excelllent advice , the law is changing this year however on lease extensions so have made an appointment to discuss thanks so much for the support thus far
Selling a Leasehold flat in a converted house - the buyer's solicitor said that the flat was unsaleable and advised the buyer's mortgage company not to release funds. Thanks to the Leasehold Advisory Service we were able to point out that the Lease was written exactly in accordance with the law, and we were able to quote the relevant paragraphs of the relevant Act. The sale completed in the summer of 2021. Thank you.
Mostly the advice was predictable in suggesting choices available but was not helpful enough on what one should probably do or not do. The advice to try a last attempt at complaining formally was useful and was used. The next stage from the choices available, Court, MP, Local Authority was not helpful in that it was not explained which might be the most fitting for the circumstances.
Obviously the other side of this is that perhaps I did not give clear enough information, but I feel that in that case I should have been asked, but my feeling is that the advice must be (probably of necessity of time) a one off 'conversation'.
I was very satisfied by the advice provided by The Leasehold Advisory service. I contacted them because I needed some advice after having seen that the flat above mine was in a huge state of disrepair, looking for advice on how to proceed. They were quick to answer. They provided useful information and links where I can look for further information. I also got a reference number, in case I need to come back to them for further advice. in one world, accountable and very professional.
I have given the mark as I am happy with the service and advice I had from The leasehold Advisory service.
Happy with the advice given by LEASE. Easy to book telephone appointment online or email for advice . Would have preferred a quicker appointment and a reply to my email sooner than 10 working days but understand they are busy. Great that all advice is free so everyone has this service available to them without incurring legal fee.
It was good to be able to speak to a professional person regarding my lease and I very much appreciated their time and advice.
Great advices , very patient to listen and explain to me. Thank you so much!
Please check your records. I sent a review about two to three weeks ago.
Gentleman helped me with my enquiry. Informed me how to proceed and what powers our Residents' Association actually had.
What I needed.
Thank you.
Chair of the Residents' Association
Gulun has again provided clear and easily understandable advice. There are references to enable me to find out more information and also who to contact to progress our case further.
First time user of the service and I am really pleased to know this exists as an option. I had two queries both of which related to actions being taken by a council owned building and involved works disturbing tenants and also slow progress on essential repairs. I received guidance on my rights to complain, compensation and how to weigh up the best approach.
Excellent reply covering all aspects of the question which has resulted in me not having to ask any supplementary questions.
Promptly answering my requirement. Well explained and in details
Very helpful and able to answer my queries clearly on cladding remediation.
I was looking for clarity about leasehold misrepresentation. I have a modern leasehold and believe that it was misrepresented by the builder who omitted to state tenure anywhere in the sellers information form (Sales reservations and receipt) I spoke to a very knowledgable representative however, they were unable to clarify to me if this omission by the builder to state the property tenure on the sales reservation and receipt document was was misrepresented by the seller.
Really, really useful. I round this during a Google search and found the clips and document really helpful. However, the best thing was the legal advice. Who would have believed you could fit so much excellent advice until a 15 minute conversation? I felt much more confident in taking the next steps regarding a leak in my apartment block.
While the question raised wasn't answered directly, which may have limited the usefulness for some people, it did point me where to look to find clarification. Answers seem to be given only from a lessee's perspective. It would be helpful if advice was also available to help RTM companies so that they can be compliant with the law when dealing with fellow lessees.
