Lost Watch…

This week I travelled through security but unfortunately left my watch in the tray.
Held little hope of recovering it but filled the online form in to explain what had happened. To my surprise I received a message saying they had found my watch and how to collect it. Adam at luggage point in Birmingham airport was extremely helpful and I was so happy to be able to get my watch back.

Danielle from Glasgow luggage point thank you ever so much

Would like to say a huge thank you to Danielle from Glasgow luggage point. My mum left her iPad on a flight and was absolutely devastated thinking she had lost it. Danielle helped so much emailing me back and forth and then to tell me that Danielle had found the iPad. Can not thank her enough. Danielle has been amazing

What started as a great first…

What started as a great first impression has simply declined each day - I unfortunately left a smart watch in the tray at security on the 10th November and realized whilst still on the ground in the aircraft at Birmingham airport - my item appeared a couple of days later which I claimed the item and have been back and forth since. I paid the relevant fees to return my watch on Monday 17th November however I have had complete silence since - no dispatch or tracking information, and no responses to my emails chasing - I have tried 4 times to call but the number cuts you off after a minutes of holding - very poor Birmingham Airport - it appears some of your colleagues around the country are doing a much better job - So where is my watch and who has my money - currently I feel like I have been scammed.

Lost ipad

I’d contacted the lost luggage dept in the hope of finding my iPad which I’d left on the plane the night before. I was quickly connected to the Glasgow Airport office and dealt with very quickly and very efficiently by Danielle who went through her security procedures and informed me that my iPad had been found. A great big thank you to her and the team at Glasgow Airport Lost Property Dept

Luggage Point - Return my lost Ipad

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Luggage Point for their excellent support in helping me recover my iPad. The team guided me through every step of the process and made what could have been a stressful situation incredibly straightforward.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and very accommodating throughout. Their professionalism and genuine willingness to assist made a real difference.

Highly recommended for anyone needing efficient and reliable assistance at the airport.

Brilliant service

Brilliant service. As soon as I realised I had lost my purse I emailed them and within 5 minutes they replied letting me know they had it. Kept me informed the whole time what was in my purse and where I could get it. Worth paying the fee knowing that my belongings were safe. Lovely helpful staff

Unresponsive, poor customer service

My bicycle lock was confiscated from me at Birmingham airport. I was told it would be given to Luggage Point and given a reference number. I filled in Luggage Point's online form with my details and heard nothing back. I left a review on Google maps which was responded to by Luggage Point. They provided an email address. I emailed and got a response to which I replied with the details they requested to send me my bike lock. I have not had a response to my email after chasing twice over the last month.

We were immensely grateful to the team for successfully retrieving our lost items. Everyone we had contact with was incredibly friendly and responsive. It also appeared to us that everyone was working well as a team making the service so excellent and we would like to congratulate them on this. What a team and positive experience - stress to calm thanks to them

What a team and experience at Glasgow airport Luggage Point ; Ross Lynn and Iain were truly incredible. I had stressful experience with a piece of luggage; the airline refused to take a large item. Not only did they help initially store it for us, but they came up with a solution to get it shipped to my home.

If only every business and team had the can do attitude they have brought, the world would be a better place.

Hats off to Andy!

Andy from Luggage Point called to say our lost items from Birmingham airport had been found, such a relief! Friendly and helpful, (though I do think we got a little lucky as our bag was easily identifiable and Andy happened to recall it). The search engine did not seem to show our item which was disheartening when trying to initially locate it, but we got there in the end so super pleased, thank you. (ps yes there is a retrieval fee, but this is understandable due to management of the service and we did not mind paying this at all).

