The advice received was very basic and not more than I could have found out through search online or chatGPT. The staff did not seem well trained or knowlegeable about leasehold, beyond the basics. Th... See more

Person I spoke to did nothing give me…

Person I spoke to did nothing give me any further advice than what I already knew and for some questions did not have an answer. I gave 2 stars as she was polite and did call when arranged but to be honest a waste of time.

I had 3 telephone appointments

I had 3 telephone appointments. On each occasion the advisor quickly understood the situation and provided clear & concise advice. I was impressed by the depth of their legal knowledge and the pragmatic approach. They were very helpful.

Hi Gillian, Thank you for the feedback.

We always offer as much advice as we can, however, our remit does not allow us to advise on certain topics. We only provide free initial advice and guidance to leaseholders. With this in mind, our advisers will sometimes suggest that you work with a solicitor if you have a complex issue that needs specific advice or if you need to start litigation against the landlord. We understand that the cost of a solicitor can often be unaffordable, but there are organisations that can provide free legal help if it is needed.

For example, Advocate is a charity that finds free legal assistance from volunteer barristers. It can also help determine if you are eligible to receive free legal aid: https://weareadvocate.org.uk/apply-for-help.html

If you want more advice or information on the action you can take we would be happy to help you further. If you would like to speak with another adviser you can book an appt here: https://clients.lease-advice.org/#/

Admin fee demand from Landlords…

Admin fee demand from Landlords Management Company.
I found your info informative if difficult to understand due to legal wording used. The situation appears to have quietened somewhat and we are at a stalemate although, the Management agents have offered to reduce their financial demand from 10% to 5%, a saving of £200 should I agree to continue with a new gas boiler installation in my owner occupied flat, at my own expense. I will recontact if the problem continues, many thanks so far.

Contacted the Leasehold Advisory service for advice. They took the time and offered a very full answer to my questions and because of this I am now empowered to deal with the management agency. Thank goodness we have this free very helpful advice service.

I was surprised when a reply arrived

I was surprised when a reply arrived. (not because of any issue with this service). The quality of the reply and it's content was very good. My enquiry had been relatively complex, I thought, relating to a property owner of a leasehold flat where I'd been told by the real estate agent the owner had gone into liquidation.
