Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 51 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently encountered chaotic and unhelpful customer service, often finding it difficult to reach a human and noting a lack of responsibility for issues. Many also reported significant problems with the vehicles themselves, including faulty products, unexpected breakdowns, and safety concerns. Reviewers were often frustrated by unjustified charges for excess mileage, non-existent damages, or various administrative fees and errors. However, some customers also noted positive experiences. A few people found the customer service friendly and helpful, with some reporting no issues during their lease and willingness to use the company again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. We have had a range rover evoque autobiography for the past 3 years and its spent most of the time in the garage being repaired. Lex are not interested in helping. They will only contact you if refuse to pay for the months it was off the road. Last year we didn't have it for around 7 months. Our lease is up soon so we will.be going with somebody else.. joke of a company

Terrible Customer Service

Had an EV on salary sacrifice, the car was faulty on delivery and went straight back to the deal to be fixed. After 2 weeks, I put a formal complain in only to be advised that they have 9 weeks to respond. They took the full 9 weeks and offered to let me return the car early with no termination charge. They refused to refund the lease payment and offered me a 20% refund for the inconvenience. This was the week before Chrismas so no collection until the new year but they still expected to be payed for the car and took the money through salary sacrifice.

So, why do they have one star - trust pilot will not allow zero

Tried charging for damages.

They inspected the car on collection. Car gets collected, and the next thing i know is i've been charged nearly £1000 for damages which were not present when the car left me. Luckily i had kept the collection inspection report to dispute.

Recently I sent my lease back and had to agree on a payment for a certain amount of miles the car did, I agreed and then they collected the car.

They said because they collected the car a week into the second month they not only charged me the full payment they added an entire month onto the car.

This is by far one of the most shocking stunts and quite frankly fraudulent way of seeking extra money after the agreement was signed off.

I put through a complained however I have heard nothing back since they confirmed they have received my complain

Ripping off your customers

Procuring the vehicle, hand back procedure no issues. It’s what happens when they review the damage to the vehicle at the end. I expected a little cost for wheel damage due to kerbbing, that’s natural in a valley community, I also had some scratches on the front left, that would have added up to 189, but somehow they found enough to be able to charge me 835, which is really wear and tear. Do not trust this company ever. Do yourself a massive favour, go elsewhere.

Avoid at all costs. Cowboy Alert!

If I could give zero stars I would. After returning the lease car, they wanted to change me £500 in damages that were clearly already present in the delivery report. After winning that dispute, the delivery mileage they put on their invoice was over 800 miles more than the actual delivery report. Again challenged that and won. Now I am dealing with them on glass replacement as it turns out the car had windshield damage before it was delivered and they are refusing to pay.

All in all this has cost me hours and hours of paper shuffling just to prove my case. Completely unnecessary should they have their act together.

There are plenty of leasing companies out there, so if you can I'd recommend avoiding Lex at all costs!

Worse four years …

Worst four years …
Two leased vehicles both faulty from five days old to three weeks old.
Technical, mechanical, alternator, inventor issues, DPF system, electrical intermittent issues the list never ended …
With young children in the car going in limp mode or just stopping in the road due to poor electrics and died hazards lights
Absolutely shocking
Cause nothing but stress and anxiety and I’m a confident driver this company broke that!

Awful experience

Awful experience. I chose to go down the electric route and it has been nothing but a headache.
When I first received the Audi e-tron, a full charge showed around 210 miles of range. After just one year, the full charge range has dropped to around 132 miles. Lex arranged for the car to be inspected but advised they do not consider this a fault and told me to contact Audi directly. Unfortunately, Audi have also been unhelpful and are fully booked until the end of May.
I have also raised two complaints regarding faults with the vehicle. Each time I was told it could take up to eight weeks for a response. I have chased multiple times and estimate I have spent around 15 hours on calls trying to get an update.
To make matters worse, my complaint was closed without resolution, meaning I now have to log a new complaint and potentially wait another eight weeks.
Overall, the experience has been extremely frustrating and time-consuming. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Lex Autolease.

Avoid Lex Autolease at all costs

Would give minus stars but I can't.

15th March the charge flap on my car will not open and I have about 60 miles of charge left. Booked the car in for repairs using Lex repairs portal, the local garages to me can not look at the issues until the end of April, 5 weeks away.

The level of service and support that I have since recieved from Lex Autolease is absymal.

I now have a car that I will have to make 2 monthly payments for but can not drive it unil the day that it is booked in for repairs.

Avoid this compnay at all costs and do not make the mistake that I have made.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs.
Our financed Tesla was unfortunately written off in December. The total loss dept advised that we’d have the initial payment pro-rata’d and refunded by now. Chased up the refund as we’ve ordered another car (with another provider) planning to use this. Now they are telling us, I have to put in a ‘dispute’ for them to look into it and ‘calculate it’ and it’ll take up to 10 days.
Trying to speak to one person to resolve something is impossible - they cut you off, pass you around or fob you off with emails and call backs that don’t materialise. They use jargon to confuse you.
I’m not confident they’ll resolve this for us. I’ll escalate to FOS if not.

