DO NOT SIGN UP !!!!
made me result to last minute college courses with tons to catch up on
Was meant to start at one of the study programs but my information was not passed on like i was told, called three times and was told they’d get back to me and never did, delayed my whole new education.
All they want is the first excuse to…
All they want is the first excuse to TRY and charge you the £125 thats how they make money , i didn't finish the enrollment process, didn't start any course, and they still want £125 from me, lolol oooooooooooooook.
Certificate?
On the plus side- Site was easy to navigate, course was good. I spent 30ish hours completing the initial tests and passed my level 2 course. Tutor signed off on it although no feedback. Biggest issue is that I have done all that work and passed and now for some reason they are querying my enrollment, not responding to emails and no sign of my certificate. So disappointed... But hey,
some weeks later: they finally emailed and the certificate is on its way! :-)
I had a good experience with level 2…
I had a good experience with level 2 counselling skills
Nothing but praise.
Firstly I can assure you I don't work for Learning Curve Group in any way and I have not been harassed by any of their employees in any way.
I have just signed up for my 3rd course with them, having already completed mental health first aid in the work place and understanding children and young people's mental health. The registration process is quick and easy if you read through it properly. Yes, it does mention a £125 fee BUT that's only payable if you withdraw from the course. Any issues I have had have been swiftly dealt with. My 1st tutor was absolutely amazing and gave very detailed feedback on my completed work. One of my certificates went AWOL in the post, I contacted them and another was dispatched to me.
You don't just regurgitate the information in the booklets you are encouraged to do your own research (reference where you got your information from) and also to draw on your own experiences. I genuinely have nothing bad to say and would not hesitate to do further courses with them
Borehamwood
Borehamwood, extremely disturbing experience. Deliberately did what was asked not to be done about 10 times. All because its what she was to be tested on.
The 'supervisor' was a real chav from up norf. She made matters worse and slashed my hair.
Complaint to head office, was met with promises of an investigation and call back. Never heard again. Despite chasing up MANY times.
Avoid this outfit, as they will screw up the simplest of requests. The staff were all chavy, rude and frankly vicious. Disgusting.
Very disappointed with service from…
Very disappointed with service from learning curve group and feel the are not fully trained to deal with students to assist them, customer care team are bunch of liars and useless and incompetent as it took me nearly 4 weeks simply to book an exam.
This level of incompetency is unacceptable from a professional educational body.
I will definitely repot them to governing body and ombudsmen very soon
Great company, can’t say a bad word
Can’t understand any bad reviews.. this is my third course completed with LC and it’s so easy to sign up, get started, and get help where needed..
I can’t say a bad word honestly
Those who have been charged signed a contract upon sign up stating if they change their minds or cancel they get charged which makes sense as this would mean they get charged for the course but no funding
And to the person who said the qualification wasn’t worth the paper it’s on they are all acredited qualifications all used for my university ucas points.
recommend 100%
Free ASD course
Do not use this company. They are asking for photo ID and wanted a birth certificate. They are big Scammers. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Awful company, in it for the ££ not the education
Awful company. I completed a L2 funded course with a different provider last year and had a really good experience - totally the opposite of this one. Course content and learning methods are uninspiring and the admin side is very weak - communication takes ages and nothing is followed up. Stuck with them to try and resolve issues as was threatened with paying for the course if I didn't complete it. I'll let the ombudsman decide rather than waste any more of my time.

12 weeks wasted on a construction…
12 weeks wasted on a construction course. 12 WEEKS!!! The certificate you get at the end isn't worth the paper it's printed on. CSCS won't touch it with a barge pole. I have lost 3 months of my life on this crap I can't even use. How do they get funding is what I want to know!!! There were several times I caught the "tutor" out on BS. It is NOT a course for those that think outside the box or question methodology or working practices. I already have an SMSTS before going on this course. The job centre just want to see you doing something and pay any BS company to do this kind of crap...I am fuming right now. I now have to pay an extra £100 to get my CSCS card out of my own pocket. 12 weeks and I can't even get work from it...what an absoloute waste of time....DO NOT DO IT....you have been warned!!!
bully boy scammers
I changed my mind in the first few hours when I realised what a big mistake I had made so they started threatening me with the 125 pounds withdrawal fee..I simply explained I would seek legal advice and report them to my local mp and trading standards and anyone else I can think of..has anyone on here actually paid the 125 pound so called withdrawal fee?
