Par-Boiled or frozen, you decide Loxone!

We had our underfloor heating system installed with loxone capacity 5 years ago and we are still trying to resolve the ongoing, do whatever you want actuators temperature wise, result. The actuators are a nightmare, several have failed and had to be replaced and the rest just do whatever they want randomly as opposed to what is being asked of them. They have caused e hours of frustration and upset, we are either par-boiled or frozen. I was not surprised when our fabulous contact for the system informed us that he has recently been swapping out Loxone actuators for more basic ones as they run the system efficiently and as requested, nor that Loxone have recently changed/upgraded their actuators. A whole heap of money at approx £80 per actuator for a system that cannot be controlled. Would never recommend.

As an AV and automation integrator company with over 20 years in the business, we have our choice of companies to use for our automation projects. Loxone has always been great, the products just plain work and the support is fantastic when we need it.

All of the team at Loxone were great

All of the team at Loxone were great, from the initial arrival, to all the training staff. Really engaging and helpful with any queries we have/had. Would 100% recommend anyone looking into home automation to get involved with the Loxone team.

Real and Quick partner support.

As a partner, some companies are slow to offer support. With Loxone, not only is it easy to get in touch with a real life person when support is needed, but they are always eager to jump in and help get things done.

The system has some great features but…

The system has some great features but there are limited number on qualified installers and the company is not very helpful in resolving issues. System does have some integration issues with HAVC equipment and it's difficult to figure out how to fix or program scenes (tried to eliminate lights coming on during night due to presence detection--no go) probably better to investigate systems with better support. It like choosing the Beta max of home automation (I'm dating myself--but VHS became standard with Beta Max ending up a pile of rubbish)

Installer availability and support quality can vary by region, and when that gap shows up, it’s frustrating. That’s something we actively work to improve through expanded training, direct partner support, and taking a concerted step towards filling regional gaps in installer availability.
Regarding HVAC integrations and scene logic (like presence-based lighting at night), those use cases are absolutely achievable with Loxone, but they depend heavily on correct planning and configuration. In many cases, challenges like nighttime presence behavior or HVAC control stem from default settings or incomplete commissioning rather than system limitations. Our support and partner teams regularly help resolve exactly these scenarios.

Excellent location

Excellent location.
Brilliant Team who find time to assist.
The training course is at a fast pace but the trainers are helpful in returning to previous topics.
The class was held together well without disruption and equaled a working day with someone available from 8am right through to 5,30pm . No one expects you to be an expert, that is why there is second to none support. Looking forward to my first installation which is on-going. Thank you Team.

Loxone is a terrible and overpriced system that doesn't work properly

I’ve had a very negative experience with the Loxone Gold Partner in Iceland, local.is, which sells the Loxone heating control system. I bought the system from them at a very high price, but quickly discovered that I couldn’t turn it on unless I was physically at home. They initially said they would come and fix the issue, but then wanted to charge an additional 200,000 ISK. For comparison, a brand-new system from heitirpottar.is costs 170,000 ISK.

What made things worse was that the system still didn’t work afterwards — it was still impossible to turn it on unless you were near it. When I complained that the issue remained unresolved, they shut the entire system off. This is especially serious, as tampering with my setup at home without consent could be considered a violation of privacy laws.

After this extortion, they have refused to respond or provide any maintenance for the system. I strongly recommend that people not do business with this company. Instead, buy a different system than Loxone. If you are looking to set up a smart home, there are many better and more affordable systems to use than Loxone.

Loxone is a great system however you…

Loxone is a great system however you are at the mercy of your electrician to make small changes and the ongoing charges are just outrageous. Loxone should give the owner the power to make these changes rather than to the electrician.

Loxone Equipment, Training & Support

The Loxone kit is so powerful its hard to find anything that it cannot do. This is the second training that I have been on and its a different level. The whole experience is second to none. The team are unbelievable, so knowledgeable, helpful and supportive and nothing is ever too much trouble. It's massively reassuring to know that if you get stuck or don't quite understand something they are always there to get you up and running quickly. I have installed a lot of equipment from a lot of different suppliers over the years, but never had support & backup like this. Well done and thanks again for everything you do to support us.

Good product poor support service

Good product poor (non existent) technical support.
I understand they want to pass their support to third party contractors.
But when you upgrade to a new version (16) and customers are reporting:
1) Loxone Config terminated due to an error!
2) Reboot due to watchdog (00000004)
You need to have minimum decency to support your low quality assurance. Sometimes you may learn from this and make better products.
Post response:
It was no SD card issue, or skills issue. It was a upgrade issue on Automatic Designer who fails (I reproduced and shared the scenario), then more fatal errors with Loxone config.
Restoring an older backup (before version 16, fixed the problem) as well identifying the invalid rule that worked on v15 but doesn’t work on v16.
As I’m saying they only send you to third parties instead reading your case. You can replace them with Chat GPT and get better support service. At least Chat GPt reads your message.

At Loxone, we’re already in contact with your Partner company so they can assist you as soon as possible. However, it’s essential that you allow them to advise and guide you through this process, as they are responsible for direct customer support.
2. Specific Technical Recommendation
Our support team has identified that the issue can be resolved by formatting the Miniserver’s SD card and reloading the configuration. We strongly recommend that your Partner carries out this procedure to ensure it’s done safely.
3. Required Knowledge
Working with Loxone Config requires certain technical skills, which are acquired through our official training programs. Therefore, at Loxone, we advise that end users without this training rely on the expertise of their Partner.

Great hospitality and knowledge

All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on the products and the different ways in which they could be. No question was too small and they were happy to help the entire time I was there and continue to be helpful in my projects going forward.

Disappointing whole house fit out with Loxone

After having the whole house fitted with Loxone, the long term experience is rather underwhelming. We have had numerous fails of plug switches and sensors, and whilst I understand the "cutting edge" of these technologies it seems like it's bolted together at times with string and sellotape. Add to that the very poor warranty on items (we just had a presence sensor fail at £120. it should have more than a 24 month warranty.

A great training experience

The training is very well thought out, the company set out it values and what they think they can achieve.
Through the week we worked on the system and by the end its very obvious that they have a great product.
The staff are all very nice and (hopefully) it will be a please to work with them in the future
