DO NOT USE

Just received a quote online, called them to discuss a few questions and the customer service rep was so rude, unfriendly, unhelpful and quite honestly in the wrong job I ended up putting the phone down as she wanted to argue with me and wouldn't answer any questions. I then googled the company for reviews and wish I had done so before calling. Disgusted, do not recommend, happy to pay extra for a company that cares.

*&%kers!!!

After being with 'em two yrs and paying 720£ a year they increased it to 2400£ without any explanation!!! Rang them, so they immediatelly dropped the price down to 1325£??? Canceled my insurance with them as found elsewhere for 772£ a year. Never again will be using kwikfit!

They can give Terms & Conditions but cant take em

After a bad experience with another car insurance provider, I thought it was necessary to send any new insurance company my own terms and conditions which laid out my administration fees if anything went wrong, or my policy was canceled without good reason.

Kwickfit couldn't wriggle out of it quick enough, needless to say ive ended the insurance with them and found another provider who was willing to accept it.

As car insurance Terms & Conditions are purposely laid out to be of benefit to the insurer only, I urge anyone ripped of by sky high insurance to do the same and send out to them your own Terms & Conditions, it protects you if something goes wrong throught the lifetime of the policy and gives you a legal foothold should you ever need to take your insurer to court, they cant cancel everyones policy, once they know customers send their own conditions of insurance the industry will start to sit up and listen that we refused to be fleeced out of our hard earned cash.

Website is rubbish

Was going to accept a quote based on the strength they were the cheapest for the deposit, every time I tried to buy the policy it said "something went wrong" and to ring them up, for them to say things were missing off the original quotation and low and behold the quote doubled.

Its legalized theft I wish the government would better regulate these scam merchants as insurance is becoming the biggest legalized theft in the country.

Might as well just empty my pockets in front of them and say take what you like !

Beware!

After a year kwik fit automatically renews your policy and takes the money out of your bank account before your renewal date, also mine had gone up by about 600 pounds from the previous year costing 909 leaving me completely over drawn with no money at all and bank charges for up to 5 working days till I recieve the refund, I could understand if it had passed my renewal date and I had not contacted them but I think it's disgusting and I think others should be aware when they insure so it doesn't happen to them. I would never of insured with them if I had realized they could just take that amount out of my bank account with no authorization, luckily I have noticed now and is receiving a refund the next person might not be so lucky and would need to pay a £30 cancellation fee

If i could give No Stars I would

I have been trying to change vehicles on my policy for over a week and as yet have had no success so my car is sat on the drive uninsured. I have tried phone, email & social media all of which have got no response. When i phone i get an automated response telling me they are too busy to deal with my query...WOW !! Customer Service is something they clearly do not understand. I have now got to the point where i want to cancel my policy but guess what?? They're too busy to deal with my query, can you believe it!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY they clearly don't have enough staff and the ones they have don't give a damn. I would hate to think what would happen if you had a claim!!

Took breakdown cover a year ago. And canceled renewal cover few weeks before ended existing. It took me two calls to assistant,s one of them last for 15 min, and send the letter by email. And I am still in renewed policy.

Cheap but you get cheap customer service in return

OK so Kwik-Fit (actually nothing to do with Kwik Fit who sold the brand to Ageas) came out cheapest in the annual renewal search but you gets what you pays for!

Have been a customer for less than 6 weeks but have already had to file two official complaints about their customer relations team.

On taking out the policy I was asked for proof of no claims and a copy of my driving licence. Two weeks later I got a letter saying my policy would be cancelled in 7 days as I hadn't provided suitable proof. On calling I was told that I hadn't provided proof of address. I pointed out that this hadn't been asked for but was on my driving licence and no claims proof. Call agent said neither were acceptable as proof of address. After an hour long call finally sorted and an apology from Customer Relations.

Today have discovered that a duplicate direct debit has been taken from my account a week after the first. Again, took 40 mins on phone to try and resolve.

Call agents seem poorly trained and either unwilling or unable to sort the most basic of query. If you take out a policy be prepared to spend a lot of time having to sort out the most basic of issues.

Kwik fit brokers insured me through Towergate

I paid for the emergency cover which couldn’t provide emergency cover when it was needed. During the early hours of the morning on Saturday 21st November 2015, gales blew down my TV aerial and tiles from my roof along with several of my neighbour’s aerials on the same street.

I phoned in a claim and was told I had emergency cover, they tried to get a company to make temporary fix to prevent further damage.
After several days of chasing I managed to speak with someone from Towergate who asked me to scan and email my policy to progress my claim.

I was then contacted by Imperial who told me I would need to erect scaffolding to allow the damage assessor access to the roof, at my own cost and I would get it back if the claim was validated, if not validated I would have to stand the cost, approx. £1000

The assessor finally arrived on Wednesday 2nd December 2015 and allegedly looked from a ladder and decided that the damage was caused by wear and tear of the aerial cable, so no claim. I asked whether the aerial would have fallen had there not been a gale that night but he refused to comment.

I now have to wait for a letter stating that the claim isn’t valid, then I am allowed to have the work done at my own cost. I asked what of any damage while waiting for the letter and apparently that would be my fault.

Not happy with the company Kwik Fit (brokers) allocated me and I’m very unhappy with Towergate as an insurer. I renewed my policy a months ago, which means I am tied into a contract for the remainder of the year. I will not be staying with Kwik Fit or Towergate.

D Hebden.

Good car insurance

Good car insurance provider. The level of cover, price and ease of use is excellent. Due to a Kwik Fit admin error, I have also had to use their customer services, and can happily report that they really are very good.

