Faulty Products & Poor Customer Service

I have 5 blinds with Louvolite motors. Only 1 of the 4 remote controls I have operates the blinds, the others don't work. I can't just get new remotes as the motors I have are now obsolete as they have been upgraded. I therefore now need to pay for new motors and remotes. The blinds are only about 2 years old.

My problems don't stop there. Louvolite won't supply me direct and have given me details of several "local" suppliers, but none seem interested in what is probably a small job with a minimal profit margin.

There is a fault with their product but they don't appear to care. Very poor Customer Service.

I would advise anybody considering motorised blinds to avoid Louvolite and choose another manufacturer.

Exemplary customer service

I needed replacement brackets for some beautiful Louvolite voile roller blinds which were being put up again after being relocated. I contacted customer service (who were refreshingly easily contactable in this day and age) hoping to be able to buy these however they not only sent out replacements free of charge but these arrived the very next day - exemplary customer service! Very appreciative.

Do not buy any of this companies products

3 years ago we had our bungalow fitted out with Louvolite perfect fit day and night (vision) blinds
5 manual and 7 motorised as my wife is disabled the total cost was £3500.00
We have had 4 faulty motors replaced and another has failed.
We are unable to get it replaced as the range of perfect fit has been replaced and is now “obsolete!” We cannot even have them changed to manual as everything is now unavailable! I was under the impression that parts for products had to be available for a period of some years after manufacturing ends on a particular model style?
I have written to Louvolite but it falls on deaf ears
Disgusting is all I can say
I am going to contact Trading Standards about Louvolite’s actions that I believe are illegal

BRILLIANT Customer Support

The blind in our spare bedroom stopped operating. It's about 10 years old but hardly gets used. The only indication as to manufacture was the name Louvolite on the end plug of the bottom rail. I took several photos of the what appeared to be the faulty mechanism and emailed customer service at Louvolite to ask for advice. They replied by return to say that, bizarre as it may seem, only the bottom rail was theirs and the rest of the mechanism was not. I replied to thank them and ask if they might have any idea of the actual manufacture. Their speedy reply advised that they had looked more closely at my photos and believed that the clutch drive may have become disengaged and I should try sliding it back into place. A minute later and my blind was fully functioning again. What amazing customer support for a blind that wasn't even theirs - BRILLIANT

I have praise for this company, their technical help and their products.

I don't know who it is that is giving these poor reviews on Louvolite, but my experience is completely the opposite.
We have two Louvolite electric blinds which I recently wanted to automate, so I purchased a Louvolite Hub.
Being a comparative beginner in such matters it was an odds-on certainly that I would have problems connecting it up so it would operate flawlessly.
I have to say that the technical assistance I received from Louvolite was the very best I have ever encountered in my 80 years, and I can only say how grateful I am to them for helping me to get everything operating as I wanted it to do.
As for the Louvolite products we use, in my experience they are excellent.

In a word, AVOID

Bought 4 motorised blinds around 4 years ago. Since then, we have had two replacement batteries and now two have completely stopped working. I bought a replacement battery for one online but didn't hold its charger. There doesn't seem anyone who can repair them, Louvolite do not offer /could not suggest how to repair them, so left with only choice but to replace. Suffice to say, we will NOT be replacing them with this brand.

Terrible company to deal with

Terrible company to deal with. I have Louvolite blinds fitted in practically every room in my house. I paid to have them mains powered to make them full proof. However, after only a few weeks, one blind stopped working, then another, then another.
So far, five blinds have stopped working and this is due to faulty motors. Of course, I have had to pay for the blinds to reinstalled with new motors. Louvolite customer service (if you can get hold of anyone) are useless. They seem to have never come these issues before. They send you steps to reset the blinds and when that doesn't work, they run out of ideas. They supply so many faulty products and take no responsibility for this. NEVER BUY LOUVOLITE BLINDS

Only lasted 3 years

Bought our eletric blind from Hillarys in 2021 for £200 and by 2024 we are having to bin it (the guarantee only lasts 1 year).

The blind suddenly decided to not go down, so we couldn't sleep in our bedroom as we were woken up at 5.30 by the sunlight coming in.

Spoke to Hillarys via a WhatsAppp video call.. they initially suggested buying a new remote (£25 from amazon).

Then when that didn't work, I was advised to book a technician visit (£48).

When he arrived i described the issue and before he'd even looked at it he told me, 'It's knackered!'

So I just wasted £48 to be told I have to buy a new motor for £95!

I'm now going to bin the whole thing and just buy a regular blackout blind from John Lewis for about £25 (which I really wish I had done in the first place!)

Absolutely annoying

We have an ordinary non-motorised roller blind. The material is too heavy to keep the blind part way - it's all or nothing. And the safety break in the cord pulls apart when you try to pull the blind up. Infuriating rubbish!

Blinds stopped working after 18 months. Explanation from Louvolite "The battery in the motor has depleted and will no longer hold the charge, the motor will have to be replaced"
Yes, I did keep the battery charge topped up as per instructions.
Hundreds of pounds wasted - wish I was aware of the reviews on this platform before I wasted my money but I trusted my supplier and never thought to check. My advice would be to stay well clear of this company and it seems my thoughts are echoed by others.

Total waste of money do not buy

Total waste of money do not buy, although my local supplier is trying their best Louvolite themselves are a total disaster, and my blinds have never functioned correctly from the start, i am now in direct contact with Louvolite and they just "switch off" not interested there are issues they do not deny that, but will they fix the issues NO. for clarity my issues with this product are purely related to the system they use to control the blinds remotely, which is a key reason i purchased from them...... and where the real cost is involved. Louvolite use a company based in Canada for this remote control system called Neo Smart Blinds, and the one thing that i have learnt is that they are far from SMART..... again avoid Louvolite they are a disaster to deal with after they get your money.....

poor quality

had these blinds for several years, worse example of british engineering. they hold little charge, several motors packed up, costly to replace. they lose memory settings once charge is low.

Bought 4 blinds. Do NOT buy. Avoid.

Bought 4 blinds. Only one works. Huge expensive mistake. One doesn't charge and is just dead now (never charged it). One you can't program so is just pointless. One works intermittently but it's not smooth and pretty sure it will stop soon alao. Spent £100's and many many hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent product with superb customer…

Excellent product with superb customer service!

I have had a set of 4 motorised, battery powered, app controlled Louvolite blinds for almost 2 years now.

The blinds work very well, the batteries seem to last well beyond the 6 months guidance and they look really cool when they all go up or down together. It's also nice to be able to set them to open and close when we are away.

I don't normally bother writing reviews, but I was moved to write this because of their excellent customer service. Once several months ago and then again today I had a small tech question. Both things were small issues and both times their tech supported responded to my email immediately with exactly the right answer. Very impressive!

Expensive when the batteries die, may as well buy new blinds.

Just after the warranty runs out, the batteries die. The only option is to replace the entire motor, batteries and circuitry at a very high cost even though the battery pack is easily acessible, but unfortunatley is not commonly available to purchase in the format needed. Louvolite should sell the battery packs separately…completely irresponsible and un environmentally friendly.
