Manchester City Council Reviews 

I have been having multiple issues with the council tax department, some members of staff are extremely helpful while others are patronising, belittling and just out right rude, especially the colleague named Sim. She was patronising, unhelpful and wouldn’t let me speak and simply refused to help me.

Excellent. I am a social tenant and my landlord is Manchester City council.I feel safe in my house and have free wife Internet access in the Manchester City council registered libraries. Very nice council people in libraries as well.I appreciated them and council for helping well educated women always without any discrimination. Thanks

Sick of them been living many years in manchester can not afford private expensive house and can not get from council t as well, once I have been left homeless 😔 now again almost same situation but didn't ring them this time yet because I feel will be same be honestly don't trust feel well down there are many complications after that stay in stress all the time , somethings and some stress canot explain even only the person knows who is suffering, I feel it they made me to suffer I got mental health problems because of this stress 😩 I'm just writing here to see really it dose work this or its just review review game , dose anyone really read and give any solution, if someone wants to live on right track of life why they don't corporate? I belive you go in Manchester anywhere you can find house easily without tendency, it will be cheaper but they can kick you out easily as well but when you speak to council they will ask have you got tendency? ,have you paid council tax this and that , but on first place everyone needs to have a roof on head so they want to get inside first even without tendency like me ,when you go homeless, no one cares either you got good income or you are making dirty money or you spend all of your income to have decent place to live low pay people are in stress or people are in debts ,so us kind of people can't make progress in life and face more difficulties which put them in more vulnerability many things still canot explain , wasn't writing because don't want to have an other hassle, just looking for peace, left last place because of noise problem complaint many times for this but not sorted so left place I couldn't take more been suffering and was in extreme stress because of situation, to me it looks nothing is going to change situation all of my life almost been working and end up in sad situation, I don't want any decent person go in bad and sad and stressful situation that's why I'm writing here not accusing anyone not complaining because this can make trouble I lived all of my life with fear , had been bullied in my life many times thanks for this platform I could write otherwise I would might never speak out at least it hides my identity , please help people try to make easy for them, I'm in extreme stress at the moment, i wanted to change career but can't do anything canot focus on anything

I recently was given a stall on wythenshawe indoor market so my wife and I went along and spent a lot of hard earned money and time fitting the stall out to sell food,fridges, cooking equipment and so on after 3 days of trading I found out they were closing the market and selling the building to some investors in September I immediately went to see manager and he said he'd informed me of the closure, I would like to know what kind of fool would I be to open and close after 3 days of trading someone is lying and it's not me how can the council play with people's lives and then send a bill for a month's rent

What the he'll is going on with this council. So once again my brown bin ain't collected. So by the time it is it will have not been emptied for 6 weeks. Garden full of plastic bags full of recycled bottles and tins. Which I would like to point out you make money from on top of charging us council tax rates. How about I bring my rubbish to your head office and dump it all there and see if it takes you 6 weeks then to move it. Shocking council and the major of this city makes out like he has made manchester better. Let's look at that because since he has been in charge its worse than ever. How about you step down and employ more bin men with that money as your job is pointless

Communication from the council is virtually non existent, and if you have a question, it probably won't be answered. I'm constantly either ignored or provided with copy and paste answers.
2021 communication requires an app, or some form of push notifications - Manchester Council is stuck in 1998, printing communication and providing updates on what looks like a low end school intranet website.

i wudnt even give them 1 star as tere very unfriendly and only focused od makin money by deception i got a parkin ticket on st peters square on a bike and showed them proof that they let other guys park tere bikes on tere no tickets but they put a ticket on mine but no other bikes and then try and victimise gud honest peeps and take tere money they r so corrupt and a bunch of liars dont no wot tere doin at all tried xplainin and they just wont listen but its ok 2 ticket my bike but no 1 elses discrimination at its best the traffic wardens r useless rung up and they say if u pay u loose ure rite 2 appeal but im not leavin it at that i refuse 2 be victimised by them and they aint gettin nowt owt of me at all i told them i wanna go court bowt it