They ARE A CIRCUS
I couldn't log into their site and decided to cancel before I even started the course on AUTISM. They informed me I'd be liable for a £125 fee. Good luck getting that, I'm claiming my 14 day cooling off period. They're a circus.
Carol in Lancashire m in Lancashire and taking the Level…
I’m taking the Level 2 course about dementia at the moment. I have some concerns about the time scale allowed for completion and the possibility of getting a £125 fee, as well as the learning experience. It’s not so simple just refusing to pay - if they pursue it - it could change your credit score and you could be pursued by debt collection agencies. I have brought my concerns to their attention and asked for an extension. At the moment I’ve lost trust in this course provider.
They have a long statement of commitments to their students in the back of their course information, and so far they’ve failed to meet several of their own commitments.
If you want to progress a complaint you must first go through their own complaints 3 stage process - also in the back of your course documents, or you can request a copy.If you’re still not happy you can then refer it to their funder ESFA. They have a range of aspects that they can investigate but only after you’ve been through LCG’s complaints process. One of which is “The Quality, Management or Experience of Education and Training” Do EVERYTHING in writing and keep a copy or file. Date everything and keep your phone records if they text you . You need a good record of all conversations responses and dates to support your complaint. LCG are a very complex network of companies, with 3 main players and fingers in lots of pies. They’re unlikely to take much notice of an individual’s complaint, if they’re a dodgy company. But they’ll sit up when their funder gets involved
They’re turning over millions and most of it it from gov funded schemes. Nothing wrong with being successful, nothing at all, but they need to remember their company exists to serve learners - NOT the other way around. It would be useful to state your geographical location and your course if you leave review. There may be a regional failure or a problem with specific subject areas. Starting the FORMAl complaints process will be my next step.
I hope I have a better response from them going forward, but if not- this is a company that’s very very concerned with it’s image - One paper they look marvellous to funders, and tick all the boxes beautifully.
Getting organised as complainants would be more effective than moaning online.
At the moment I’m concerned that they may be more style than substance. I’ll see how it goes, and report back if possible
Oh and if you’re being charged £125 as a consumer, and you think it’s inappropriate, Trading Standards Officers are a wealth of knowledge and have a network that shares info around the country. They might choose to prosecute if something falls within their remit and start noticing this company, in al it’s various forms Effectively you may be being charged for an inadequate product.
Best of luck everyone
I was interested in doing one of these…
I was interested in doing one of these courses on young children but I changed my mind and decided not to as I wouldn't have the time in the end, I didn't tick any of the questions that u have to submit to get access to the course. I told them I was withdrawing after only a day, but told I owe £125! I told the lady I didn't even access the course and didn't tick the questions and she sent me an abrupt email back basically saying I will not be withdrawn and she I gonna send me an invoice.
I worked really hard for NOTHING!!! Homophobic
They switched the venue 3 months into the course for one which wasn't set up for doing nail technology at all. After 9 months of hard work and perfect attendance they changed the dates and times of the course (I couldn't attend because I have to work to pay my rent). The excuse they gave me is that they wanted the tutor to teach a new course in makeup in that timeslot! A few months later they had re-enrollment for this course but when I applied they said I was never allowed to take another course with them because I hadn't completed it! This wasn't the worst thing though, I came out as a lesbian during the time I was in this course and faced homophobic bullying remarks from the tutor on a daily basis. She called me "disgusting" and said that "kissing a woman is gross".
I got caught out too
I got caught out too - signed up one evening and cancelled next morning as I realised they were dodgy. Told I needed to pay £125! I told them legally there is a 14 day cooling off period. They are arguing that they are exempt - total bo**ks. if they want to take me to the small claims court they can - thinking of seeing if Martin Lewis wants to take these people on and expose their dodgy tactics.
