considering the low costs, I didn't expect to resolve it over the phone. After requesting a partial refund, I was successful. Shout out to Shailendre and Delfine for providing great care and service.

This a difficult service to use. Tech support sucks, not interested on actually being helpful, takes 5 minutes to verify me, then about 30 seconds to give me an excuse why my SMS message can not be sent, needless to say someone else's fault.

Don’t be misguided by their offer of…

Don’t be misguided by their offer of cheap service. Their service is really inferior cheap and useless I had a perfectly working service with ii net. Since Kogan, were running a promotion I made a foolish decision to switch from ii-net to Kogan. And I really regretted that decision in hindsight. It took them more than ten days to get my phone to work. They sent me a physical Sim in the mail. And I put that Sim in my phone. The iPhone 16 Pro Max. And the Sim didn’t work. They kept insisting that the port was completed. But my sim was faulty. The help Center were least helpful. Even after I did an ID verification at least five times it took more than nine days for the phone to start working. It was my business phone. And I lost a lot of customers and clients because no one was able to contact me at all. Please do not fall for their gimmicks of low prices and great value. It is better to choose any other provider that provides a reliable and efficient service and can deliver results but not Kogan. They just take your money in advance for a whole year and then do nothing about it. And since you have paid in advance for a year. You are stuck. I did the porting from ii net on Thursday morning 24/4/25 . And Friday was a public holiday. And the verification ID staff do not work on Saturday and Sunday. So the whole of Thursday was wasted. They didn’t do anything on Friday Saturday or Sunday and on Monday, it took endless amount of phone calls to get them to get my service to start. The service finally started properly on 2/5/25 And this was after I had already paid for the full year in advance. I will never ever choose Kogan or any of its product products again. The iPhone 16 pro max worked for a while and the sim failed again. E sim didn't work either. I am up the creek without a paddle. Left stranded in the lurch.

Kogan doesn’t need stars. They need a big black hole where they can completely disappear and never be seen again. A stigma on mobile phone companies. I’m switching back to my old provider and never choosing Kogan products ever again.

I had send several emails to verify@koganmobile. And. Apparently has fallen on deaf years and is languishing in spam that you guys dish out. I’m without a working phone for five days. You guys would make excellent politicians. Typical politicians who make promises and never deliver. Excuses after excuses for why my sim is faulty. Despite porting a perfectly working number from iinet. I’m yet to see any action on my mobile after five days

So remorseful after switching my service provider just to save a few dollars. Not worth the stress. I even purchased the voucher for the whole year thinking that I would not have to worry about mobile connections for the whole year but unfortunately some lessons are only learnt in hindsight. I wish other prospective clients would be aware of what a scam enterprise kogan is.

HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO GET A WORKING SIM CARD AND MOBILE CONNECTION. I’M USING A IPHONE 16 pro max My business is suffering as I get lots of clients on weekends and public holidays and I’m not able to contact anyone for five days. I Wish I never choose Kogan. I feel so stupid about this decision

Moral of the story: Yes Kogan is cheap,at what ? Are you willing to take that risk and pay the price.

Poor customer service

TL;DR: When Kogan works, it’s great. But when something goes wrong, their customer service is absolutely appalling. A phone company you can’t call? That says it all.

I’ve been a Kogan customer for years - bought plenty of their products and used their mobile service on and off, depending on my needs. Up until recently, everything had been smooth. But if something goes wrong, brace yourself: their customer service is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Let that sink in: a phone company that you can’t actually call. There’s no phone number, no escalation to a manager, and no real complaint resolution team. You’re left dealing with either a basic online chat or what seems like automated email replies that only seem to respond to keywords not the actual issue you're reporting.

I recently took up a EOYBOGOF SIM deal. After porting numbers, the service worked for a few hours - then I was completely disconnected the next day. No calls, no texts, no data. It took them a month to resolve it, and that was only after they sent me a third SIM card, which finally worked.

But the issues didn’t stop there. I’m now facing ongoing problems sending text messages. Despite a two-week-long email thread, the issue is still unresolved. They advised me to reset my APN settings to the ones listed on their website - which completely cut off my mobile network (no 5G, no signal, no texts, no nothing). I reverted back to the original APN that came with the SIM, and everything worked again - except I still can't send texts.

To make matters worse, their responses are slow, unhelpful, and often ignore the actual information I provide. Screenshots go unnoticed, and I get asked for irrelevant details that clearly don’t relate to the issue. It honestly feels like their support is outsourced and lacks any real understanding or authority to fix problems.
Out of frustration, I contacted One NZ (whose network Kogan uses). They identified the issue and told me it could be resolved by the end of the working day - but since I’m not their direct customer, they couldn’t do anything further.

So here I am, six weeks on, still dealing with two separate issues. And what do I get in return? A $10 refund for a service I paid for and can’t even use. Frankly, it’s insulting. I don’t want the money - I want a working phone service.

It’s such a shame, because when Kogan works, it’s genuinely a good deal. But if anything breaks, you’ll enter a frustrating cycle of neglect, delays, and zero accountability.

A phone company you can’t call? That alone should be a red flag.

Not interested in looking after custmers

Their help line is unable to help, more or less not interested in fixing my outgoing calls not working. However they don't have trouble asking me for more credit even though app says I have 100 days and have used 14GB of 300GB. Can't even do Voip. Will not be staying with Kogan at end of contract, need a company that shows it looks after custmers.

Poor customer service

Requested replacement SIM 13 days ago. Got no response. Managed to buy a replacement SIM from one of the few places in Brisbane that stock them. That was 5 days ago. Despite giving the Customer Care team what they required multiple times, and many calls and emails to them over the past 5 days, they still haven’t activated the SIM.

You get what you pay for or in my case you get to pay even more

ordered the black friday deal 22nd November 2024. Did not receive sims until 15th January 2025, despite multiple follow ups on emails/chat. Emails took 10-20 days to reply. Went to activate SIMs, they had expired. They would not renew SIMs only refund (after 5-7 days but yet to receive) and ask me to buy again but instead of $330NZD BOGO it was $260 each. No help or assistance offered.

Always unreliable and at times…

Always unreliable and at times completely unusable.

- Kogan randomly blocks numbers from my contacts list for no apparent reason.
- Network coverage is poor and there are times the service is completely unusable and you get a "network is busy" message when trying to make a call
