London Door Company Reviews 

The London Door company make without doubt the finest doors, you can read that from virtually every review on here, however I had issues with mine.
The handmade leaded glass failed.
It became apparent that a few pieces of the glass had cracked, (possibly in transit, possibly in the making) very feint to see, but the internal misting between the glazed glass panels was evident.
Some paintwork was also required.

I have read on previous reviews a couple of disappointments with after sales, this was looking like being far from a satisfactory outcome.

However, my experience was a complete contrast to that, without a doubt the after sales I received was the best I have ever received from any company.

The glass was remade in it entirety (6 pieces, which took about 14 days) so as the match was guaranteed, (remember this is handmade) a carpenter who had worked within the company for almost 40 years (Peter) arrived at my house removed/replaced the glass and replaced all the wood beads to hold in situ., did an amazing job in zero damage to the door itself.
The very next day the painter arrived at 8am and was there until 4pm completely painting and re-finishing the work.
Being I restore/collect high end classic cars, I was expecting to be underwhelmed it’s that eye for detail, however I could not have been more incorrect again, the work was exemplary, well done Raff.

To conclude, issues arise from time to time, is about how they are rectified, I dealt with ‘Darren Fowler, (head of operations), he made a visit to the house, assured me of complete satisfaction guaranteed and regularly updated me with progress on the making of the glass, and a time schedule, he personally oversaw the rectification through to completion, making a visit with in days to inspect the work carried out in person, a real credit to the company in his personable skills and knowledge of the product.

Comprehensive, professional and care, are the words I should have headed this review with, but that would have been much the same as the other reviews before this one..

I cannot recommend this company enough, the price of the product is by a country mile worth every penny..

We are delighted with our new door and so are our friends and neighbours. In fact we may well be setting a new trend. Special thanks to Tom for his expertise, patience and very pleasant manner. He met with us and helped us chose our door and inset glass design. He replied promptly to emails and tweaked the plans bit by bit to be exactly what we wanted. Our door wasn't cheap but we are very satisfied. It's a real quality product.

From start to finish, our experience with London Door Company was outstanding. The initial in-home consultation was handled with professionalism — no hard sell, just a clear presentation of the many options and approaches available to us. It made the decision-making process much easier and more enjoyable.

The site survey was carried out quickly and efficiently, and our door with surrounding windows arrived well within the promised timeframe. Installation day was a standout. The fitters were absolutely first class: friendly, attentive, and clearly very skilled at what they do. We had some concerns about how the installation might affect our pebbledash exterior wall, but they managed the removal and fitting with impressive care, leaving minimal impact to the surround.

To complete the job, a painter was sent out to apply the final finishing touches to the door and frame — a small detail that really rounded things off and reinforced the company’s commitment to quality. We’re delighted with the result and would certainly recommend London Door Company to anyone considering a similar upgrade.

The London Door Company installed a front door and side window for us in April 2025. Their service was fantastic: personable, intelligent and professional from the initial contact through the surveyor and the two great Italian lads that installed it. More specifically they accommodated my bespoke stained window design and worked with my builders to agree a later installation date for the window that worked for all. Fantastic service and would recommend.

Very happy with our new door. Enzo was very helpful when it came to the design and the process. The communication was great and our expectations were managed in terms of lead time and installation date. Installation went smoothly and surrounding area was tidied up. Would definitely recommend.

I cannot recommend London Door Company highly enough. The consultation process was the thorough and we were allowed to be so involved in the design of our dream door. Measuring and installation went off without a hitch and the final product we have is the most beautiful door. Everything we could have hoped for.

Had put off having a new door for years, and knowing it wouldn't last another winter, had to bite the bullet and started window shopping. Settled on LDC as they had a like-for-like, so started the inquiry. From the initial interest chat with William from sales, he was never pushy or hard sell. Very personable and knowledgeable, giving plenty of time to think. When ready, he came back again for a final design and sign-off meeting. The green light was given, and a proposed timing plan was discussed. The installation guys were very punctual, polite, neat, and tidy in their work. Once the work had been completed, a second appt was confirmed to tidy up a few loose ends and touch up any small holes and paintwork, and it looked amazing! We are now the talk of the street with our lovely new door getting many compliments on it. So thank you, LDC, great job. Would highly recommend them!

I am disappointed that such an expensive door has such a cheap letterbox, one can see straight through into my house.
I'm not sure I would recommend them.

