Terrible service

Terrible service. Product hadn't arrived 2 months after ordering, emailed and was told it would another 6 weeks minimum! Would've given 5 starts if they'd told me upfront that there was going to be a delay.

Good customer service

As described in a number of other reviews, my order was delayed, but this was understandable with COVID and because I ordered over Christmas, so I wasn’t too bothered. When the light fittings eventually turned up all seemed fine, but when they were being installed it became clear that one was damaged in the box. I contacted the company and they immediately sent a replacement at no additional cost. So whilst it was a pain to receive a broken light fitting, at least their customer service is good.

Great experience, return customer

I have bought twice from Lighting Styles with no issues. For each purchase I received an email confirmation of my order, another email advising the order had been processed and ready for dispatch, and another email with the tracking details. Both orders were dispatched within the advised timeframe on the product page, one was actually dispatched earlier than expected. No issues at all, great communication in my opinion, the stock levels and lead time are displayed on the product page so make sure you check that as some items are longer lead times than others.

Generally recommended, but with some minor issues

In general, all good and recommended but my personal experience was not hassle-free and hence only 4 stars. The lamp arrived later than promised, though on the plus side, I was informed about the expected delay. More importantly, it arrived damaged, and not really matching the manufacturing quality suggested by the pictures. I contacted the merchant, a replacement was sent promptly which I was happy with and they organised the pickup of the original lamp with DPD which all went generally OK. The communication with the merchant was excellent throughout so this definitely helped.

Absolute joke of a company! DO NOT BUY

Absolute joke of a company!! Do not buy! Cheap materials used that break! Not sure where they’ve got their good reviews from absolutely disgusting customer service! Purchased x3 lamps costing me £415 in total took an absolute age to arrive! We have only been using for two months and have been placed safely on a dressing table! I carefully dusted the bulb over the weekend and something dropped from the lamp! A piece of plastic had come away from the bottom of the lamp not even in the area that I was dusting!!!! So it now doesn’t even stand correctly as the legs slide apart!!!! As you can imagine I was livid seeming this has only been used for two months well..... not even that long as it’s not switched on every day! Any how, I contacted customer services sent pictures for evidence and their response was “ there’s nothing they can do for accidental damage claim off your home insurance” What a joke!!!! The lamp was clearly faulty when it arrived and has fallen apart over a short time! I did not damage this lamp by dusting the light bulb it Cleary way already cracked! The Customer Services Manager said that we accepted the condition of the lamp and it’s our fault that we didn’t notice it! Urm..... I’m sorry but when I purchase new goods I don’t except to have to look at it closely for small cracks do I!!! She also mentioned the warranty only covers electrical! So...... what if the lamp had arrived to me in a thousand pieces then would that be our fault! This company needs to be reported to trading standards absolutely disgusting the way we have been treated!! The Customer Services Manager also said she didn’t care about us writing a bad review and we could do what we like so here we are!
So..... update on our review here to the lies that have been written by the company below!!
Firstly...... we were honest we did say that when I was dusting the bulb that the bottom of the light had broken off!!! At no point did we say that this did not happen. Happy to prove by the email that I sent the company!!! So not sure what the company is trying to make us look like we are the dishonest ones here! The Customer Services Manager did not even give us a chance to ask for what we wanted to rectify the faulty lamp they were very clear that they can not help us! Let me just make this clear, this was not accidental damage how can one dusting a light bulb make the bottom of the light magically crack and fall apart! Exactly! A bit of a joke really that you have tried to cover up your mistakes by making us look like the dishonest ones! Yes we did end the call you didn’t so not sure where that has come from because the Customer Services Manager was not giving us any options so again a joke that you have put the blame on us saying that you would’ve given us options but you didn’t at the time! And..... yes my partner not husband did say that we hope you do not survive through Covid as a business because businesses like yours that rip customers off and do not give them any options for faulty goods not to mention again that you’ve put the blame on us saying we damaged it dusting it which again was not the case! Maybe you shouldn’t have been so quick and to make assumptions that we’ve damaged it and offered us a replacement and keeping a good reputation as a business (although you have a fair few bad reviews) and may I suggest that the Customer Services Manager is sent on some training.
Another update...... here’s the text in an email that was sent to customer services over the weekend!! Won’t let me add a picture of the email! Just proves that we are not the dishonest ones here and disgusting to think that a company is replying to my review in this manner by making us look like the villains!

