Dishonest, lots of hidden fees

Finally was able to close my account after paying off the balance multiple times but always being charged “handling fees” that took the amount into debt.

Then I get an email saying my account is in credit and to log into the app to request my refund. When I log into the app my account is magically reopened and they slug me with another handling fee to bring the account into debt. They are the most dishonest and horrible company.

The worst customer service I ever had…

The worst customer service I ever had in Australia. I was with David Jones Amex before and was transferred to Latitude Finance automatically. Closed my account two days ago, was charged annual account fees and I never activated my card or used it! Staying in the queue on the call for 30 mins and was hung up by them! Don’t waste your time to stay with this company! Never have the proper customer service.

Absolutely shocking customer service

Absolutely shocking customer service. Gem Latitude have taken over my personal loan from Kiwibank Latitude and my gosh the people on the customer service line have NO idea what they're doing or talking about and get extremely rude! Get told a different story every time you speak to someone. They Will confirm something verbally on the phone but Apparently they have no facility to do this by email and ALSO have no records of any letters or notices for anything overdue, don't understand what a credit report is, and that they are reporting a default incorrectly causing extreme stress and damage to a credit score! Refuse to transfer you to anyone senior or recognise the issue. STAY AWAY.

Pathetic

Won’t remove a closed credit card from my credit report. This was opened in 2017 and closed years ago . Spoke to Manish today and offered zero help. Pathetic.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! I put $200 on this card, and the first month I went to pay the bill. The online portal asks whether you want the bill to be drafted from checking or savings. I selected savings. They drafted from checking and then charged me $30 for insufficient funds. I closed the card 3 days later and they have still been charging me late fees. I got this card to boost my credit and THEY MADE IT WORSE! THEY HAVE ALL BAD REVIEWS. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER.

Horrible experience with this company

Horrible experience with this company, I've closed my account 4 months ago and they're still charging me $10.95 per month for "account servicing fee" even though I've closed my account and brought my balance down to $0.

0% finance? You'll pay anyway.

Forced to apply for Apple 0% finance, and as soon as they've got your debt they give you a credit card you don't want and charge you $6 a month for the privilege. Slap on a $5 charge just to pay your debt and you're paying interest anyway. Misleading, and honestly feels like it should be illegal.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL NEVER O WHAT YOU ASK THEM TO DO

I would not even give this company 1 star or half a one in relation to this company. I will never be using this company again and be closing my account. You call them ask to do something, 4 days latter call them again and nothing got done. Every time they just don't do what you ask them even when you have a ref number. EVERYONE PLEASE NOTE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You will waste your time.

Absolute hassle to make payments on account

Signed up for 2 interest free plans and it has been nothing but a hassle to try and make payments. Only free option is to set up a direct deposit from a nominated bank account. No free instant payment option. Direct deposit takes days for it to finally go through so you have to make sure you have money in that account and if you don’t it sends a reversal and if it does that twice in a row in blocks you from using this as a payment option. I called to get this fixed and they wouldn’t unblock this option over the phone or let me nominate a new bank account. Said I can now only use bpay or auspost which have fees. Absolute joke with the technology we have today to not be able to make free instant payments whenever and however I want that best suits me.

Scammers

Don’t use them don’t trust them. After decades of using interest free payments and always paying in period they changed the agreed interest period without our knowledge and blocking any way to find out by saying they had technical problems or if you rang that there was a high number of calls and ring back later. I paid it off and told them to close the account, they didn’t but kept charging. They sent a late payment letter but had to reverse charges when I proved I’d closed account. Didn’t stop them putting it on my credit rating. Jokes on them, I don’t need a credit rating anymore but they need to be stopped. Trouble is they bought all the other companies out.

Pricks

Literally every other review you read here, same same.. fees fees fees, suddenly they decided to charge $10.95 per month (account management fee) after i payed off my balance... handy when youre not told , then you're charged to just pay your minimum payments with Bpay (the only option) $1.95. I could go on and on about my frustration and anger.. hopefully my review puts at least one person off using them and they loose out for once

Extremely Disappointed with Latitude’s Practices

I financed a Harvey Norman purchase through Latitude and thought the process was straightforward. After fully repaying the amount, I expected the account to be closed and all further fees to stop. Instead, I was hit with a recurring monthly fee of $11 for seven months without any warning.

When I called customer service to cancel the account, they asked for my card details over the phone and assured me everything would be resolved. However, the charges continued, and to my dismay, Latitude even reported an overdue balance—an action that later jeopardized my home loan pre-approval.

This experience has been both frustrating and damaging. I urge anyone considering Latitude’s services to exercise extreme caution.

PLEASE AVOID...THEY ARE SCAMMERS

We used Latitude for a Harvey Norman purchase, and after repaying the amount, they never emailed, messaged, or called us about any account fees. However, they started charging us $78—$11 each month—and we only realized this after seven months. When we called to close the account, they asked for our card details over the phone and took the money unfairly and without reason. Even after that, they didn’t close our account and continued charging us $11 per month.

Two months later, we realized they still hadn’t closed the account and were still taking money from us. The worst part is that when we applied for a home loan to buy a new house, our broker informed us that Latitude had sent an overdue report, which led to our bank rejecting our loan pre-approval.

I am extremely disappointed, and this is completely unfair. They never communicated with us properly and played with our credit score and future, all while taking money from us without reason—money they had already taken.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Got an Iphone with them as advertised on Apples website as an interest free loan. I'm sure it's a typical situation about reading the fine print but after processing the loan they sting you with massive account fees. It's definitely not interest free.I wish i went with Afterpay.
