No self checkouts

No self checkouts, huge queues even just for 2 items. Also no options for lactose free and extremely poor selection for gluten free.. so useless to us. Won't shop there anymore.

Just purchased some Vietnamese hot and sour soups at your Castlerea store. Out date since the 25/10/25. Contacted customer service with regards to this and a past experience . Was literally blown off and antagonised by the rep. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Study your receipt as mistakes are made

I did not know that the items that were on special value one had to use your Lidl plus app. I was never asked about the Lidl app when I was paying for the items in the Lidl Store Churchfield Cork. Then I was charged twice for clementines in a punnet which I did not get only in the netting bag.I was very dissatisfied with Lidl in Churchfield

This evening went to Lidl to purchase…

This evening went to Lidl to purchase some Alcohol, the gentleman(being kind at the till was simply angry and obnoxious. A heavy set gentleman with beard (on till at 2040 on this evening Sunday) that has only been on staff of late but a decided impediment to the service that we normally get in this wonderful outlet. The outlet is the main one on Edward street in Tralee. This is not my first experience of this individual and trust me ,he is in the wrong job

Made up policies to not handle return

It’s really disappointing to give one star to a store that has been my go-to for years, the store on Dublin road, Mullingar. Today, I brought back two boxes of lamb mince that I purchased just three days ago. The meat was putrid—brownish-grey in color and smelled terrible—even though it was still two days within the use-by date.

When I spoke to two customer service representatives, they told me it’s store policy not to accept returns of chilled items more than one hour after purchase. They also said they weren’t responsible for how I stored the meat. However, I showed them my receipt, which included several other meat products stored in the exact same way—and all of those were perfectly fine.

Despite this, they dismissed my concerns, insisting it was “store policy.” I left quietly, as I didn’t want to cause a scene, but I felt embarrassed and treated like someone trying to pull a scam. This behavior is unacceptable. To make matters worse, when I later called Lidl customer service, I was told that such a policy doesn’t actually exist.

With food prices constantly rising, it’s frustrating to have to throw away €10 worth of spoiled meat due to the store’s negligence. Sadly, this experience has made me decide to stop shopping there, even though it’s the closest store to my home.

(Lidl Rathfarnham) What an absolute joke…

(Lidl Rathfarnham) What an absolute JOKE of a store. I’m 25 years old, went in to buy THREE tiny cocktails with just 3% alcohol, along with some other stuff and was flat-out refused because I didn’t have my physical ID on me, while pictures of different documents were showed proving my age. Seriously? It’s insulting, ridiculous, and a complete waste of my time.
And the staff member who “dealt” with me? Rude beyond belief. Instead of showing basic respect, he spoke down to me, smirked, and treated me like I was some sort of child trying to sneak booze. The arrogance and attitude were unbelievable.
This isn’t customer service — it’s humiliation. Lidl clearly doesn’t care about common sense or treating people decently. Losing customers over something this pathetic shows just how useless their policies (and training) are. I left the store furious, embarrassed, and 100% certain I won’t be coming back.