I am delighted with my new front door which was fitted this week. Everyone involved in the process from the designer, to the surveyor to the fitters were polite, professional and helpful. Even though I wasn't able to have a new frame due to the proximity of the electrical wiring the new door fits the existing frame perfectly and looks fantastic. The door is not cheap but it is of a very high quality and I believe that you get what you pay for. It fits better than the old one ever did and the draught that I used to feel in the hallway has completely gone. I'm sure I'll appreciate it even more in the winter.

The whole process from start to finish was exemplary. The ordering process was professionally carried out and the stages of the process communicated very clearly. The surveyors obviously knew what they were doing because there were no issues at all when the door and frame were fitted. The fitters were very polite, worked efficiently, and were always happy to answer any questions. I have nothing but praise for all of the staff that were involved in the process. Everything this company did was clear, precise and honest. And pretty fast considering. They are completely honest about what they can do and what they can’t do and whether that could cause problems (ie not being able to replace the frame for the door because of electrics but making sure the new door fit in the existing frame and also giving me practical advice for how to prepare the frame for when the door arrived). It’s not cheap but the door is SUCH high quality and genuinely gives me joy when I walk towards my flat now! It’s made the flat quieter and warmer too, and being able to have a gorgeous orange on the inside as well as the outside is great. The door is smooth and sturdy and opens and shuts like a dream and makes the flat feel incredibly secure. Everyone I have dealt with has been professional and helpful - from design where Enzo sat with me for ages going through everything, to survey where they told me how to deal with the frame myself, to installation which was quick, relatively mess free and so helpful - and also did a little filling where I’d missed a bit of the frame! I honestly can’t recommend them enough. The only downside is that now I have to redecorate the hall because it looks so shabby next to the beautiful door!

Harry White and the London Door Company team were faultless from start to finish - the service was impeccable and the attention to detail of every aspect of the experience was first class. The quality of the products and finish are fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone. A big thank you to all the team once again!

The entire process from the selection of the door to the fitting was professionally done. The fitter was exceptional - I could not fault his work in any way. The door looks wonderful - we are very pleased we chose the London Door Company a second time!

The entire process was incredible - from the initial design, planning, survey, through to installation. The staff were friendly helpful, kind, and our new front door looks phenomenal - we have already had soo many compliments!

2nd time I’ve used London Door. Great product and amazing service. The whole process was faultless and it’s clear you get what you pay for. Very happy indeed.

I can't rate the London Door Company highly enough. James White helped us mimic the origional stained glass window design of our house in our new front door (even sourcing specific colours to match the origional). The final door is stunning, strong and secure. The fitters were punctual, professional and polite. This isn't our first door from them. We got a door from them in our last home and it still looked great several years later, when we came to sell.

I can only recommend the London door company (LDC), I feel they have been with us every step of the way.
We are fortunate enough to live in a period Edwardian house but at some point the front door had been modernised in an oh so 70’s fashion, large safety glass panel and hardboard lined.
Added to that, living in a conservation area meant our options were limited.
After speaking with our local council planning department, we were told that the door should be repaired to its original design and this is where the LDC really came into their own.
They were originally recommended to us by our brother in law who was looking to them for his own property, and after a first consultation with Tom, we were told that it would actually be cheaper and easier to remake the door than repair it and that we could then design a bespoke door in the correct style and to make the cost easier we were offered a great discount for a joint order with our brother in law.
We made our proposal to the council who initially were sceptical and requested more information which LDC supplied willing and offered advice and support at every step of the process, then finally after around 9 months the council agreed to our request but in the meanwhile our brother in law had decided to go with another door company but much to our joy the LDC still honoured the original quote!
We then had a final consultation with Tom and did the exciting job of choosing door furniture and glass colours. To say the choice was confusing was an understatement, especially as neither my partner or I can make a decision! 🤣
When installation day came, the team were polite, clean, and very understanding of my demands to protect the original wallpaper on the ceiling and fitting of our period brass door bell. The team took just one day and left us with some additional paint for touching up but no other signs they had been.
I can honestly say, there are much cheaper options out there but the positive comments from the neighbours and the level of service and detail in every step of the process is absolutely worth the cost.

The bottom lock for my front door provided by the London Door Company in 2023 has broken and the warranty has expired. Surely a door of this quality and price should not be supplied with cheap locks that fail. Disappointed.

From the design visit, where you can see what the options will look like on your house, to the installers' attention to detail and professionalism, to the quality of materials, it was everything you'd hoped it would be for the price.
