In less than 2 years the battery has gone on kitchen alarm, with a 10 year warranty I contacted the company but from what I can tell they are no longer running. Disappointed

COWBOY COMPANY! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!

I purchased a Carbon Monoxide Alarm as part of a Basic Package for Homes, which included 2x Smoke Alarms + 1x Heat Alarm, from Linked Up Alarms in April 2022. All the other units still appear to be functioning correctly, however the CO Alarm stopped working after less than 3 years. The company website states, "Yes, our alarms all come with a 5 years guarantee. The batteries are also included and will last at least 10 years." Based on this, I emailed the company to request a replacement battery or complete unit. I received a prompt response after 3 days requesting a video of the alarm. I was unable to send the video file via email and they couldn't/wouldn't provide a mobile number so I could WhatsApp it, so I sent them a photo of the label on the reverse of the unit, plus a description of the fault symptoms. A couple of days later, I received a reply, confirming that they were arranging to send me a new CO alarm unit. I thanked them for their excellent customer service and waited for the replacement unit. And waited. And waited. And waited..... Then total radio silence! After sending them 6 chaser emails over the next two months without reply, I finally gave up. I also tried to phone them, but the number listed is not valid. The alternative number I found on the web just connected to a recorded message telling me to email them (!) and the voicemail box was full. On checking Trustpilot, I saw several 1 Star reviews complaining about the same problem with faulty units after just a few years, and the same lack of response from them in dealing with complaints. Linked Up Alarms clearly do not honour their warranty. They are obviously COWBOYS! AVOID!

Company no longer Exists?

I purchased a linked up alarm set including a carbon monoxide detector. 10 year battery warranty, and after 3 years the battery has failed in one of the smoke detectors. Reached out to the company and got a generic email response about how to link the system. Their phone number no longer works and their website has gone. Totally disappoined with the lack of after care.

Very disappointed at complete lack of…

Very disappointed at complete lack of response to either of the two emails sent recently regarding an alarm which has developed a fault. Phone number on auto reply email is incorrect. Other number found on Google advises to email and expect response within 24-48 hours - been waiting almost two weeks! Voicemail full so can't leave a message! Even more disappointing as my review on previous experience was five stars, but not now, despite pointing out that my system is no longer compliant with the relevant regulations.

Great Service.

I managed to break a smoke detector. Was two years since I'd bought them. I was looking to buy a new one but Jonathan sent me one free of charge. Couldn't have been more helpful. Top class service from a great company.

False Alarms triggered by neighbours.

Have LinkupAlarms. Rubbish alarms thanks to Scottish Government rules and this company give us the same batch of alarm units as 4 of our neighbours. One goes off everyone goes off! I do nightshift!!!! My dogs need sedated with all the false alarms that I can't reset because it is somebody elses house. F***kin had it after 2 years!!! Suspect some MSPs brother owns this little scam?

Reply from Linkedupalarms

Sorry you are experiencing this issue, it can happen when neighbours in a close proximity have our alarms and also use the optional remote control. There is a way to prevent this from happening. If you reset your alarms and then re link them using the "HEAT" alarm as the "HUB" and not using the "REMOTE" as the hub this will prevent your neighbours alarms setting yours off. To reset and re link please follow the instructions on our website here: https://www.linkedupalarms.com/alarm-linking-video

You get what you pay for

Too good to be true? Yes. After less than 2 years these alarms sound randomly without reason. Thought I would reach out to the company on behalf of my elderly father but they wanted a video of the issue before they would take any action. My father who is 88 doesn’t have the latest phone with the ability to take videos and living not within easy reach, isn’t something I could do on his behalf! These are going in the bin where they belong. I’ve since been informed by a qualified electrician that this is not a good product. You get what you pay for.

Wow, these folks are sellng really good kit

Wow, these folks are refreshingly good. I was replacing a linked set that I got from A N Other before the current regulation came in. They were old tech, difficult to set up, short life & generally crap.

However the new ones from Linked Up were really easy to set up and install. It was good to find a top spec, well designed range,at a fair price & delivered by Graeme who knew the product well, believed in it & sold it in a nice helpful way,.

Was very simple and only took a few minutes. Alarms work really well and saved hundreds of pounds running unsightly cables. Highly recommended.

FIRST CLASS SERVICE AND PRODUCT

I bought the alarms and from the get go I found the product and staff spot on. So much so I recommended Linked Up Alarms to friends and family. They too have been impressed by the help they were given when needed. Anyone looking to purchase the alarms will not be disappointed with this company.