I had a lease car agreement with Lex… shocking customer complaints manager

I had a lease car agreement with Lex Auto for 4 years. I extended the contractual term on a short term basis and they agreed to reduce the monthly costs but then they actually increased the monthly charge. In addition to this issue when I returned the car they said that there was some damage to the car and sent me and invoice - I questioned the process and asked for a copy of my contract to review the clauses and see if I was actual liable.. they never sent me the contract and therefore I didn't pay the invoice £240 and then the put a credit mark against my name which has resulted in me being declined for a mortgage. I contacted there customer service team and they informed that they reviewed my case and I didn't ask for a copy of my contract. I then requested a copy of all my telephone calls with them (under GDPR rights) and they sent me an empty file on the date that I requested a copy of the contract. The company have been very unethical and there customer service manger in my opinion has lied to me and deleted information to cover his poor handling of my case. I am taking the company to court and I would strong recommend you use another leasing company. John Lisburn Northern Ireland

Hands down the most incompetent lease company I’ve ever dealt with. Have had our Tesla almost 3 weeks & I’ve still not been added to the car. Numerous emails, phone calls & they’re just not bothered. Will likely get no response to this review, & the wait goes on😴

EV a fire risk. Lex not bothered. EX30.

I have a Volvo EX30 with Lex on salary sacrifice. It needs to be noted that I am a firefighter for a living. Volvo advised the car cannot be charged above 70% as a potential fire risk. They then also advised that I shouldn’t leave the car charging unattended. Which I can’t do, as I can only charge to 70% I then need to charge at work on a fire station in order to get home. Given my job I cannot stay with the vehicle.
Told Lex all of this. Went through the complaint with them. They told me after four weeks they’ll give me and update and have a final response after 8 weeks.
At four weeks I contacted them, they told me it was with senior management and someone would call me. They didn’t and when I followed it up the guy told me that nobody had said they would call me back.
At eight weeks they told me they still had no answer and were extending the complaint for another 4 weeks.
Needless to say I’m not happy. I’m attempting to reject the vehicle as not fit for purpose also on safety grounds with no termination fee. I’m waiting a reply from both the Financial Ombudsman and BVRLA. Lex customer service has been shocking and none existent. How is this company allowed to operate! Any new customers be warned. Signed the firefighter driving around in the fire risk.

Lex Autolease was terrible when we purchased our leased car

Lex Autolease was terrible when we purchased our Tesla from them after three years of leasing. They failed to transfer ownership to us, essentially now rendering our car useless for potentially days or weeks until we receive our V5c. In addition, their customer service was incredibly uninformed, unhelpful and rude when I tried to request assistance with the situation.

Tesla informed us that Lex Autolease should have "transferred ownership" to us as soon as we purchased it, which would have meant a seamless transition of ownership. Instead, they released the vehicle, leaving us to restart the process of claiming ownership after receiving the V5c. This is a much longer process that essentially means we're unable to use our purchased car for days or potentially weeks, until the V5c has been delivered to us.

Don’t get an electric car from lex autolease ripoff

Audi E-tron GT, broke down 112 days ago, car still not fixed, still paying £959 a month, lex auto lease don’t care about there customers, they have only offered £2,700 and that is there final decision even thou I have paid so far £3,836 and they said car may still be another month so my payments will be £4795, also was 65 days without a car, then they got a car which is £200 a month but I still have to pay full amount of £959, and refused to terminate the contract even though the contract finishes this year, manager Wayne manning kept on talking over me ,and wouldn’t let me speak, even though I was calm and polite , I have the date and time of conversation so lex autolease can check the call

would strongly caution anyone…

would strongly caution anyone considering Lex Autolease.

My experience has been incredibly frustrating and stressful from start to finish. I have been dealing with recurring faults on my vehicle, including serious brake issues, and the handling of the situation has been poor throughout.

Communication has been slow, inconsistent, and at times dismissive. I have repeatedly had to chase for updates, clarity, and next steps. For a company of this size, I expected a far more structured, customer-focused approach — especially when safety concerns are involved.

While they eventually offered to take the car back, this would have left me without a vehicle and significantly disrupted my daily life, including work commitments and transporting my child to school and activities. There was little evidence of understanding the practical impact this situation has had on me.

The overall experience has felt reactive rather than proactive, with minimal ownership taken to resolve matters efficiently or empathetically. Leasing a vehicle should provide convenience and peace of mind — instead, this has created unnecessary stress.

I would not choose to lease through Lex Autolease again.

I’m writing on behalf of my brother who has given up on them, I just want people to know how low this company will go

My brother leased a Nissan Qashqai from new and was happy with the price, when his deal was up he asked to extend the contract for another 2 years, which they did.
Since then and shortly after taking the new contract my brother has been dealt with an aggressive form of cancer, he has now lost the use of his legs and is bed bound so has no use for the vehicle which is costing him £360 PCM which is money he could do with

He rang Lex Leasing up and asked if he could cancel the contract, he explained what he was going through but they didn’t care, they told him he could pay it off with a lump sum or he had to honour the 24 month contract

What makes matters worse they didn’t even take into account he had between 6 - 18 months to live
