Can't contact them or call them or even sign in

"A recently created account with this email address was canceled by our automated systems. This was due to activity or patterns associated with fraudulent behavior. Additional attempts to sign up may also be rejected."

This is what they told me after I tried to make an account. I tried to fill in everything correctly and did everything as they said, only to be terminated right after.

When mailing them I got no response and calling them didnt work because they hang up immediately. Can't seem to contact them anywhere :/ :/ :/

Not respecting DMCA laws

They are doing their best to keep an illegal dmca infringing site online, they'll just bounce back with as many questions as they can to stall the time and earn money from the client who pays for the hosting.

Linode is pretty very much reliable.

Well linode is ok!!
but they need to be a little faster with the support
so i -1 star due to the fact that support could be slow.
but it's 100% human support so that is expected.

You need to have some basic knowledge on linux os.
It's not for newbies . Since its not fully managed like other hosting providers.

I think most of the negative reviews are bit misleading since it hold no real bases .

Linode is pretty very much reliable.
It's very easy to use.

For newbies please use the marketplace .
it makes life much easier for you.

For experts
Installing your own distro .
is better for me.

Anyways 4 out of 5.

They likely steal credit card data

They did not let me sign up without my credit card info and once they received all the data, my application was rejected stating that my activity may be fraud related. What a crazy thing. Now they got my credit card data…

They are pretty much a scam when it comes to the price. Linode has made things simpler, but their price is expensive, pretending to be cheap, they charge you as a customer to pay tax. Check the invoice, when you buy their services and they don't even mention the tax until you get the invoice. I would say, stay away from them.

Not Great, but I’ve had worse.

Linode is not great, they couldn’t handle our kub-cluster capacity so we had to move to AWS a much larger provider.

Support was very slow, took days to fix easy issues. Overall in the end they couldn’t handle our large infrastructure and we had to move elsewhere.

Infra is okay but management is very bad, I don’t recommend hosting large infrastructure here.

It the price seems ok until they send you the invoice, the invoice will be a suprice for all. They will add extra price for this and that and also tax, they force the customers to pay for it. Not good...

Brilliant Service!

I have been hosting multiple VPSs for different projects, as well as running a web-hosting business for 4 years until the pandemic hit.

I was being charged either separately for services, or from multiple service providers.

As I web host/design I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos, and it was there I found Linode. At first I was going to have all my projects on multiple small Linodes, then came to the realisation - these are all low traffic - and if one project needed to break away to a new Linode - then that would be the case.

The provisioning of Linodes is intuitive, the billing is simple, and you have FULL access to the Linode - so you have complete control over the 'server'.

I was having issues sending email - and after a day of searching the web - I realised that Linode restricts those - for good reason. A ticket later, and everything is up and running.

Linode is not for the faint-hearted - you are left on your own - but this is for developers by developers, if you don't know how to setup a Linux Server - then this service is not for you, as the Linodes (servers) are unmanaged - that is, you break it - you fix it.

Despicable

Despicable.

The company suspended our account because we did not update our contact name on the file. We were offline for ONE HOUR and our business was out for one hour on a busy Monday morning. They said they sent us support tickets and we didn't respond, so they suspended our account to get our attention! WTH. Our business was out for 1 HOUR.

First of all, we don't just sit around and respond to tickets, we have got a business to run.
Secondly, it was for a contact name that didn't get updated. Do you really need to suspend our account for that? We have been with you for five years! This company has changed after the acquisition.
Thirdly, there are so many other ways you can reach out to us, like direct email (Vs. a support ticket - we thought it was a response to close a ticket) or sms to get our attention

Overall, this experience has made us realize that we ought to switch to a provider that cares more about their customers and user experience. What gave them the right or authority to shut down our business just because of a contact name?

We don't believe this is the vendor we want to stick around. We will take action to switch to another more credible vendors

Expensive and performance could be better

They are pretty expensive, and VPS performance has lots of room for improvement, but overall it's an efficient solution for servers. Staff are friendly. Will probably use again in the future.

Support Ticket 17760378 Linode is worthless SCAM VPS services Beware

Look what this MFKs email me when you cannot acces to your account I truly do understand your desire to close this account. As much as I'd love to perform this on your behalf, we don't have the access to do this. That being said, we will love to help you gain access to your account once again in order to close the account.

As it stands, your account will continue to be billed if it has active services on it. In order to stop these charges, the services must be removed from the account or the account must be closed.

In order to remove two factor authentication, we ask that you review the previous message with regards to sending in your documents. Once these have been sent in, we will review them and remove two factor authentication from your account if applicable.

It was free. I tried to use it for my python bot. But nothing worked. And I forgot about Linode until 01.07.2022, when they try to get payment for something that I didn't use even one day.

Received tons of spam scam emails about…

Received tons of spam scam emails about casinos, prizes, etc. dozens, dozens- hundreds by now FOR MANY MONTHS-- ALL USING LINODE IP AS SENDER - it's obviously one fraudster as all emails use the same format and style. Filed complaint online using Linode form at www dot linode dot com slash legal dash abuse several times, forwarded scam email and header to abuse at Linode dot com and support at Linode dot com using different email addresses. But the problem persists. It's not about using an email address and getting late service-- this is going on for months with Linode not taking any proactive measures to stop it, as if this is all new to the company. Against California CCPA and FTC CAN-SPAM ACT.

On June 29, 2022, I received the following scam spam from Linode IP -- this fraudster emails look similar as it is very comfortable using Linode IP addresses ONLY, again, for months. This is not new. I am sure it will not be the only scam I will get today from Linode--no way to unsubscribe

Will not cancel your subscription. Lost my login details and they absolutely refuse to cancel my subscription via my linked email adress. Forced to report as fraudulent transaction as the only way out of this. Horrible service, do NOT recommend.

I signed up for Linode and had false positive account block

I signed up for Linode and had a false positive fraudulent activity notification after signup. I sent and an email and received no response after 2 days. As infuriating as that was I loaded 10 dollars call time and called them, spoke to a lady named Abrose or Amber, cant remember for sure. I recieved curteous and professional service. Just for this, I will choose Linode.

Sign up problem.

Everytime i make an account it gets cancelled for "fraudulent behavior" i've tried to contact them about this issue but they wont help. I do not recommend Linode get DigitalOcean instead its much better than this.
