Not a bad product but appalling customer care service
If you have any desire to have an issue with MacPaw resolved , don’t bother! Despite having renewed my subscription, their system wouldn’t recognise this and whilst this isn’t an unsolvable problem- trying to get any support from their support centre- forget it! Made multiple attempts. Even their chat bot was away on holiday. Rubbish customer care service.

My old mac died and thank goodness I had backed it up. Clean my Mac didn't load onto new Mac. I contacted MacPaw by email and received a email back within 10 minutes. The instructions worked perfect. Thank you

Excellent support for a great product
What distinguishes this company from many others is not only that they have an excellent product, but when help is needed, one can contact a real technical support person. I experienced a problem upgrading and it was resolved with help from Support within 24 hours. I'm happy to continue subscribing to MacPaw for CleanMyMac.
Difficulty updating to new Clean My Mac version
I had difficulty updating to the new Clean My Mac version and mistakenly got rid of the wrong files. I sent a couple of screen shots to Customer Service and soon received an email from Denys explaining that I had the wrong version in my application folder. His directions were extremely clear and all links were in the email so I could follow his directions to install the newer version given my current subscription. This isn’t the first time I contacted Customer Support and I find they are responsive and helpful.
Customer experience needs to be improved
software is okay, but whatever I tried, could not find back my invoice. Tried the help function, but that was useless. I feel a lot is aimed at beautifying the software and offering. But the purchase- and after sales options are mediocre.

A vary good product and very good company.
I have used clean my mac for a while now and have had no problems.
I have contacted their support team and found they responded very quickly and helpfully.
Licence deactivation whilst still in paid subscription period.
Having used Cleanmymac and paid for a year subscription due to expire 25 Aug2025 this company deactivated my account before my subscription had ended. They owe me 6 weeks worth of my subscription cost. Appalling business model. Daily almost threatening in tone emails re renewing subscription. I cancelled and am using another product. Nightmare.

It’s very refreshing when people actually get back to you an help you with a problem. My issue was reinstalling on a new computer. The program is great and so easy to use. The customer service was excellent too.

signed up to clean my Mac, but the product didn’t do what I needed, so I cancelled my plan. Despite cancelling within the appropriate time frame, I wasn’t automatically issued a refund. I had to manually apply for it, only to be told that because I didn’t request the refund quickly enough, I was no longer eligible, even though I cancelled on time.
I also reached out to customer service, who took months to respond, only to say they wouldn’t honour a refund for a product I no longer use.
Terrible experience. I would strongly recommend staying away from this company.

I purchased a lifetime license for CleanMyMac X
I purchased a lifetime license for CleanMyMac X about 1.5 years ago, trusting the company and investing upfront in their product. Now, I see that in order to use the new CleanMyMac version, I have to pay again. This feels very unfair. The new version is simply an improved version of what I already paid for — the core functionality remains the same, only the design has been updated.
You’re not even selling CleanMyMac X anymore. So it is a version. Not a new product.
I believe the company misunderstands the meaning of a lifetime license. There’s a difference between a "new version" and a "new product." This is not a completely new product; it’s a version update of the existing software.
Customers like me provided the budget that allowed this new version to be developed. We gave the company upfront liquidity to continue operations and pay employees. And this is how they reward that trust? It’s disappointing.
If I were to buy another lifetime license now, would they release “CleanMyMac 1000” next year and ask for even more money? It feels like they are taking advantage of loyal customers who invested early and believed in their product.
The new version of CleanMyMac is a marketing version to make more money off One-Time X subscribers. MacPaw cannot be trusted.
