Clonmel Lidl Basket case Manager

Clonmel Lidl.. Hadnt the means to buy bags for all the pasta and rice i purchased nor had i change to go out and get a trolley so i attempted to use a blue basket. Unfortunately, as I was carrying the basket out, the alarm went off to which the staff at till roared down to me that i couldn't take the basket . I asked politely if i could speak to a manager to explain that i just wanted to lift the trolley to my car and i would bring it back immediately. The manager wasnt having any of it and repeated over and over that he had to do paperwork everytime the alarm went off. I found it bemusing when he grabbed my basket and rolled it back through the security scanners to demonstrate this. Wont he now have more ''paperwork'' to do ?! He then took my basket full of shopping and rolled it to the stacking area and said there was signs everywhere. Found him to be very hostile in the act of taking the shopping i had just purchased away from me and found it a bit demeaning to be yelled at. I wont be returning.

Lack of safety, disappointing management

If I could give 0 stars I would.

Today, a staff member sped through the aisles with a large pallet. Slamming into the basket my 7 year old was luckily pushing in front of her.

Completely ignored my daughter, abruptly said "sorry I didn't see her" and sped off.

I was also pushing my 3 month old in the buggy, whom could have been hit and was a bit shaken up by the whole thing.

I wasn't happy with how it was handled and felt I should talk to the manager before I left. Low and behold the woman that hit her was the manager.

Still didn't adress my daughter, didn't ask if she was okay and was too busy to show any humanity or concern.

I would have been happy with some sign of being sorry and a simple apology to my daughter but she didn't give two shits.

Will not be returning

I bought a toaster with a three year warranty in january 2024. It crashed, flashing light etc in October. I returned to two local shops, got wrong information. Eventually told to contact Customer service. They told me I would be contacted within fourteen days. I am now two weeks without this item and still waiting. This service is a disgrace.
I will be contacting consumer rights if its not resolved very soon.

Wrong advertising

3 meat products mix and match 9.00. At till it came to more than 9.00. I was told I had to have a lidl plus app to get offer. In big print mix and match for 9.00. Then has a very small lidl plus logo. I you not see it and the logo meant nothing to me. I think it is important we ask for receipt and I think advertising should be clear

Parkside as sold by Lidl Ireland

Lidl sells Parkside equipment and gives a three-year guarantee when you buy. In early 2023 I bought a Parkside high-hedge cutter. When I took it out to use it in June 2024 the motor worked but the cutting head refused to move - as it turned out due to wear-and-tear according to Parkside. I have a small garden and had only used the tool on a few occasions.
Lidl referred us to Parkside who informed us that the head was not an intrinsic part of the hedge cutter, but was seen as an accessory. Accessories only have a one-year guarantee and we had just passed the guarantee time. They and Lidl refused to take any responsibility. I am writing this review to alert people about the worthlessness of the three-year guarantee.

Dear Friends in Ireland .

Dear Friends in Ireland .

I would like to aleart u all that I am a regular customer of Lidl almost every day as I happen to stay next to Lidl .

My daily shopping limits is around € 10.

Many times found that after billing when we check there would be huge variations .

When checked found out that that the counter staffs are playing foul game as they are cheating the customers for few cents.

I had 3 times worst experience twice in Blanch Lidl and once in Tyrrelstown branch.

When approached the billing staff to rectify they said sorry sir every time.

Dear Management Staff of Lidl

Request your kind interference to this concern as this is tarnishing your organisations image.

Thanks

Appreciation on Lidle staff for Ireland Branches

I would like to gratitude for Lidle super market stores / outlets staffs and Management especially in Ireland, Clonmel, Davis Road branch Manager Mr. David and mostly I see him assisting all internally and cashier seat Mr. Vladimir, Mr. Aden as he is young and recently from I can see him in the cash counter and others too for their pleasant behavior and fruitful approach and all purchasing and products doubts and all I felt from my deep heart to recognise them well and always they are in my memory.
Past 4 years I was dealt with lidle outlets in Malta, safi area and Qormi too, but compare to all in Ireland I have had very good experience with Lidle.
Mr. David is seeing always busy with arranging things and hard working personnel there. Also I use to visit occasionally at Queen Street branch also, it's the same feelings and experience is also there too.

Thank you very much and I assure you this review is doing by myself and even they have no acknowledgement about it.

Sincerely yours,

Abdul Kareem Aboobacker
Vehicle Inspector

Overcharged at Lidl (Childers Road)

Just back from Lidl (Childers Road Limerick) checked my receipt and found that I paid twice for 2 items, chicken breast 500g €4.59 and a block of cheddar €2.27,so basically I overpaid almost 7 euro for nothing, the guy at the checkout was talking on his headphones at all times while scanning my items. Very unprofessional, I probably won't be back to this shop again

CAVEAT EMPTOR

CAVEAT EMPTOR - Do not buy petrol products from this company. I bought a chain saw in May 24 from LIDL in Leixlip. Stopped working after 20 mins, they refused to do a refund at the store and referred me to their cust service app. Ive been near 5 months trying to get a refund. They are atrocious to deal with, they constantly state someone will contact to process and they never do and blatantly lie that they tried ringing. How this organisation is in business is beyond me. I was a weekly shopper although i will never step foot in one of their stores again and I'll warn family and friends of my experience.

Lidl is a disaster

This company is a disaster. If you come here for shopping, park in a regular parking bay, but leave your car for 90 minutes, some arogant company hired by Lidl, will clamp your car. And they will not let you out until you pay 120 EUR. Like road rober in ancient time. Not let you go until you pay. No matter you have shop receipt. Staff will ignore you. Clamping company service will not let you speak to the supervisor or anyone in charge. Lidl customer service will ignore you, in very rude and arogant way, accusing you of breaking the law. They treat you like enemy and criminal, requesting 120 EUR of you, after you just spent money on shopping in Lidl. Insane attitude, they just lost whole family of customers, who was buying in Lidl for 20 years. Unbelievable. I am truly shocked. Extremely not recommended.

Bought a sabre saw in Lidl in April

Bought a sabre saw in Lidl in April, it worked for 5 minutes. It took from April to August to get it sent back for repair. Eventually got it sent back to their agents end of august but to date it has not been returned. The service is horrendous and I will never buy anything from them again. Their customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. I will buy in a shop where I can bring it back if it’s goes wrong. They should be ashamed of themselves to treat customers like that. What’s the point of Lidl giving a 3 year warranty.
