Avoid avoid avoid

Avoid avoid avoid. They auto-renewed my home insurance, when I rang to cancel it they charged me £30 for the privilege!! The call centre operative told me this a standard thing that companies did, strange whenever I've cancelled other polices in the past no other company has ever charged me anything. I might have stayed with them if they hadn't increased the price by 50%!!!

I founf them to be not helpful and hard …

I founf them to be not helpful and hard to talk to.The idea of sending email to treaten people at 9pm on a friday evening is at the best silly and more like bullying than contacting. Non fault seltled claim that they say is not settled...why did we not give them enough money yet.we can't even aford a new car after someone drove into the back of our parked car. Please try talking to customer before you treatent them and try talking to AXA

Policy Cancellation half way through term

I found Kwik Fit to be extremely helpful, the staff member I dealt with was very efficient, friendly and quick, the whole process took less than 10 minutes with minimal hassle and there was no issue with me cancelling due to my circumstances changing and having to change car. The fee I had to pay was also minimal which was a lovely surprise! Great experience and I would use them again.

Avoid!

Cancelled my insurance without telling me was driving uninsured without realising, only realised when my bank statement arrived and no money had been taken. When I phoned up and eventually got through after 2 hours on hold to ask why they couldn't give me a reason as they didn't know and offered to provide cover at triple the rate I had previously been on! Avoid at all costs!

They ignore all your emails and never answer the phone

They ignore all your emails and do not answer the phone!!

Kwik fit wrote to my partner to advise that they were not going to be offering insurance for his van when it was due for renewal. Instead they were going to pass his details to another company for renewal. This new company sent a renewal quote which was 3x the cost of all other quotes we obtained.

This is where the problems began. Because he was not insured with this company they could not send proof of his no claims bonus. Despite emailing Kwik fit over 20 times and spending 6 hours on hold on the telephone, we still do not have it. His new insurance company has advised that they will be cancelling his insurance if he cannot provide it. Despite getting an email to say that they have received our emails they constantly ignore them.

This is terrible and we will be contacting the obundsman as without proof of no claims we can't get insurance without paying over the odds. Wish we had never insured with them!!

£350 to £1548 in 12 months, no claims or convictions. Total con!!

Never before have I ever had the misfortune to use such a abortional company. Every time I called them for any reason it cost me money! I downgraded my car from a Audi 3.0 convertible to a diesel Ford Focus and my insurance went up by £200?? How? The extortionate cancellation fees made it cheaper to stay with them, such a crooked way to retain customers.

The biggest shock came today when I received my renewal paperwork, my premiem has gone from £350 to nearly £1550. I'm 43, have 9 yrs NCB and no accidents or points, and they even auto renewal for you, I don't think so, I didn't pay that much when I was 18!!

Not once did the girl on the phone try to keep me as a client or thank me for my custom. I have now received a quote for £320, over £1300 cheaper. This company is a disgrace to the car insurance industry.

Absolute con like the others on here

Absolute con like the others on here, no notification by any form of email or letter, put my insurance up from £178 per year on small Zoe electric car and moved it to £581.58, dirty robbing pond scum. Managed to get the CANX fee of £50 waived so stand firm people! but still charged me 122.17 for 8 days of cover. This company should have its directors disqualified for being unfit and conning the public. Directors have breached their duties by ruining the companies reputation. whoever made the decision to increase the policies should be fired.I have reported to the ombudsman online, takes around 5 mins so suggest you all do the same. I will also email the MD Kenji.Murai, his email is available online on ceoemail dot com

Would give less than 1 star if I could

Been a customer for two years now. Had my renewal in yesterday and an increase from £276 to £605.
No accidents no claims and nine years NBC yet an increase of more than double. Called to cancel the bloke said he could do me a deal and suggested a new price of £425 as a special favour.
Cancelled and renewed elsewhere for £285.
Conning clowns with little hope of retaining any future business.

Found out why rather than being honest with their customers Kwik Fit insurance do not want any car insurance customers new or otherwise so price themselves out of the market so still clowns

If I could give them 0 stars I would!

