If I can give -ve star rating I will do it. Worst credit card company in Australia. Can't solve your issue but always adding up extra overdue fines. I have been trying since first week of October to... See more

Dishonest as hell
They mail letters out to people demanding money and making threats. I'm not their customer. They took over GE and my account was closed about 10 years ago. They have kept my details for all this time and decide to send out a letter demanding money!
They should be barred from handling people's money and their personal information. They are downright dangerous! Any financial licensing authority reading this should look into them seriously.
Used to be great but then they introduced a monthly fee on a "no fee card"
Breach of trust - longtime customers do not appreciate a provider totally changing the nature of a product. Great product for a long, long time until recently - I had been a customer for over a decade.
Latitude has the perfect right to charge customers fees if it incurs extra costs. However they would have been better off shutting down this formerly 'no fee card' if they wanted to start charging fees on it rather than pull the wool on customers after years and years with no fees. They should also be required to communicate the change MUCH much more clearly - I only noticed the fee rise in a note on the back of my statement. I never received a letter noting this massive change in practice, nor a specific email. This is unacceptable.
The fee structure is also a massive churn, customers now have to pay $8/mth fees but can get back $10/mth in gift cards if they spend more than $1k/mth. So the fees are a net cost to Latitude if all customers respond rationally. It obviously disadvantages low volume customers, while advantaging higher volume customers - if you ignore that hassle factor of having to remember to redeem and use gift cards every month just to save a net $2/mth. This is silly business sense - making customers jump thru hoops for very little benefit to them and a likely net cost to your organisation.
PS they've also clearly downgraded their customer experience recently with the launch of the new "Latitude Service Centre". Now users cannot download their transactions - despite this feature long being present under the old website. I cannot think of a single benefit of the new site - it has literally no new useful features. Customers do not appreciate new 'services' that are unambiguously worse than the old.
Not worth the hassle to me - I've shut down my account. If other users leave too then management might get the message and stop treating customers poorly. Latitude have really gone down hill - avoid.
Latitude found guilty of ripping off customers!
Latitude is a company who has a long history of ripping people off and having dishonest business practices. I just wish that I’d read the reviews earlier. Latitude has been investigated and found guilty of misleading customers and for lack of a better term, stealing of people. Avoid this Latitude at all costs as you will live to regret it otherwise!
Should be illegal in Australia
I have lodged a complaint with AFCS. There is no transparency within the app if you choose to pay your balance in full. I have been attempting to close a credit card for a week now with a $0 balance owing and still unable to as they have advised the total available balance needs to update back to the original available funds amount even though latitude advised in my recent transaction that it’s been received and remaining balance is $0. Customer service department is based in India and if it’s an account closure issue they refuse to speak to you and become quite passive aggressive when asked why. It’s actually quite terrifying that this company is able to provide services in Australia and that big retail brands are so proactively advertising them. Please avoid, they will do nothing but damage you in the long run. Very easy to apply, unnecessarily difficult to leave them.
Completely dodgy company - avoid!
I had a credit card many years ago - then recently started getting emails to remind me to pay the monthly bill. The credit card had expired years ago! Anyway, after following up I found out that for some unknown reason Latitude had decided to reactivate the account and start charging account fees! I submitted a complaint form and got the account closed (again). Disputing the charges has taken multiple emails. They don't deserve one star - avoid this company like the plague!
Poor customer service experience - questionable behaviours.
I believed I had closed an old David Jones AMEX as it was dormant and had a zero balance at the end on 2023. Apparently, it was transferred to Latitude with a $2 balance (which I can't get evidence of from Latitude), I get a letter today telling me I have been charged an annual card fee which they have now added interest to. I ring the contact center and had the worst experience. The call (as all are) was recorded. I lodged an online compliant and suggested they listen to it because I asked for the card to be closed and the person on the phone was down right rude and was actually raising their voice and using aggressive language. The response back from the online complaint was not satisfactory. Really disappointing experience which I will now have to take elsewhere to resolve. I would recommend Latitude take a closer look at their customer feedback as there are alot of common themes.
Avoid Latitude Like the Plague
I had an old Buyers Edge Card, which I took out over 20 years ago. It was dormant with a zero balance. I started to get emails from Latitude (who have taken over from LG) stating they were putting on monthly fees, as the balance was zero, I ignored them. Then I started getting emails stating my account was overdue, phone calls later I had to pay $18 account keeping fees on a zero account. I then put in a complaint with Consumer Affairs. Latitude followed up with me, and agreed to reimburse the fees and pay a small compensation $50 dollar in all. I closed the account, matter sorted I thought. Then I randomly did a credit check and found they had put a bad credit rating against me for a missed payment (which they never notified me they were doing under law) and that I had finance through them. More phone calls and screen shots sent in, I was assured this would be rectified. Two months later (Jan 2025) I get an email from Illion showing I still have a bad credit rating from Latitude with a missed payment, and I apparently still have an account with them, both incorrect. DO NOT use this mob, I suspect they want to wreck your credit rating to force you to use their higher interest products. They are nothing but sharks and should not be allowed to continue to operate in Australia.
