14/06/25,,what a joke?thye send me new tax year bill to my old address where even i didnot lve anymore and they have been informed too they day we moved.and they send the new bill from june 25 till april 26(hahaha)and the worst part is the bill i got previously on my old address was a huge reduction due to severe disablity and low income,but they send new bill almost tripple the price even im not on that address anymore.such ahuge rippoff,ofcourse im gona report and will never pay a penny which i didnot owed,they juss start harrsing people with disrepect and fraud tricks.

I received a parking fine from Manchester Parking Services for being slightly outside a bay – a trivial issue that caused no obstruction and was only necessary because another car had encroached into my space. Despite explaining this and providing evidence, they flat-out refused to use common sense or discretion.

I had paid in full for 24 hours, followed all other rules, and yet they still enforced this ridiculous penalty, proving this isn't about fairness – it's just a cash-grabbing operation. They hide behind rigid policies rather than applying logic or fairness.

Genuine enforcement is one thing – this is just exploiting drivers to generate revenue. If you’re parking in Manchester, be warned: even the slightest, unavoidable misalignment will land you with a fine, and they'll ignore any reasonable appeal.

Appalling customer service, zero fairness, and an outright abuse of the system. Avoid at all costs.

Story starts in town i enter a bus lane no markings on the turn and an action i had to take owing to a vehicle oncoming which would have blocked the highway in both directions.
It was a large truck, the car behind me did exactly the same cut at a convenient moment for the evidence on the MCR council site, i challenged it and they surprisingly upheld themselves.
They then sent dogs CEDR a few weeks later in January where my £75 fine was now a £389 payment.
I was forced to pay £100 then £289 on feb 28th which is non negotiable not once was I questioned or asked about my finances i did raise this and explained this was not affordable, it would cause some problems which i do not want to go into.
They basically did not care, I then two weeks ago complained on the council website to which i got no response not even a reference ,I have just repeated that today.
To act like they the council care about peoples wellbeing is a joke

Nightmare neighbour, they did nothing but escalate the situation and took neighbour's side and because I complained, throwing things at me to twist the blame on to the victim. So much evidence I gave them but they did nothing and he just carries on

Fined having turned left from a side street into a poorly marked bus lane and driven for a short distance. Roads completely empty at the time and my brief infringement caused no delay or inconvenience to any bus or other road user. You can have your £30 to avoid risk of it doubling to 60, but you have lost the respect and support of another Greater Manchester resident. Well done you

Been trying to pay council tax since we moved in, in May. (It's 30th August) I have tried several times now and provided proof in a recent complaint I have made, following a court summoning for my poor landlord. Not at all our or landlords fault, and the council have not responded to a single email or request. Honestly pathetic system and service. Don't move here. Go to Salford, Tameside or Telford council.

Spoke to a woman called Indie or Indy in regards to helping out a homeless man get a shelter for the night. She was nothing but rude and dismissive. She didn’t help out at all. Please get this dealt with please

Got my bin nicked last night, the grey one, so I try to order a new one and apparently they're 25 quid now, someone stole it from me and I'm somehow responsible for its replacement, that's a good scam isn't it! So basically if you're a victim on an estate and people see you as easy picking, you'll be paying 25 quid every two weeks because some lowlife wants a new bin and yours is easy to take, if the want to charge this for bins they need trackers in them or serial numbers that get scanned so nobody can use someone else's bin otherwise its a free for all and the weakest in any area gets to foot the bill for the lack of council accountability.

I have experienced a strange issue with my council tax payments. I split my payments x12 months and paying every month installments. They have changed their website and by issued me a summon when I was making my payments still on time. Unsure I cannot see any of my payments from the past few months and all have disappeared. Strangely there has been no history of me logging in when checked under my profile.

There is literally no way to get in touch with Council too so unsure what to do.

Well. I was dreading ringing ctax. Hate their department, really arms length. Anyway rang today. 17th in the queue and I get cut off. Rang again and 19th in the queue. Finally offered ring back, which I took. Dreading it. Anyway cornelius from ctax rings me and I got to say the nicest person you could speak to and really helpful. All is forgiven, that they actually might be a nice department

How hard is it to contact Manchester city council tax dept? virtually impossible, website is awful, kept on phone for ages, emailed, automatic reply came back a 'will reply within 28 days', but I guess they will charge me for not paying on time, just want an answer to a simple question! Manchester Council sort out yourselves, so frustrating.

Ordered a collection of my old cooker . Told them exactly where it would be ....right outside my front door in plain sight . Got email saying they couldn't pick it up as it wasn't where I said I would be . What a joke!

Received a fine for bus lane transgression, which I paid in full, £60.Received a letter re claiming back £30, if proof could be provided that payment had been made- obviously it had! I Provided the required evidence- still not received the £30 refund, despite further emails. What is going on?!!

They have just been ignoring my emails regarding council tax for 3 years now. I send an email and they LITERALLY reply after one year each time asking for the same information and when I reply, they just seem to ignore my reply! I can't reach to them by phone at all, no one to talk to..I have moved to Stockport council recently and they are much much better, I can contact them by phone immediately, they reply to emails in time and also I can talk to them through live chat! I hope Manchester Council learn from their neighbor.

Would give zero stars of I could an absolute disgusting service they take your money then screw you over for it.

So, the council is to introduce a tourist tax! Why? The place is a dump.

In fact, the best view of Manchester is the one in the rear view mirror.

Baffled why anybody would want to go to this place. I’ve had the misfortune in the past to go there on business. That was more than enough.