No wonder they are having to close down their call centres! They must be loosing customers left, right and centre! So good things about insurance... website is good and you can make updates amendments to your policy online... this is the ONLY good thing I can say. Bad... where do I start.... so having changed my car for a new model I logged in to amend my car details, expecting the price to rise slightly as it's a newer car but not by the amount they quoted. Original monthly cost £30.48 .... new monthly price with new car £137.27 .... the only change was the car, I have 9 years NCB, no points etc. I thought... maybe it's an expensive car to insure so I checked out price comparison sites - in comparison I can get a renewal quote of £40.56 pm making kwik fit almost £100 more expensive each month. So now with 3 months left of my policy I'm faced with the choice to cancel, pay £50 change and loose this years no claims discount and Christ knows what other magical fees they will find or pay their quoted amount each month for the next 3 months. It's like daylight robbery. I feel like I'm trapped and they know this and are therefore exploiting this fact. To top it all off their opening hours are 9-5 Monday to a Friday so in order to cancel I need to call during my working hours, they don't have enough staff to answer their phones so I'll be expecting a wait of 1-2 hours on hold, how I do that whilst at work I don't know, I may have to book the day off!

I'm posting this as I feel like I'm being robbed and have been trapped, I know I'm not the only one and from seeing others, even if I'd not switched my car I'd have had all of this trouble when my renewal arrived as people have been quoted 4 times their original premium with no changes and an extra year of NCB. You would expect a decrease as ... a valued customer and a customer who doesn't claim! Carry on like this kwik fit and I think you are heading for trouble!

My advice to anyone being lured in by a cheap initial quote is... look elsewhere, for a couple of quid extra other companies have much better reputation and are actually able to answer the phone to their customers within a reasonable time.

Kwikfit Car Insurance 220% increase (included 1 years no claims)

My 2016 quote was £236 fully comprehensive - the 2017 quote was £519.60 with 1 year no claims bonus.
I called them and within 2 minutes David (very helpful person) reduced my quote to £313. Unable to email confirmation - which was strange given the amount of emails Kwikfix send!!!!

Ho can one for the leading insurance companies rip customers off so blatantly - 220% increase with 1 year no claims allegedly included

No wonder the car insurance profession has such a bad reputation Shame on you KWIKFIT

Absolutely disgusting!

I have taken out a breakdown cover to cut down the costs and wish I had never done it. The breakdown was a simple case of flat tyre, I was asked by the customer advisor on the phone if I have a locking nut which I confirmed having and was told that someone will be with me shortly. Suprisingly the so called specialist arrived within 30 minutes without any tools etc. He hadn't even had pliers!!!! He refused to do the work and told me to go to a garage, I have called kwik fit to make a complaint and was told it is my fault and that I should have all the tools. If I would have the pliers at home I would changed the wheel myself! The representative was rude, started shouting at me, at the end of conversation she told me that if I want to have the car towed to the nerby garage (1 mile away!!!!!!!) I would need to pay £80. I have asked her why since I have the full cover and was told that it is because I had no tools at my home and it was my fault so I had to pay extra!!!
The end of the story is very simple, I went for a walk to the local garage who helped me out for £20 including repairing my tyre without any fuss.
AVOID AT ALL COST

Be careful - Kwik Fit insurance will scam you

I had home insurance with the Green Insurance Company (now Kwik Fit) for 4 years, paying up front each month on auto renew. Last year they suggested that I should be paying by direct debit as it was the same price as paying up front. I thought that would be a good idea and agreed. When my renewal came yesterday they kept the insurance the same (£205). However, in small writing, they added a charge for the direct debit of £50!!!! This is a incredible 42.7% APR. Unbelievable.

I think they have been told to convert people who pay up front to direct debit for free, hoping that on auto-renew they will not notice. A truly appalling scam which obviously will target the old and vulnerable. I am neither and promptly change my insurance and saved £100 on top.

Kwik fit car breakdown cover (incompetent poor service)

Absolutely appalling customer service and rude staff members, took out the kwik full breakdown cover as it appeared to be value for money but wish I had gone with a proper breakdown cover provider, they use a third party recovery company that has nothing to do with kwik fit and are incompetent and will keep you waiting for hours should your vehicle breakdown and you need help! You have been warned stay away from kwik fit vehicle breakdown cover and go with the well known breakdown cover providers.
