A note about our Trustpilot reviews... Because Languagenut is widely used for school homework, many of the reviews here are written by students immediately after being asked to complete a language assignment. Understandably, not everyone is thrilled about homework! You'll therefore see plenty of tongue-in-cheek, humorous, and occasionally exaggerated reviews that reflect students' feelings about homework rather than the platform itself. As Head of MFL, I have found LanguageNut to be one of the most effective resources we use. It has been brilliant for motivating students and giving them meaningful practice with the language they need at both Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
One of the biggest strengths for us is how easy it is to import our own vocabulary. This means we can align homework and independent practice directly with our curriculum and assessment content, making the platform feel completely bespoke to our students' learning.
We use LanguageNut primarily for homework, setting the same style of task each week. The consistency means students know exactly what is expected of them, which has really helped establish strong routines. As a result, our Key Stage 3 homework completion rate is around 95%, which is fantastic.
We also use it to prepare students for assessments, and it has been invaluable in helping them revisit and secure vocabulary in an engaging way. The students genuinely enjoy using it, and the range of activities keeps them motivated while providing plenty of retrieval practice.
I would highly recommend LanguageNut to any languages department looking for a flexible, curriculum-focused platform that motivates students, supports independent learning, and is straightforward for teachers to manage.

The pupils love Languagenut and it is such a great learning tool. Learning made fun, without our pupils being aware that they are actually learning! I particularly love the GCSE resources and choice of skill.

I love that it's customisable for our curriculum, but also that there are ready made tasks linked to the new specification. Students get instant feedback on their work and the tasks are engaging.

It's a great addition to a class. Students really like the interactive nature of the tasks and it's a good programme to set as homework as well as in class . The admin of language nut are very quick to help and support with any login issues.

Languagenut is more suited to a KS4 setting and works well for this, providing content for both the legacy and current courses and a good range of skills, vocabulary and grammar based tasks. It's epecially useful to set as revision/ cover work for Y10 and Y11 classes.
The KS3 sections are not split by yeargroup and do not all offer easy/medium/hard splits, meaning that Y7 and Y8 often cannot access the tasks - this needs further development .
There are also quite a lot of glitches - students regularly report not being able to submit tasks and this can cause some worry for the most conscientious ones. . Speaking tasks seem particularly troublesome, but this has been reported across the breadth of tasks types available.
Finally, a lot of the tasks do not function on mobile phones, which many students need to use due to a lack of other IT access at home.

I am a high school Spanish teacher. I have used LanguageNut for several years and I plan to continue with it. I like that it is very user-friendly and allows for modifications to fit with what I am teaching.

The students really like the games but it would be great to have some new ones.
We love the “ slow down snail” to help students who need more time to recognize new vocabulary.
Sometimes the “ verbal cues” are hard for them to hear/ understand.
Also, the writing prompts are a little too challenging for beginners ( maybe have a multiple choice option).
As a teacher, I really like the Verb puzzle match up so students learn the verb endings. I also LOVE that Languagenut records the scores of students so I can see exactly how a student has done on an assignment.

My students truly enjoy Language Nut, and end up remembering stuff they came across there while completing the assignments. The high scores of the class motivate them to set their target accordingly. A truly great platform to further inculcate the love of the French language and culture amongst little minds!

I like Languagenut because there are a very good variety of topics to explore and revise. The students like it too because it is interactive and challenging.
The only problem is you can't access the website on phones, only on computers so it is not possible to use it with a big class as we don't have the resources to get Chrome books for everyone.

As a K–5 Spanish Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teacher, I have been using Languagenut for the past four years, and it has become one of the most valuable instructional resources in my classroom.
One of the things I appreciate most is how well the platform develops all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—while also reinforcing grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence building. It gives students meaningful opportunities to practice independently while allowing teachers to easily monitor progress. The platform is designed around ACTFL proficiency expectations and includes activities that build vocabulary, grammar, speaking, reading, and writing across a wide range of topics.
For our Dual Language Immersion program, Languagenut has been an excellent tool to prepare students for both the 3rd Grade Avant assessment and later the 5th grade ACTFL AAPPL assessment required for the Seal of Biliteracy. The variety of speaking, writing, listening, and reading activities helps students build confidence and proficiency in authentic ways that closely align with the communication skills these assessments measure.
Many of our DLI teachers use Languagenut throughout the school, and it has become a regular part of our classroom instruction. I frequently incorporate it into literacy and language learning stations as students rotate through different activities. The students genuinely enjoy using it because the lessons are interactive, engaging, and motivating, while I appreciate the detailed reporting and the amount of instructional time it saves me.
Another reason I highly recommend Languagenut is the customer support. Although the company is based overseas, the support team has always been responsive, professional, and eager to help whenever we’ve had questions or needed assistance.
After four years of using the platform consistently, I can confidently say that Languagenut has made a positive impact on my students’ language development and on my own teaching. I highly recommend it to any World Language or Dual Language Immersion teacher looking for a comprehensive, engaging, and reliable resource. It has become an essential part of our program, and I look forward to continuing to use it for many years to come.

As a teacher I easily find my classes, their scores and names. When looking at excercises, they are easy to understand and to follow.
The AI option is a bit hard for beginners, but useful for high achieving students.
I still don't know how to take students off the list, who are either there as double entry or who have left.

I've been really impressed with LanguageNut. The interactive activities are engaging, easy to use, and help keep students motivated while developing their language skills. The variety of tasks supports listening, speaking, reading, and writing, making it a valuable resource both in the classroom and for independent learning.
I'm especially pleased that LanguageNut now includes Urdu. It's fantastic to see a platform recognising the importance of offering a wider range of community languages. Having high-quality resources for Urdu is incredibly beneficial for both teachers and students.
Overall, it's an excellent platform that I would highly recommend to schools and language learners.

We have been using languagenut for about 3 years now I think and students like the game aspect of it. As a teacher, assignments are easy to set up and check, we can quickly see which students are completing the homework regularly and who isn't (very handy for parents' evening). The support team is always very helpful.

Great resources to teach modern languages and fun activities to use with the children

Great resource for revising vocabulary. I use it for French in Years 3 to 6. The activities are fun and the children love them. The reward-based tasks help motivate the more reluctant learners. I think the native speakers' voices could be clearer, especially the male voices. I often end up creating my own content, which is a very useful feature. Tracking pupils' progress across the 4 skills is possible but not easy or quick to do. On the whole, it is a great resource to have as a supplement to other language resources.

My students love Languagenut. They really like the new updates esp avacado smash! Also the game creates competition in the classroom which encourages full participation. We use if for revision and consolidation although there is still so many features we don't use as yet. One pen one dice is a favourite printable too. Muchas gracias Languagenut!

Languagenut is an engaging and effective language-learning platform that offers a wide range of interactive activities to support vocabulary acquisition and language development.
Some negative reviews from students do not accurately reflect the platform itself. Issues with translations or word lists can sometimes arise from teacher-created vocabulary lists rather than Languagenut's own content. Additionally, students may find activities more challenging if they have been assigned work that does not align with their current level of learning. The website and app can also occasionally be slow or experience lag, which can understandably be frustrating.
Overall, I find Languagenut to be a valuable resource that complements my teaching and effectively supports language learning in the Italian classroom. It provides students with engaging opportunities to practise vocabulary and language skills both in class and independently.
