Total mismanagement of transfer of funds. following complaint submitted and request for compensation.
Please accept this as my formal complaint for investigation and complensation due to clerical errors by Life Sight in miss managing the fund transfer of my pension to AVIVA which has resulted in delays in them being able to set up my endowment policy and payment of pension.
The details are as follows:
• In May 2025 I completed all the correspondence to arrange for the funds available to be transferred to Aviva who was arranging my endowment policy. Part of this transfer was the request for me to receive the 25% tax free lump sum.
• On the 5th June 2025 I received a letter requesting that I validate my address. I therefore responded immediately providing Octopus energy and First Direct Gold Card statement.
• On the 10th June 2025 I received a further letter which was extremely concerning with regards to validating the company that I was taking out the endowment before you would transfer the funds. This letter identified the if a red flag was identified then I “would lose my statutory right to this transfer, and the trustees much refuse this transfer request” At this time your company was already aware that I was using Aviva which you transfer to on a regular basis”. Therefore, this check and the pressure and concern inflicted on me was unnecessary and introduced further delays.
• I received a letter to confirm that you had transferred the funds to Aviva for them to complete my endowment policy. This was 3 months after submitting my documents. However, you transferred the entire amount and did not pay the 25% lump sum amount to me. In discussing this with your agent they advised that they will need to contact Aviva and have them return the funds to yourselves so that you can then send me the 25% and the remainder back to Aviva.
• 8th August 2025 Aviva advised me that they had returned the incorrect funds to you for your company to action and return the correct amount.
• On the 28th August I was sent a second request to resubmit my application (already done) so that you could process the correct transfer of funds. i.e. 25% to me and the remainder to Aviva.
• However, I was away at the time and this was completed and sent to you on the 10th September 2025, (by email) after talking to your company regarding Aviva signing form 3 who agreed that you had the details and their signature on the original application was not required. I received an acknowledgement on the 12th September 2025 that the resubmitted forms had been received.
• 15th September 2025 I received an email acknowledging the fault and confirming that “Regarding the delay in paying your tax-free lump sum, LifeSight will calculate any potential interest lost due to this delay and address it once your retirement request is fully processed.” Which I have received not payment of lost interest on the amount transferred to me.
• 18th September 2025 four months following the original request I received confirmation that the funds had been transferred to Aviva and the 25% to myself.
• 31st October 2025 I finally received confirmation from Aviva that following receipt of your funds they have set up the endowment policy which will only commence payment of pension on the 5th November 2025 onwards. Monthly payments will be £496.56.
Based upon the stress and difficulties your company has caused me, along with the delays in correctly transferring the funds to Aviva which entailed having to have them returned. Lifesight has essentially, delayed payment of my pension from this endowment by at least 4 months which allows for a period of two months for Lifesight to transfer the correct funds in the first place and giving Aviva reasonable time to set up the policy. Therefore, taking into consideration the delay caused by Lifesight I have now missed four payments of pension totally £1,986.24.
Therefore, I am seeking compensation from Lifesight of £1,986.24 and wish to agree an additional amount for damages due to stress and all the additional work I had to undertake to get this sorted. This included the original delays following the initial request to transfer with additional checks and proofs requested which should have been part of the original submission and not a second thought.

Like many of the reviews below I've been trying to transfer my pension away from Lifesight since JUNE! They make it impossible and ask for a ridiculous amount of unrelated documentation to put up hurdles. Will then pretend they've not received them and send a generic email that they are still waiting for the documentation. So far I've filled in 6 pages of a form, provided 3 months payslips, 3 months bank statements, my employment contract, a pension benefit statement and a summary of my pension contributions for the past 3 months. Comparatively I filled in an online form with another provider, verified my ID and 14 days later the transfer was complete, whereas with Lifesight 4 months and still ongoing! Save yourselves the time and effort and avoid the headache. In addition to the above I've tried to resolve over the phone and been promised callbacks that I am still waiting for weeks later!! Close to giving up!

I have been trying to consolidate my pension since June and LifeSight make it deliberately absolutely impossible to leave by endless and pointless emails and unhelpful comms. What a shamble of a company. Shame on you for wasting our time.

I recently contacted LifeSight Pensions regarding my pension plan and arranged a callback. I was fortunate to be contacted by Carmel, who was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and patient throughout our conversation. She took the time to answer all my concerns with clarity and care.
What truly stood out was Carmel’s follow-up—she sent a detailed email that helped me better understand everything we discussed. Her dedication and kindness made a real difference. I genuinely wish there were more people like Carmel in the world.
Carmel is a true credit to LifeSight. Thank you, Carmel!

I have been trying to transfer my pension from an old occupational scheme to another occupational pension scheme (Aviva) . It is like they are using some form of A.I. but a stupid version. This transfer stated in June and just complete a the end of Oct 25. They put up so many hurdles and make it as difficult as possible. Do you know they won't even read this and send out a rely.

I reached age 55 on 21 September 2025 and decided to take my lump sum. I completed all the paperwork online and submitted it before the retirement date. I received my lump into my bank account on 8 October 2025. The process was straightforward and I had no issues.

Very informative. Q&A was a very important element for me and would welcome further opportunity to ask further questions. Thanks

I am awaiting for the LifeSight to transfer my assets to a newly created for me LifeSight account with the cash tax free amount to be send to me. My retirement application was sent to LifeSight back in August this year and since then I am still waiting for some information on this simple task (this matter should be completed between 4-6 weeks max). Calling the Customer service team is rather pointless as their knowledge is limited. They continuously keep referring to the Admin Team, which in my eyes, this Admin Team seem to be not capable to do their job or simply manage their workload.
This is now, unfortunately almost 3rd month since my application was sent to them and I’m still hearing "the admin team will get in touch with me…"…..or " this will be expedited now".....but still nothing! I'm still waiting.....an date can not be provided???

No issues at all when I was paying into the scheme. Trying to transfer out to another provider has been a challenge.
Completed all transfer forms and forwarded via the other provider as requested and then advised WTW didn’t receive the correct forms and it’s been a weekly grind to eventually get confirmation transfer will happen and numerous email requests for more forms to be completed despite calls confirming nothing else to do
No idea on timeline so definitely feels like I have made the right call to move away - hopefully funds will transfer soon.
What worries me further is I used to work for WTW, but on the insurance side, but still all a drag to get over the line

I have tried to transfer out my pension- a month now and still in the process. Lifesight have been very slow in responding to my request and making it almost impossible to transfer out my pension. I wouldn't use them. They keep asking for new docs or to sign documents again. Awful experience.
