Tried to use the Lidl plus app recently largely unsuccessfully, all I can deduce is it’s a result of a TY project and not a credible app aimed at rewarding customer loyalty. Not to mention no consideration for accessibility needs or elderly users.

Not even a sophisticated scam this time, but still an attempt to rob me again.

Rip Off Scammers

I refuse to be anyone's blasted muppet.

The scam involved a 99c offer that turned out to be 1.80 at the till

The scam was that the price applied to "Lidl plus", which I do not use.

The price was clearly displayed in large figures with the details that the price was conditional hidden away somewhere. I never saw the fiddle until I checked the receipt after purchase.

This has to be illegal or fraudulent.

Anyway I see such a trick as an indication that the company simply wants to profit from its customers and cares little about decency and honest trading, instead they are trying to treat them like fools by cheating them out of their money.

It will be their loss, not mine. I will just shop around more and avoid the scammers unless I know for a fact they are charging less than any other vendor of the product of interest.

Cheating customers again and again

Despite appearing to be value for money, Lidl is actually quite expensive thanks to their unethical behavior. Basically, anytime they have fruit or vegetables on special, they throw in old, gone off products with a few ok items. It's shoddy, dishonest & misleading. I've no doubt they're not the only ones but it's not right. I just had to throw 60% of the mandarins I bought today in the bin as they were soft and smelled like they were gone off.

Security guard needs manners/training!!!

I was in lidl in Cork St. Wednesday 21/08/24. Before I start my shopping I always put my empty bags into my trolley, I think everyone puts their bags into their trolleys. I got my shopping and waited in line to pay. When I finished paying for my items, I packed my bags and headed out of the shop. At the door I was approached by a very very rude, ignorant and a clearly untrained, immature security guard. He told me that the new rules in the shop is "No one is allowed to put their empty shopping bags in the trolley (at first I really taught he was joking) so I just said aww everyone puts their empty bags in their trolleys because there was nowhere else to put them and he just looked at me and said if he saw me with the bags in my trolley again he would bar me from the shop for ever. I have been shopping in lidl's in Cork St for years now and have never been approached by someone as ignorant and rude in my entire life. I could not believe what happened because the staff in lidl are always really polite and helpful and professional at all times. The security guards I can only imagine is employed by a security company or do not get any training whatsoever.

CHECK YOUR SYSTEM

Hey lidl! Check your system as it doesnt work on some sale products. We've been buying the 3 for 9 but when they swipe it it goes to original price! Also a lot of free treats have been wasted. We got the product coz its listed as free, but when you see the receipt, you still paid for that. SO RECHECK YOUR SYSTEM IF ITS STILL WORKING!

Drill & Battery but no charger

This is no criticism of Lidl store staff. More the backroom organisation. I have bought a 12v battery powered drill and a 12v rechargeable battery to go with it. However no 12v battery chargers are on sale in either on my local Lidl stores and staff advised me that are fed up of complaining to HQ. I contacted Lidl service centre, having eventually made contact via X (Twitter). Given a phone number with promise of help. No good as that dept only deal with returns and I must buy charger in a Lidl shop. Groundhog day

Appalling

Everytime you go there the special offers on the app are unavailable/sold out. Not sometimes..... EVERY TIME. Lidl know EXACTLY how many of any particular item they sell on a regular week, they also know how many customers each shop in every store and can easily predict how much uplift stock they will need for a particular offer. They don't do this because they use the special offers to get people in the door fully knowing they won't be available. Disgusting.

Lousy Lidl

No stars if I could!!!!!!
I saw a TV add today 1st August offering a sale on barbeques etc (33%). I had seen some outdoor heaters recently in my Balbriggan store so headed around to purchase one. One left, lugged it All the way to checkout and asked the security guy if it was definitely in the sale yes, so queued up at the busy till and lugged the product up onto the belt. When scanned, it was 149 Euros. I told the operator it was on sale (100 Euros),but turned out only if you had Lidl Plus, which I no longer have. Both my wife and I had to get rid of this from our phones due to the memory it used and rubbish advertising. Do you want it, no not at that price. Moved on to the next customer, next, leaving the product on the belt.....well, one less local customer for Lidl. Now. Plenty of others to judging by some of the reviews. Ironically, best supermarket is their slogan. Maybe get real guys 👦

Recent visit to 2 staff said the could not help me Lidl Carrick

Recent visit to Lidl Carrick, both hands full with a basket and a bag.
Asked 2 members if staff if someone could assist me with 4 x large plastic storage containers I wanted to buy.
One said if need to get a trolley. Essentially ‘no I can’t help’ dressed up as a redirect.
The other / said … too busy.
As someone with an invisible disability… I left very disappointed.
