Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 117 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently express significant disappointment with product quality, noting furniture often feels cheaply made with issues like particle board construction, cracking frames, and cushions that quickly sag or shed fabric. Many also report problems with mechanisms failing, screws falling out, and materials like vinyl peeling or being misrepresented as leather, leading to the perception of overpriced and overrated items. However, some customers noted positive interactions with staff, finding them compassionate, friendly, and knowledgeable, and a few were satisfied with their product's comfort and appearance. Conversely, a small portion of people felt dissatisfied with the service, citing difficulties with repairs, misleading information, and unexpected labor charges for warranty claims.

I give it a 2 only because the quality and the employee experience

I give it a 2 only because the sales person was helpful and took her time with us, other than that we live less than a hour away from the store it was not delivered to and we had to rent a u haul and hire help to unload it back at our home. At the shop when picking it up we had a couple of disgruntled employees aggravated at the fact they had to help load the sofa and chair, which we had confirmation that it wouldn’t be a problem, well they dropped my recliner into the u haul and scooted my new sofa across the cement floor and dragged into the U-Haul, both my husband and I were astonished! Well after setting it into the house, my recliner was making all kinds of creaking and wasn’t turning on the swivel and the foot rest clunked hard when pulled down, the side the reclining sofa where my husband sets is now sagging in the fabric. Well after calling the Eugene,Oregon store where we bought them they had representative to come look at my recliner, he found that the swivel was shattered upon its loading, he came prepared and put a new swivel on it . He was kind and knowledgeable. We are a older couple and we went with Lazy Boy because it was considered the top quality of furniture and we wanted our forever furniture, I am disappointed in the quality of it and the $$$ is spent. But the employees who loaded it and freaked out about having to load it was the true disappointment. I still stick with a “2” will not recommend.

La-Z-boy uses Synchrony Bank for their financing. Synchrony bank is not best to deal with. The website is difficult at best. I will consider another seller before La-Z-Boy just because of their business practices. Also,
A credit card cannot be used for payment. It must come out of your checking account. They store your bank information even when your tell them not to.

Is a zero rating possible?

If we could give a zero rating we would. Spent a small fortune on a La-Z-Boy with custom fabric and all the bells and whistles you could imagine. The result? A surprisingly uncomfortable chair, the fabric is already showing signs of usage (lint balls, pulled threads) after a few weeks. Very disappointing. Not worth the money. Customer service is awful as well. Look for another brand.

LOVE LAZYBOY!!

LOVE LAZYBOY!!!
They have a consultant that will come to your home, take pics, and consult with you - AND- you get a discount for using them!! Bonus!
I sold/ reused all my living room furniture and replaced it with Lazyboy and I simply couldn't be happier. The quality and the appearance are top notch! And the comfort - the zero gravity recliners on my sectional sent my niece's Aura ring to a whole new level or relaxation (something that a massage and great dinner out- didn't do)!!! Just visit the showroom. It's fabulous too! I wanted an ultra modern look in my 1920's home and I got exactly what I was hoping for. Love love love it!
I have pics- but didn't see where to add them on Trust Pilot. ; (

Received my Edie sectional in Dec 2025

Received my Edie sectional in Dec 2025. Was very worried due to negative reviews. We purchased at Lazy Boy in South Austin. Upgraded performance fabric and tempuroedic cushions. We LOVE it! The high back is what attracted me to this style. It is gorgeous and the most comfortable thing I've ever sat on. We don't use the recline feature that much. I will update if things go south but this couch is solid and we've had no deterioration of fabric and no uneven or misshaped look. It looks and feels high end. I could have purchased a much more expensive sectional but this felt best on my back in the show room.

I bought an over $4000 loveseat from them and it was delivered damaged. I didn’t notice the damage until 30 minutes later. The console is stripped coming off and the table holder is loose. But the worst thing is it has several bad scuffs on the very back of seat. I never sit on it but my wife does that’s why I didn’t notice it. Called them immediately and they refused to fix it unless I paid them an extra $1250. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.I would never deal with them again. They promise the world until they have your money and then nothing

I bought a $3400 power lift recliner…

I bought a $3400 power lift recliner from La-Z-Boy in Owings Mills, MD. It's a clunker. The chair literally makes a loud clunky noise during lifting and reclining. The additional noise when just sitting down can only be described as LOUD. I've had two service calls and neither were familiar with the chair so no repair. I notified the store and was told I would get a replacement. No replacement,no service, no calls returned.

