Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry the pack did not meet the expectations created by our promotional photographs. As our cuts are prepared by hand, their shape and appearance can vary from the images, but they should always meet the quality and eating standard we expect. We’re disappointed to hear that your fillet steak felt only average, and we will take your comments on board as we continue to review our packs and product presentation.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience, particularly as we know you had been looking forward to enjoying your order.

We believe the exceptionally warm weather may have affected one particular item within your order. As a precaution, however, we treated the matter as though the entire order may have been affected. For both your safety and to allow us to investigate fully, we immediately arranged for all of the remaining products to be returned to us.

You chose to receive a refund rather than replacement products, and we processed that refund promptly upon receipt of the returned goods. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to put matters right.

The only item not refunded was the pack of bacon, as this had already been consumed and you advised us that you were very happy with it.

Although the caveman steak had already been disposed of and therefore could not be examined, we did thoroughly inspect every other product that was returned. None of those items showed any evidence that they had been affected, suggesting that if there was an issue, it was isolated to the caveman steak itself. Unfortunately, as that particular item had already been disposed of, we were unable to carry out an inspection of it.



We’re sorry that you experienced this issue, but we’re pleased we were able to resolve the matter promptly in accordance with your wishes.

We’re genuinely sorry that you lost your order, as we fully appreciate how disappointing and frustrating that must have been.

However, your review contains a number of factual inaccuracies which we feel it is important to correct for the benefit of anyone reading it.

When an order is placed, customers enter their own delivery address during checkout. We then transmit those details to DPD exactly as they have been provided. We do not amend or alter delivery addresses. Our investigation confirmed that DPD attempted delivery using the address submitted with your order. No error was made by either Malpas Farm Shop or DPD in the address information used.

Every customer receives an order confirmation and our “How We Process Your Order” email, both of which ask customers to carefully check their delivery details before dispatch. This is because, once a parcel containing fresh, perishable goods enters the courier network, amending an address is extremely difficult and, in most cases, impossible.

It is important to distinguish between a parcel being delivered to the wrong address because of an error by a retailer or courier, and one being delivered to the address provided by the customer during checkout. Following our investigation, this was the latter.

Your parcel was tracked throughout its journey and marked as delivered on the Saturday. Had you contacted us at that point, when the tracking showed the parcel had been delivered somewhere you did not recognise, we would have immediately contacted DPD to try to recover the parcel or otherwise assist. Unfortunately, when we investigated this matter with you, it was established that your contact with us on the Tuesday was the first time you had notified us of any delivery issue. By then, the opportunity to intervene had passed.

Your review also states that we were closed over the weekend. That is not correct. Our online customer support and our retail store was operating throughout. We nevertheless asked whether there had been any earlier attempts to contact us so that we could investigate them fully. After reviewing our telephone records, voicemail system and email records, we were unable to identify any earlier contact.

We are always prepared to accept responsibility where we have made a mistake and will do everything reasonably possible to put matters right. Equally, we have a responsibility to respond honestly where the evidence shows that neither we nor our courier were responsible. We are sincerely sorry that you lost your order, but after reviewing the checkout information, our own records and DPD’s findings, we remain satisfied that the parcel was delivered using the address submitted at checkout and that we were not made aware of any problem until several days later, when any realistic opportunity to recover the parcel had unfortunately passed.