Shameless dishonest traffic wardens.. not officers as they claim to be.. patrolling Stockport Rd, Manchester. These gutter-snipe wardens snap images of cars back to back without processing a ticket and send it by Post.. It's not about safe parking / traffic flow management on enforcements.. the cowards can't state true facts - it's all about generating revenue dishonestly like shabby thieves. No point appealing to the biased 3rd rate Tribunal clowns .. they are equally dumb and clueless in getting to the bottom of the truth.. if these Tribunal jokers queried much and sided with the appellants on Appeals then they'd be out of a job.. kangaroo court like from a Dictator style system.. disgraceful.

The council is very focused on making money and issuing parking tickets but then not dealing with the procedure after. They will not send notices to correct owners and then pass on to debt collection firm and walk away. I would park in a private car park like ncp and not on any paid bays.

The council are a nightmare, these two ladies have continued to be very supportive

Money grabbers - what the **ck is a bus gate - operates between 06.00 am and 9pm - not well signposted - was at MRI and they are having lots of work done along with changes to entrances due to COVID so ended up making an error and turned onto Oxford rd. council don’t consider any excuses just want your money - never heard of bus gate. Andy Burnham is a waste of space - can’t control the police - doesn’t help the homeless like he promised he would and only interested in political gain

What a shoddy mickey mouse outfit this is. The parking department define unprofessionalism and incompetence at its worse. Over an hour on phone to someone not fit to clean my toilet. Most of the call I was on hold.
The worst customer service ever!!!!

Very rude agent. They don't even let you talk. They don't have patients to do their job. Asked her several time to transfer me to another agent and she refused to do it. It is a very difficult situation for everybody in this pandemic. I am sure Manchester Council tax center can find more empathetic people to work for them.

Few weeks ago, as a family we had scare with regards to coved19 and had to go through Manchester city centre for korona test. It seems with the panic and stress; I managed to go through bus lane and recieved a penalty notice. I explained my circumstances and it seems wasn't good enough for exemption and had to pay the fee. I think manchester council penalty charge are cruel people and lacks humanity..shame on you and just think if you were in my position then what would you do

if there was 0 stars then Manchester city council would get that,I went bus lane via hire car by Auxlilis Manchester city council sent the fine after 4 months to Auxlils asdress and they sent that to me,the fine states paid within 28 days if £30 but it stated £60,Auxlilis and and Manchester city council are very unnprofessnal and unacceptable service!!!!!

Awful service, even the housing associations managed to redirect important lines to operatives working from home, Manchester council on the other hand shuts up shop whilst still demanding council tax for a virtually non existent service, they're sending out council tax bills but haven't provided even one call center worker for those who don't have internet access or don't understand modern technology and that wouldn't even be that bad if it weren't for the basically inoperable nature of their web site, when trying to fill in the form for council tax the screen will automatically and irreversibly zoom in so you can't even see what's supposed to go in each (largely obscured) box, it's been like that for as long as I can remember. Utterly lacking in reliability and effective aid towards the city they're supposed to hold together.

Poor customer skill and I’ve been pretty bad at responding ding to emails during covid- 19. The phone line is switched off and all you can do is wait for an email response.

I got a PCN for the second time for being in bus lane at Oxford Road between Charles Street to Brancaster Road.
There is no sign to warn drivers!!!!!
Avoid Oxford Road!!!

In Higher Openshaw Aldermoor Close, and Reading close, also other local streets, We have just had £1,000.000 squandered on the worst road repairs in history, I have no idea why they destroyed the roads on Aldermoor close and Reading close because there was no problem with these roads the condition of them was far superior to the condition after the so called repairs, we are left with a road surface that is full with loose stone and a very rough finish where the surface meats the curb it is random and irregular when it rains we have low spots holding water because of the uneven surface. I expect at least that Manchester Council do not pay a penny to the contractor I am assuming Manchester council did not do the work because it is so bad.