Bought a love seat and sofa 3 years…

Bought a love seat and sofa 3 years ago. The leather or pleather between the cushions is rubbing off and extensive white fabric is visible. The sofa is ruined or we have to pay Lazy Boy $160 an hour to fix which could cost more than the original purchase price. Warrenty does not cover. Fully understand why they have a 1.4 rating from 800 reviews.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND LAZY BOY !!!

Teresa Was A Blessing

Our old reclining sofa (not Lazy Boy) was becoming a joke -- falling apart. We finally decided to go to our nearest store in Bel Air, MD to see what is available. Before we entered the store we 🙏 prayed that we would find a low pressure sales person who would be personable and show us around. Teressa MacLaren was the answer to our prayer. She was not pushy and was knowledgeable about what we were looking for. We hadn't planned to buy today, but we soon felt like Teressa and we were on the same page and God was in it and that we could proceed with the purchase after being shown all the options. She explained everything and we took advantage of the sale and are happy with the way it all came together. Teressa arranged for Abby the designer to visit ahead of the cancelation period to check the leather color in our house which was really a help. If the sofa performs as well as the buying experience, we will be very grateful.

Replacement air bladder for Supreme Comfort sleep sofa.

Recently contacted Lazy Boy to purchase a replacement air bladder for my supreme comfort sleep sofa. Once they finally ran me in circles to locate the ACK number, I was told the air bladder could be purchased for $536.00 but NO WARRANTY on how long it would last. This would be the 4th air bladder since 2012 on a sofa that does not get much sleeper use. The last air bladder purchased 4 years ago cost $223.00 and no reason was given why it now costs so much more now. While the vinyl air bladder is of heavy material, the seams are prone to failure and are impossible to patch.
I can buy a camping type air mattress for $35 and it has a 1 year warranty. So do the math, I can buy 15 of these for the price of 1 Lazy Boy air bladder!
Don't buy a Lazy Boy Supreme Comfort sleep sofa because in less than 10 years you will pay more for replacement air bladders than the original cost of the entire sofa!

I had my nephew order a recliner from lazy boy for me…

I had my nephew order a recliner for me from lazy boy in December of 2025, which he had ordered previously from the same lazy boy. I am 73 year old woman, I wasn't feeling well enough to go to the store, shopping for my recliner, Christina the store manager, said that I should have tried the chair in the store first, well why should when we had the same chair in our living room, I had the model number, color, I sat in that recliner, I fell in love with it, so I ordered it, but what I received was a recliner of a different leather, smaller version of the model I ordered, it is painful to sit in it, I am a 5' large woman, this recliner was made for a child or at least a small human being, when reclining my feet hang over the chair, just a reminder I am 5' tall !
Also the leather is hard so where they were stitched is very hard, and that's where my it hits my sciatica nerve, and that hurts, I received the chair in February, I contacted the store service department, in the end of February, I was given appointment for April 7th, the service man checked everything, agreed with me that the recliner is short, but the product number was the same, then when he reported to the store he said my recliner was just fine, so I called yet again the service department gave me another appointment for may 1st
The service man did the same thing, he agreed that my feet were hanging over the chair. But when he reported his find he said all is well with the chair. I'm afraid I will be stuck with this 3k lousy recliner, IF THIS IS NOT ELDER ABUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT IS..!

Stay away, over priced crap

Stay away. They don't support their warranty. Paid $700 for a reclining rocker. At 1.5 years cushions no longer supported me, I looked in to warranty repair. Pain in the butt. Now 3 years later the left arm is broken, I sent the pictures and also mentioned the failure of the cushions. They denied my claim on loss of resiliency. They said nothing about the arm that is no longer secured to the main frame.

Uncomfortable furniture but even worst customer service!

When we contacted the store, we were told custom orders could only be addressed within 1–2 days after delivery and that the couch simply needed to “break in.” From there, we were bounced between the store, Comfort Care, and the service department with nobody taking ownership or providing real help.

