Steve from Freehold Jeep

I used this firm on July 27th 2022 and found all of the employees that I made contact with very personable and accommodating. Liliana and Sophia @ 420 E 62nd St. were especially professional and helpful. I will definitely recommend MMS based on my interactions with these two exemplary employees. If I could give them 5 more Stars I would!

They committed about numerous illegal acts, stole things from a storage unit, and grinned about it

They committed about four illegal acts and now we have to sue and employees might have stolen everything from our storage unit by refusing to give a notification and proof of auction.

My girlfriend was late on her storage unit while juggling storage and her busy schedule. That was her fault. What wasn't her fault is that they claimed her storage was fine when she inquired. Then they ignored both the contract and lien law to seize her goods. It requires certified notification she is late. She was never notified at all she was late. It then requires notice of auction. There was no evidence of an auction. Their rep at Harlem lied about the entire contract, told her coldly her goods are prob in the garbage, then tried to intimidate her, which is also a breach, by saying they won't even check auction status if she calls again. That same rep Ashley Serrano signed the contract and grinned about breaking it with zero empathy for the thousands of things they took and sentimental items. Then she refused to give her manager data. Finally when I called she foolishly admitted to breaking the law while being legally recorded after being informed and I had, had it. They have been ruled against for far less egregious acts before. There is something beyond suspicious going on there and I strongly implore you not to use this company. I wouldn't trust that lady with a mop and will prob also be seeking legal remedies against her personally and not just the company.

They will raise your rent without…

They will raise your rent without notice - especially if you are on direct deposit payments. They will do these rent hikes 14 days before the bill is due - giving you no time to cancel (you must submit in writing 14 days before in writing to cancel service). They will automatically update your lease agreement in your account without your signature and claim they did not do so.

Absolutely a scam - run away - do not use this service.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL company

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL company. Their service is poor, employees are lazy and don't care about customers whatsoever - and not to mention that it is exorbitantly priced. Avoid this company at ALL costs! There are many better options out there.

Staff are condescending and rude

Apparently you cannot be abroad when renting from Manhattan mini storage. The lady I spoke to name Sophie, was extremely rude and condescending. She even tried to explain to me how to work the website - I didn't ask for and as someone younger, I 100% knew how to do. There were issues on my end as I -SURPRISE- am not in the US right now. In the end she did not want to assist me and the operations manager stepped in so that I don't have to "call her again".

The space in general is very spacious and a good price, which is why I give it 2 stars.

The East Village location has horrible…

The East Village location has horrible customer service, it's just ashame. They do not really care about your concerns or what you have to say. Its always negative to ignore a customer instead of simply acknowledging their concerns. It's extremely unprofessional. I've worked in customer service over a decade and would never treat paying or inquiring customers with the lack respect in which they do. Their phone presence is at an all time low. I've never had such bad customer service.
Over a year and a half ago when I first became a customer it seemed okay but the longer I've used this company's services it seems to be a decline in customer satisfaction. I'm not sure if it exists there anymore. Its seems as if they are building a reputation for mishandling customers needs and concerns. It doesn't take a lot to act like you care or to at least act as though you are paying attention.

The manager is poorly trained in customer service as well. I really do not understand how the company allows him to work with the community. He talks to you in a condescending manner with a bothered tone. He doesn't even introduce himself properly or at all. He's not even really concerned what you have to say. How can he lead staff properly if he's lacking the needed qualities.

For him to state there's no security in rates that they can change every hour in order to trick a faithful customer into opting for a offer when they ask if they can think about it and call back. To tell someone in an hour the rate quote is subject to increase at any moment to a completely different rate is peer  "Manipulation." He talks to you as if he's giving you  an ultimatum. He doesn't listen to you in the least bit, its distasteful. Nor does he call customers back when requested or stating he will.

This company should really be ashamed of how the staff treats people. The employee with the best customer service at that location it's sad to say is the Janitor/Mataince man. I'm not saying he shouldn't be good at customer service, I'm saying that's not his job description and he's better at it than the individual's who are trained in the matter.

The staff seems very confused when they are asked questions even ones that are simplistic. I'm not sure if they only know how to assist beyond whatever has been scripted but they need to understand how to work with people in a more professional way. They only choose to act as if they care about assisting your needs after you become extremely frustrated (which didn't happen untilI spoke to multiple people about the same matter). They should be concerned in the beginning.

The staff should simply just take fault in their actions, apologize to loyal or any customers. Not try to make customers feel unappreciated, unsatisfied and upset to a point the customer wants to change facilities. Customer service can be quite simplistic if an effort is actually attempted...

I used to tell everyone that they should try Manhattan Mini Storage but I will definitely inform them about the decline in customer service and lack of customer satisfaction there. Its ridiculous. It takes a great deal to get me upset or even bothered and I'm at another level. Most people I know in every aspect in life would consider me one of the nicest most respectful people you'll ever meet. So if this staff can ruin how I feel about this company it must be an issue there.

I'm not sure about the staff at other locations but the East Village employees especially the male manager needs to be replaced or retrained. These interactions should never take place. Delivering excellent customer service should be a priority although the staff is not even concerned about attempting to deliver mediocre assistance. There's no dedication to fill a customer's needs or even care about them. The online chat aspect needs a bit of improvement as well.

Improper, insincere and inhumane customer service is what this location displays. Customer inquiries and comments end in disappointment and decline of clientele due to the lack of service provided.

They consistently bypass any opportunity to properly address my issues and concerns. I wouldn't complain if this is a one time issue but this it is a growing issue. The biggest issue is their phone etiquette. I was scheduled a call back time that never occurred. Nor did anyone ever follow up and its not the first or second time. I used to just let it go. But it's become frustratingly overwhelming.

When I called to follow up since I hadn't heard anything after several days of when I was informed I'd be contacted staff didn't even take fault in the matter until I mentioned how they could have at least contacted me stating the manager wasn't available and reschedule or apologized for the inconvenience. I shouldn't have to but the idea in their heads it should be automatic.

There's no aspect of customer service in existence there. It's sad. Hopefully I can transfer my property to somwhere that is inclined to care about customer satisfaction. Or at least act like

BEWARE OF PRICE HIKES

BEWARE OF PRICE HIKES. This company offers a promotional price to get you in and then, when the promotional period ends, they significantly hike up the price -- repeatedly. In May 2018, I paid a promo rate of $184 for nine months (in order to get the promo rate in the first place you have rent for at least 4 months). Then the price went to $264, which I had expected. After only three months at that higher price, I just received a notice that as of June 1, 2019 the fee will increase an additional $36 bringing my storage bill to $300 monthly. That's more than a 60% increase in one year!!!!! Shame on them. I will be looking around for a better deal, that's for sure. Be prepared to pay way more than you've budgeted if you are in need of long-term storage space.

The structure and process of storing is a mess

The structure and process of storing is difficult, complicated, and slow. The marketing for Mini Storage is better than the actual experience. The employees are not helpful during the process and basically limited to operate due to the poor infrastructure of the business.

Manhattan Mini is a great service!

I have always had a pleasant experience with Manhattan Mini storage. Staff is very friendly and even though I only see them once or twice a year, they remember me and are very friendly and helpful. Whenever I have a problem, they always help! The storage van is also great and I've had a pleasant experience using it. The facility is also great and I love that it opens early and closes late. I've been using Manhattan Mini for a few years now and it's always phenomenal!!

no major issues with move in

Although we had an issue with the initial size of the storage unit...the staff was easy to work with and we all came to a compromise and ended up with a larger unit at the same price. Make sure you have the EXACT measurements of the unit before move in....not approximate measurements