Buy from this company in confidence. 5 star

Never Woull I recommend this Rip OFF bunch

When first took out policy via Kwik Fit they came back cheapest via online comparison site and at time offered free MOT.

Took option to pay monthly and paid policy up until time for renewal during which took advantage of free MOT during that time with only a new Tyre needed.

Renewal came up and it was actually more than previous year, told its expected as insurance always goes up well after using Internet found many many quotes much cheaper, told them this and they gave up a requote using same details and extras as previous policy. Took up policy and came free MOT time booked car in over phone and then came bill and presented with charge for MOT even though MOT was free, they stated this had been pulled but it was clearly still stated on our Policy that it was free. Refused to hand over keys unless MOT was paid but in end it was sorted and MOT was not paid though told this was gesture of goodwill as free MOT had been removed, but never wrote and told us.

Well 2 years passed of being a customer of KWIK FIT INSURANCE and few weeks ago got renewal through. Well after already using comparison sites we had rough idea of what we would be paying so letter arrives and low and behold insurance gone up from previous year at £400 to £1862.96 with same provider but then stated on renewal letter that a cheaper quote was found with different Insurer and based on same details i.e excess , extras etc that it would be automatically renewed at their Price which totalled £1080.90, well over 100% more than what we paid and nto to do anything as insurance will automatically roll over and renew on 23rd October but should we wish to cancel renewal to phone them. Well we did just that.

After a heated conversation and a load of BS they came back with a new policy quote of only £363 via Monthly Payments, less than previous year as one would always hope. During call the funny part was that they were trying to explain that the previous years policy we had was amended to cheaper rate when it was due for renewal and even though we only paid £360 plus additional costs due to Monthly payments being made instead of paying in full that the actual policy we had taken actually cost Kwik Fit over £500 to take out so they had lost money to give us the deal they gave, well if one is to believe that then they are as stupid as the next idiot.

A clean history of driving, no convictions, no point,s no crashes or claims, full and protected no claims, never moved for years. They are just a bunch of rip off cowboys and thieves.

Took the details to Tesco who matched the Quote and now we get points on top. Things are always hassle free and perfect when you pay and never need to use them but then when you need to speak to the company or in this case receive figures through the post that would give a halo and gold star to some Loan Sharks that is when you see the clearer picture of the company you are dealing with.

DO NOT USE KWIK FIT AS INSURANCE PROVIDER and on another NOTE it was also found by many undertaking reviews of Providers that KWIK FIT charge more APR on their policies via monthly payments than some subprime lenders charge when calculated over 35% APR and ranked 1 of out off Insurance as most rip off Pricing when it came to Interest and xtras

Simple and Easy to deal with

Set up a policy online which was quick and easy. Havent been required to do anything further which is nice. Received documents the next day which was great service. Obviously I dont know how they are in the event of a claim but hopefully I wont have to make one... Happy Customer would recommend :)

Not impressed

i have been with kwik fit car insurance for 3 years it seemed ok apart from my insurance would go every year but not being able to move to another company due to lack of funds, I was a little bit stuck...anyway like i said everything seemed fine until i had to make a non fault claim, thats when the problem started, very quick to sort out a hire car, great, but then given no option but to send my car to salvage, i demanded to know an offer price as the car is repairable, but they cannot tell me until it goes for salvage, i told them if its pictures they want i will send them pictures, they agreed, the next day i got someone from a garge to look at my car so i could also send them an estimate, i then rang kwik fit explaining i will email them the next day, the woman said thats fine, the next day the hire car company are inquiring a note on their account and advised by them to ring my insurance as it states the claim has not been reported, rang kwik fit because i didnt send the picture asap they closed the claim and being as it was the weekend they could not do anything till the week after, also been advised by kwik fit i need to ring the other partys insurance myself, which i intially thought was my insurance companys job as i pay them £600 a year... So it seems i am paying £600 for them to open and close claims as they wish, take away the hire car and leave me with no way of getting around (would not have been so bad if i was not living in a small village, miles away from everything) and to run around chasing everything myself and stressing myself out. Its annoying enough to be in an accident but for your insurance company to then make life alot harder, super stressed is an understatement, I will definately be switching to a company who is alot more helpful at times of need

They'd sell your soul if they got a referral fee for it!

Their insurance is ok, but god help you if you have an accident. They'll sell your details to literally hundreds of vulture companies that'll phone you for years, trying to get you to sue somebody. I wasn't even in the car at the time. Of course, Kwik Fit denies selling my details, they won't even admit they're a bunch of greedy *****

Poor and persistent

Like Marius I found a massive increase in my insurance year on year despite another year of no-claims. Also, like Marius I was given no opportunity to change before they simply went ahead and took the direct debit.

I too found I could half my insurance by going elsewhere and was then charged £50 for the privilege. I have subsequently had calls telling me they could save me money on my VW Toureg (a vehicle I do not and have not owned).

I didn't like how things were dealt with

I had quite a good insurance with them for a year, then came time to renew and I received a letter offering renewal insurance and the price only went up by £920 from last year. So it was clear i'll have to find someone new, and i did. I saved around £740 by leaving them.

Few weeks later i checked my bank account and saw that kwik fit took out money from my back account making me go into overdraft, so i called them up and found out that my insurance was automatically renewed. I was told i was suppose to call them up and say i didn't want to continue. But any other decent company would have called me up(so ok that was my fault then). BUT i did not receive any kind of notice or confirmation at all saying i got new insurance with them. And to cancel the policy i had to pay £372 because they added all kinds of extras on top of normal cover which i have never used or needed before.
I still saved money cancelling and paying £372, than staying with kwik fit.
