Cheap for a reason

Horrible battered fish bought from Prestatyn branch. Trying to contact customer services to complain is impossible. Lidl are a 3rd rate outfit- and that's why we continue to do 90% of our weekly shop at Tesco.

we used to buy a 6 pack of Freeway Low Cal Tonic each week because it tasted ok and was good value - but not any more - fed up with throwing full bottles away because they were flat on opening. Rubbish Quality

This is specifically about SOL&MAR

This is specifically about SOL&MAR
Chicharricos Pork Scratchings which have previously been subject of a recall for salmonella contamination (I didnt know that until I started digging) Mine were not from that batch but they tasted rancid as if they were cooked in dirty oil. LIDL really need to check their suppliers more carefully. These were without doubt the worst pork scratchings I have ever eaten.

Zero customer service support as there's no way to contact

An issue with my local store in Falmouth - tried to speak to them no joy. Thought I'd try to email, no email available, none of the phone lines connect to any human - either now out of service or just told to try later. The chat bot just goes into a doom loop and the contact us form doesn't send. Perhaps they don't want to speak to you if things aren't quite working but I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Ladies and gentlemen

Ladies and gentlemen, be careful with chicken, pork, and beef from Lidl, especially the pre-cooked, spiced versions. The meat smells like rotting corpses. While it was roasting, the whole apartment started to stink. We had to open all the windows, and the meat ended up in the trash can outside. A week ago, my wife broke a tooth eating pre-cooked beef patties because they contained a piece of green bone. We are stopping shopping at this store. Be careful with your health and what you buy at Lidl.

Racial Abuse At LIDl Hounslow

Dear Lidl Customer Relations,
I want to report about an incident that occurred during my visit to the Lidl Hounslow Hospital Road store on the evening of 16 June 2026, I have my small coupon printed after payment, with barcode date at bottom 16.06.26 and time 18:41 left hand side have a number 2061 461445/77
When I entered the store, there were no shopping baskets or trolleys available. As a result, I limited my shopping to a few items that I could carry by hand. After selecting my items, I joined the queue for the self-checkout area and waited for a free checkout terminal.
Once a self checkout became available, I scanned my items and completed payment using the bank card. Immediately after I tapped payment terminal, a member of staff instructed the next customer in the queue to proceed to my self checkout station, even though I had not yet collected my purchased items.
Customer, a lady approached the checkout and started starring at my face. I politely explained that I had not yet picked up my shopping items and asked her to wait briefly while I gathered my items. She responded that the staff member had instructed her to proceed. I again politely requested the customer to please wait until my shopping items were collected and placed in my shopping trolley.
At that point, the male staff member did not intervene and then made a comment to the lady customer, "Let the Indian man go, he is sick."
I found this comment deeply inappropriate, offensive and distressing. My nationality and ethnicity were completely irrelevant to the situation and doing this in front of other customers caused me significant embarrassment and humiliation.
After collecting my items, I approached another female member of staff and I requested her to speak with the store manager regarding what I believed to be a racially offensive and disrespectful comment made by Lidl staff at self checkout. I was informed by the staff that no manager was available. However female staff member apologised for the experience and arranged for another colleague to speak with me.
Asian male staff member then approached and asked what had happened. I explained the incident in full. He stated that he would ensure the matter was conveyed to the staff concerned. I then asked how I could make a formal complaint. He advised me to use the Lidl Plus app. I asked please could you guide me how to use Lidl plus app for reporting a compliant, but was unable to show me how to do so. He then stated that there was a poster outside the store explaining how to make a complaint, but he did not direct me to its location or show it to me.
This entire experience left me feeling disappointed, disrespected, and unwelcome as a customer.
What makes this incident particularly upsetting is that I have been a regular Lidl customer for many years. I have shopped frequently at the Southall Broadway store, as well as stores in Hayes and other locations and I have generally had positive experiences. I have often recommended Lidl to friends and family, particularly because of the quality of its product range and specially for bakery items. Also I had recently enrolled for LIdl plus app and recommneded my friends, work colleagues, relatives and my network that Lidl has amazing products like Italiamo very exclusive quality products.

I therefore find it especially disappointing that my visit to the Hounslow Hospital Road store on 16.06.2026 evening resulted in what I consider to be an inappropriate and racially insensitive comment made in front of other customers.

It’s a Good bye for Lidl I won't return back to Lidl any more neither recommend Lidl.

Thak You LIDL.

I saw a lovely act of kindness at Tovil Lidl near Maidstone. Sylvie the cashier paid for an elderly man's shopping when his new card failed. The old gentleman said he would come back and pay her as he had no money on him. This was a terrific act of kindness Lidl you are so lucky to have her! I was smiling all the way home!

The staff in this store are very friendly and are always willing to help with any questions. Overall the store in general is very clean and well displayed, which allows for a straightforward shopping experience!

Terrible experience

I had similar experience as the other reviews but in lidl Devonshire road Blackpool. I am 62 and got bullied by staff because I asked if someone could serve me as there were no tills open but 3 members of staff having a lovely chat.
I got told to wait as they were talking then they were rude and dismissive towards me and very intimidating Lidl has really gone down hill I will not be shopping there again. Clearly this behaviour isnt in just one store as the staff behaviour is very similar.
Aldi are much more customer focused helpful and friendly.

Deflated chicken

Bought a "large chicken" roasted it to perfection. Pierced it and it somehow DEFLATED barely any meat, weirdest experience of my life. Golden skin pierced then suddenly no meat. Was the weirdest thing ever.

Worst place to shop in, especially Beckton claps gate

Staff need training in customer services and diversity

Not a place I would go back to...was a customer when it first opened...never again, rather shop in an better area where customer service is on point and no attitude or behaviour from staff

Short life tools

With two workshops a distance apart I brough a second angle grinder Parkside PWS 125 F6 for the second. Just occasional use.

I always wondered how reliable Lidls electric and petrol tools. Now I know.

Parkside angle grinder probably used half a dozen. Short light use. Today it spluttered then spewed acrid smoke.

Lidl nonsense.

So as if the till and queue system at my local Lidl wasn't bad enough already, now they've started blanket ID-ing everybody, literally 80 year olds! Lol. Perhaps they should spend greater attention to making sure there are baskets available at the door for customers, or teaching staff how to stack a shelf so I don't have to constantly ask about prices. Management obvs to blame, not the generally lovely staff.

Met the area manager(useless) this…

Met the area manager(useless) this morning and informed him of my problem. He's just another waffle merchant and even more disingenuous than the useless managers under him. There have been a few good ones but mostly, they are useless. Kevin is the only one who, quite literally, protects his staff.

Lidl and visual impairment

Being visually impaired I was annoyed with the indifference shown by the Lidl store manager when I complained that the displayed price was not obviously clear that it applied to those with the Lidl + card, as the labelling is too small.