Worst
Worst, cheater. keep awayVery poor services Unprofessional. I paid and closed account in September and received closing account letter and got phone call after 3 months saying still more then $500 still pending. What a Financial services
Extremely difficult to make contact…
Extremely difficult to make contact with support staff. Tried via App, wasted an hour, tried on my laptop waiting for a chat staff said would be roughly 5 minutes, 35 minutes later. I was forced to download the app to activate my new DJs card. No where on it does it give a phone number. I googled the number, the automated login could not understand me when I said 'Yes', by this time I had wasted over 90 minutes of my life trying to resolve a simple issue. I will be closing my account. Have been a DJs cardholder for 20 years. Will miss the cardholder specials but not worth being part of a greedy financial monolith like this. Vote with your money. Stay away.
Difficult to pay the Account
So difficult to pay the account easily. Verification does not work.
Unbelievably dreadful. Always a call queue of over 100 people.
No direct email.
Totally disfunctional when comparing VISA and Mastercard
Latitude is profiting off everyday…
Latitude is profiting off everyday Australians. Absolutely shocking conduct. We’ve paid off our account and contacted Latitude 4 times over a 6 month period to close the account. The whole time they charged late payment fees on a zero balance unbeknownst to us tanking our credit score so now we’re struggling to get a mortgage. We’ve got a complaint in with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and taken legal action. I’d encourage everyone have problems to report to AFCA.
Latitude got greedy
The 28 degrees MasterCard was an excellent product until Latitude took it over. No monthly fees and no fees for international transactions made it the ideal card for travelling overseas. Now a monthly $8 fee plus $1.95 to pay the balance using BPAY makes it uneconomical. I would have to spend $313 overseas every single month for it to be competitive with my CBA card which charges 3.5% on foreign transactions. So goodbye Latitude.
To date Latitude is still not charging fees on international transactions, which gives the card some value. The Latitude app is easy to use. I found customer service accessible, (though I did not try to contact them in the aftermath of the data breach) and helpful.
Impossible to contact
Due to their own errors our new David Jones credit card sends its validation pin to an old surface phone number instead of a mobile number, making it impossible to log in.
BTW they also attached a New Zealand area code to that very old Australian surface phone number! Total train wreck of an account transfer.
Since we’ve had a DJs account long before mobile phones existed any decent computer tech would have done a simple test to check “is this an Australian mobile number?”
Compounding their stupidity, we have found it next to impossible to reach a support person due to the same long delays reported by the others on this site.
Like others here, we wonder how best to cancel these cards when the company is so very elusive.
I cannot believe the regulator allows a company to behave like this in Australia.
This company does not even deserve one star. I feel sorry for anyone who is trapped relying on Latitude for money. Fees are absolutely ridiculous. I had a mysterious amount of 3 cents added to my account for interest when I had fully paid it off. Then because I had thought my balance was zero and did not look at the account they started charging me 10.95 per month fee on a 3 cent balance. Absolute thievery. Tried to raise an issue online and no response. Card cancelled.
Dissapointing
I was one of the individuals affected by the data breach, resulting in the need to replace my passport. Due to the breach, my identity could no longer be verified by the ATO, which prevented me from submitting my taxes. Latitude had publicly announced, and stated on their website, that they would provide refunds for such replacements. After several follow-ups and limited communication over the course of a month, I received a refund that covered less than half of the actual cost of the passport replacement, despite still having 5 years left on the previous passport. Based on this experience, I recommend exploring alternative providers, as they have not fulfilled the commitments they made.
Sneaky monthly fees even on zero balance
I can relate to the frustration expressed in many of these comments. After not using my card for two years and maintaining a zero balance, I was shocked to start receiving texts and emails about an overdue account. It turns out they quietly added a $5.95 monthly fee to my inactive account—how is that even legal? When I attempted to close the account, the process was unnecessarily complicated, making it clear they want to squeeze out another month of fees before letting me go. It’s concerning to think about how many unsuspecting customers are affected by this. If there’s ever a class action lawsuit against them, I’m definitely on board. This feels like outright theft.
Don’t deal with them
Don’t deal with them. Extremely poor phone manner by staff. They make it virtually impossible to get approved for a small amount even after providing thorough financials! Shocking!!!
Literally the worst customer service
Literally the worst customer service I have experienced.
Cannot cancel card because there is a fee outstanding. Cannot use app as it says the card is linked to another email address?? I have three and it's not linked to any. Have wasted hours trying to get any sense out of anyone. Hold time can be " up to seven days" on their recordings. When you do get through you would swear you are talking to a spammer in a foreign country. Little empathy. High fees, high interest, shocking service, long wait times and no results still. Have to beg for a paper statement to see what they are charging. Even after I paid the last one the delay in trying to cancel just led to another charge and "it can't be cancelled with a balance owing"! Next step is to advise DJ that Myer is looking good with my Visa! Shocker of a decision to abandon their customers to this outfit.
Their customer service is pathetic and…
Their customer service is pathetic and you have to literally wait for many hours to talk to customer support person and your line is also put on hold by that person and then can also be disconnected by them. If you write to their support email address no one will rely. Never seen such a degraded and pathetic customer service of any organisation so far. Hate to give this company even a single star and they don't deserve to do business.
