While the sale of my house was eventually completed, I can’t say the experience was a positive one overall. The process became very stressful, largely due to the lack of communication from the move manager, Carol Hartley. Calls were rarely returned, which left me constantly chasing for updates and added unnecessary stress during an already difficult process.

Carol worked Monday to Wednesday as part of a job share arrangement, while Hannah Butland covered Thursday and Friday. In contrast, Hannah was excellent — professional, responsive, helpful, and reassuring throughout. She made a noticeable difference whenever she was involved.

Unfortunately, because of the inconsistent communication and support, my overall experience was disappointing.

Sally has been absolutely wonderful throughout the process of buying our house. She is lovely, kind, helpful, and always willing to answer any questions we have had. Her support and communication have made the whole experience much less stressful, and we really appreciate all of her hard work. Thank you, Sally, for being so approachable and supportive.

The positives - friendly and polite approach and eventually got our property sold albeit lower than our floor price.
However there were many areas where we expected better - could have been more proactive in getting more people through the door, giving advance notice of viewing appointments, getting useful feedback rather than 'we've tried to call and email but not had any feedback', having solutions other than just lowering the price, once a deal was agreed the management of the buyer and the solicitors needed a much more firm hand. The agent handling our property was fairly junior and despite multiple requests for the branch manager to assist and take control of situations they were not the most forthcoming. At times it felt like the buyer was able to call the shots rather than the agent acting on the best interests of the vendor.
We went with Manning Stainton because they appeared to have sold other properties on our road and their approach was more friendly upfront. Just felt lacklustre once the property hit the market and was constantly having to chase for 6 months to get it sold and completed.

I cant thank Mannings enough! I had my Dads leasehold flat on the market with another agency for over a year with minimal viewings. I switched to Mannings, got great advice from Manager Helen, and it was sold within a few months. Unfortunately we have since had to wait for probate to be granted. I have found Niamh to be incredibly professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, which has genuinely made a stressful situation much less worrying. When I come to sell my own property this year, I will be asked for Niamh at Mannings to manage the sale.

It took over a year to sell the house. That’s not a good performance in anyone’s book. After several agents who had disappointed we eventually got Niahm who was a breath of fresh air. Courteous, efficient and an excellent communicator.