Multiple service appointments were scheduled and then repeatedly rescheduled, sometimes at the last minute. After weeks of waiting, the technician finally arrived nearly FOUR HOURS EARLY from the confirmed appointment time, barely inspected the loveseat, took no measurements or photos, acknowledged the squeaking, promised a “favorable report,” and said we’d hear back within 24–48 hours.

We never heard back.

A follow-up message was later left for the store manager, and once again there was absolutely no response. At this point, it feels like the strategy is simply to ignore customers until they give up.

The product quality is disappointing, but the customer service is even worse. My mother-in-law spent a significant amount of money on furniture she hoped would help her relax comfortably despite her back pain, and instead she has been stuck with a defective loveseat and months of unnecessary stress.

Now we are left pursuing BBB complaints, credit card disputes, and public reviews just to get basic attention from this company and warn others.

Avoid La-Z-Boy if you expect quality furniture, accountability, or customer support that actually follows through!!!

La-z-boy Double Talk

I first checked the website to make sure the recliner I wanted was in stock. The result indicated that my item was "In Stock for North Olmsted, OH". The recliner I was shown at the store had electric controls. I wanted manual controls, as was indicated on the website and shown to be in stock at this store.

The salesperson told me that their store was a display-only store, and that I would have to order the recliner I wanted and there is a $100 delivery charge. I told him that many years ago when I purchased a La-z-boy recliner in 2009, I was able to take it home myself and save the delivery charge. He then began to lecture me as to how the cost of fuel has risen since 2009. What does this have to do with taking the recline home myself ?

Then when I told him that the website indicated my recliner was "In Stock for North Olmsted, OH", this salesperson told me that it would have been in stock had the website said, "In Stock at North Olmsted, OH". So it would seem that the preposition "for" means the product is not actually at the store, and the preposition "at" means that the product is really at the store.

I then said that I will wait until the recliner is shipped to the store and then pick it up. The salesperson told me that the warehouse was in central Ohio, and I would have to pay $100 shipping cost whether it is shipped to the store in North Olmsted, OH or shipped to my house.

It is clear to any reasonable person that this salesperson holds precious little knowledge about the business, and engages in rambling talk to prove otherwise. For myself, I could have saved a trip to the store and purchased the recliner on-line and paid the $100 shipping cost. However after this experience, I have decided to explore reputable furniture retailers elsewhere.

Lazy Boy has been riding high on their name way too long.

Bought recliner couch and chair. Same as the other reviews, crap. Went to Lazy Boy in Ottawa. Thought we were going to a quality store. Just another poor quality, looks good, junk. They have been riding way too long on their name. After 3 years we have tried extra foam and finally plywood in the seats so we would'nt fall through. Even had the service guy here to repair broken cable and check cushions. Couldnt have been less interested, obviously he hears it all the time. Second cable broke, fixed it myself. Finally, we went to Leons and the quality differences were so obvious. Bought the better quality furniture at similiar prices, that we thought we were getting a Lazy Boy.

No Wonder It Is Called "La-Z-Boy"!!

It has taken from February 12, 2026, to April 27, 2026, for a simple arm repair on my La-Z-Boy. NEVER would I ever again buy a La-Z-Boy or advise anyone else to invest in anything from this store. The customer service is despicable. There is one number to call - in Michigan - which automatically tells you that you "are first in line" and 20 minutes later, you MAY get a person to answer. Once a determination is made as to what is wrong with your chair, the part will be mailed to you, then it is your responsibility to call the third party company to schedule a date with a traveling technician = neither of which actually work for La-Z-Boy! This, I guess, eliminates blame and responsibility from everyone! I live in Alexandria, Virginia - not even one mile from a La-Z-Boy store, and yet I was told they only come to this area twice a month!! Three months to wait for a very simple repair! Unbelievable! I was told there was a wait list; I was told the original person who came would make the repair - later the "third party" said "I don't know who told you that".. No responsibility is ever assumed by anyone. The person in Michigan was rude (I have her name); each time I referenced the previous person I talked with I was told they no longer worked there (I don't blame them!!) My advice? Do NOT go to La-Z-Boy! Save your time; your money; AND your sanity! Go elsewhere!