Daylight robbery literally

Daughter lost her phone in the drop off car park & was handed in the morning of the 15th October 2025 we made a claim that very morning the website states that it’s £10 per day yet this horrendous company have quoted £27.50 plus the P&P to return the phone the P&P I get but £27.50 retrieval fee doesn’t sit right with me at the end of the day it’s an unfortunate situation to be in & no one’s fault really I wished I had time to challenge this because if your retrieving your property that you’ve lost it’s still your property by law so why do you have to pay ok a small admin fee maybe but £27.50 for an item we claimed on the very morning it was loaded on to the system & it clearly stated £10 per day how do you get to £27.50 shocking. So just had an update,
Breakdown of charges
Admin Fee (For what) £22.92
P&P (Without Insurance) £20.46
VAT £8.68
Total £52.05
For keeping an IPhone for literally half a day or do we also have to pay for the delays in responding to emails WOW just WOW but we do have the option to go & pick it up by appointment only to the tune of £27.50.
So after the reply below the reply confirms my sentiments & ethical reasons behind charging fees for lost property to simply make a business out of it,
If the phone had been lost anywhere else other than a airport & handed into the local constabulary or on other forms of transport IE my local bus operator do they charge a retrieval fee no they don’t anyway point is in my view a very unethical business & airports should bring it back in house & factor it in to their P&L not charge the person whom as had the unfortunate experience of losing the item in the first place.

Reply from Luggage Point

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry you’re unhappy with the charge and we completely understand that losing a valuable item like a phone is a stressful experience.

For clarity, our website does not state that the retrieval fee is £10 per day, in fact, our fee is not time-based at all. Whether the item is collected the same day or after 90 days, the cost remains the same because it reflects the liability, security, and administrative overhead involved in handling high-value items like iPhones, especially in a busy international airport environment. Lost Property services are governed by byelaws which are fully adhered to and can be viewed on the airport's website.

The admin fee covers much more than just “keeping” the item. It includes staffing the Lost Property desk for up to 18 hours a day, detailed item logging, records, secure storage in restricted-access facilities, insurance and traceability of valuables and operating costs of a premium airport concession

Having reviewed your case, all responses were within 24 hours the option to collect the item in person, or to arrange secure delivery to your home. The postage cost quoted is directly from our courier and includes packaging, handling and VAT.

We always aim to provide a helpful, transparent and secure service, and we’re sorry you feel let down on this occasion.

Super friendly staff, professional and helpful

Super friendly staff. professional and helpful. Even first thing in the morning the staff were polite, patient and willing to help. They helped me wrap two fishing rods and a bag, going beyond. Made it possible for me to get my late father's fishing equipment home.

Got it in the end. Al Hamduh Lillah !

Takes three days min to reply to each email. Last one now at almost 4 days. 10 days since lost.

Phoned three times internationally - Just rings out !

Still waiting....

20th October
Finally got my bag back but I am 3876 miles away. Thanks to Luggage Point for that !

It was a long and frustrating road. Many emails with replies 3/4 days later or goes into junk file which reads "0". They advertise a Tel No, which once through a long menu ends up being disconnected every time or does not reply at all.

Communication is all in the 21st century and LP Edinburgh struggles with it. Welcome to Edinburgh Airport, now owned by the French. the worst in UK. Having to hand carry 43kg from the rental car area to checkin (as no trolleys), then have Emirates not tag the band be then asked be carry the luggage to conveyor gives you a clue ! 2/10 for Vinci !

Anyway, i took 14 days to get the bag back. I think LP and Sam for that.

Now of Emirates who caused all this .....

Thank you for your feedback, Ian, and sincere apologies for the frustration and delay you've experienced.

While our standard target response time is up to 72 hours (as stated in our communications), we completely understand that when you're missing something important, even that can feel too long. Even more so when you're contacting us internationally.

At present, our Edinburgh team is mid-transition to a new location within the airport, which has unfortunately caused additional disruption and slower than usual response times. That said, your situation is important to us and we’re working through the backlog as quickly as possible.

If you haven’t had a response by the end of today, please email info@luggage-point.co.uk again with URGENT - 664993 in the subject line so we can prioritise this.

Thank you again for your patience during this challenging period.