I purchased x3 clear Perspex lamps from you back in August which were quite expensive invoice attached. I’ve cleaned my house today and as I was dusting the top of the lamp I heard something fall and a bit of plastic has come off the bottom of the lamp so it no longer stands up correctly. Update 3rd Dec company has mentioned I have updated my review and have not taken up their offer? I have not been offered anything so not sure where this has come from??? Perhaps if they called me or emailed me to rectify my faulty goods? Maybe I will just go straight to trading standards to get this sorted out.
8th Dec - update have only just seen the email from Lighting Styles sent on 4th Dec after I prompt them! A full refund finally!! Lighting styles mention below I have changed my review I have not changed I have kept you all up to date with the progress!

I am sorry Nicola for your disappointment and clear frustration .

My colleague spoke to you at length and explained that accidental damage was not covered by us (you said you had broken the table lamp when dusting). Had you started the conversation by being honest and asking what we could do to help you, we would have offered to replace the base at cost price but your argumentative manner unfortunately made negotiations with you extremely difficult. Further your husband came on the line and was also confrontational.

My colleague wanted to draw the conversation to an end because your husband/partner was being antagonistic, then to make matters worse before you hung up the call you said [sic] "I will leave bad reviews everywhere. I hope you [personally] do not survive Covid".

Perhaps when you have had chance to reflect and feel calmer we can help you.

Easy ordering, swift delivery for me

Ordered a 140mm Diameter 6w CCT LED which arrived quickly. The option to change the colour temp of the light was the main reason for buying this light and it worked really well. Changes can be either fixed at installation or changed via the switch. I couldn't find this type of light elsewhere.
Purchase via their website was painless, p&p charges reasonable. I would use them again no probs.

Update: Refunded money very prompt. Thus 2 stars. Apology accepted. Six weeks still too long. 1-2 weeks on website misleading.

I ordered a lighting fixture which was listed as in stock with a 7-14 day lead time. When this did not arrive I contacted customer services who informed me it would be two further weeks. Again when the item failed to arrive I again contacted support to be informed that there would be a further two weeks due to a supply issue in Poland. Very frustrating to see still listed as in stock on website. I have cancelled this order and awaiting refund. Honesty and communication would go a long way.

I'm extremely sorry for your frustration and disappointment. We state "in stock 10-14 days from European warehouse". This means it takes 10-14 days (from European warehouse) to customer. If we have the item in stock it is 2-3 working days. You should have been advised sooner that the item was not available and that there was a further delay with the manufacturer, this was an error and I apologise you had to chase the sales team.

A refund was applied the day you called which will take 2-3 working days to reach your account, notification will have been sent via email.

The availability period is confusing to customers and if the sale is not placed by the telephone this can be missed when placing an order on-line.

I hope you are able to find a suitable alternative elsewhere however should you wish to return to us please call the sales team and mention your review - they will provide you with a 10% discount by way of apology.

Unable to get the size of light…

Unable to get the size of light required for 140mm cut out, Lights arrived the day after l ordered them. Excellent Service, Also given good technical advice on the phone which enabled me to choose the correct product.

10 out of 10 - Was going to order from a competitor, until this company showed up offering the same product. The reason I went with Lighting Styles was because they actually had stock! ... and also delivered the next day!!!!

Literally woke up and postman had delivered!

Great customer care as well! Online chat available which made everything so much quicker!

SHOP ELSEWHERE!!!

They charged me almost $200 for what I ordered, and needed ASAP, then emailed the next day saying they didn’t have it in stock. Then emailed me two days later saying it would take 3-5 business days to get my money back that they never should’ve taken in the first place!!!! Do NOT order from these people because you’ll never know if it’s actually in stock or not, even though it’s listed on the website, and they go ahead and charge you for it.

Good customer service

Good customer service, prompt acknowledgement of order and despatched using a courier that give you a time slot. Slight issue with the light received but very quickly resolved with no hassle or quibles.

Rapid service and good prices

Found this company via google - was easy to use their website and product arrived quickly via courier that allowed me to track parcel and suggest a safe drop off if I was not in. No waiting around was necessary
Small issue with the product, NOT the supplier’s fault, was very quickly resolved by them in a very courteous manner
Based on my experience, I’d have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone
