A wonderful production of Othello. A superb cast with the lead roles played by actors at the top of their profession.

Amazing actors. All of them. Especially Toby Jones. Also the most "clearly spoken" Shakespeare play I've seen so far. Lovely theatre, too. Highly recommend it.

Accomplished actors star in a play of quality BUT David Harewood, despite great talent, at 59/60 is not right for a man just taking his first wife in an era when any man of substance would be expected to have a wife. Caitlin Fitzgerald seems about 15-25 years too old for the role of Desdemona when women would usually marry, if from the patriciate, with a dowry of no small importance, between mid teens and mid twenties. Toby Jones at 59 knows how to play Iago, but he just isn't an ambitious young man willing to do anything to ensure promotion. The modern costumes detract rather than add. The use of knives rather than swords detracts. The use of a gun for Othello's suicide is a terminal irritation. However the play itself is interesting, and one might wonder, putting aside both the editing and the modern elements emphasized in so many productions whether this, as written during the reign of Elizabeth I, was an attempt at the exculpation of her mother, Ann Boleyn, while also avoiding placing too much blame on Henry VIII.

The performance of all the key characters in this Shakespearean play were excellent. David Hardwood as Othello gave a composed performance to begin with but at the climax he displayed a troubled soul. Toby Jones as Iago portrayed his conniving and villainous character to a very high level. Caitlin Fitzgerald as Desdemona acted excellently as the very happily married wife to begin with and then towards the end of the play showed the hurt wife very well. The tragedy was enacted well with 2 of the principal characters dying. All the supporting actors too were excellent.

The play was excellent. Booked last minute and enjoyed the evening. Studied Othello for A level long years ago but found myself finishing some sentences !!

Truly the best Shakespeare production I've seen. The cast held the audience in their hands and it was wonderful to see so many young people there. They all stood to applaud and I'm sure it will be an experience they won't forget and not will I! Exceptional acting and settings.

One of the best stage productions of Shakespeare I’ve seen. Great lead performances from Toby Jones and David Harewood. I was totally engrossed by the evolution of Othello’s character and his undoing as he falls from grace.

Utterly brilliant I had to stop myself from shouting "don't believe him" and "sod the handkerchief" I was in tears at the end !

Underwhelming. Acting variable, Iago and Othello good but Casio and Desdemona wrongly cast and weak. Support cast was mediocre. Direction a mish-mash and trying to be too clever. Costumes same.
