Poor customer service
Poor customer service. Account locked because stupid system didn't send me a code to my phone as promised. Multiple attempts to resend code locked account. On hold for stupid amount of time. Worst bit: some poncey on-hold music which plays the intro, then just as the singer starts singing goes to a prerecorded message. Worse than military interrogation. I think once I've unlocked, I'll be closing the account as they are no longer competitive and I could do with less accounts with companies with poor customer service (so many to choose from). Currently locked out and they don't answer phones. Terrible

Regulatory documents not in an accessible format.
When the contact Center and complaints team won’t send you regulatory information in an accessible format and refer you to PDF’s which do not work with assistive software it’s not a good first impression and it’s discriminatory Marcus. Your staff need training.

ISA Transfers Massively Delayed
ISA transfers are supposed to be done within a specified timeframe (15 days for Cash and 30 days for Stocks and Shares). It takes over 30 days to get a response from this bank to say if they even acknowledge the transfer request. I was consistently told that no request had been filed and then all of a sudden told it had been seen even though nothing changed. I’ll be moving my money elsewhere as no point having average rates and not being able to put your money where it needs to be.
Need to know what they offer!
Rand to check a subsidiary branch of this company but three people had never heard of Marcus UK, the third gentleman (?) I spoke to told me " Sorry never heard of them , have a great day, goodbye!" I always thought I had preferred a real.person to AI but on this occasion I am sure AI wouldn't have been this bad. I thought this could be a "clone" company so phone FCA , who eventually were able to confirm they did in fact exist. Not impressed
Marcus So Far So Perfect.
Our personal experience at having had a Marcus savings account for a few years now we’ve had no problems or issues with our Marcus account interest is paid out regularly and on time money transfers have been faultless both in and out, good bonus rates of interest too, and on the few occasions where we have had cause to contact them they have been most helpful in every way which filled us with confidence and reassurance.
There are rules and regulations regarding their operating times which they make you aware of in the T&CS conditions which should be read to give you a good idea of how they operate along with other useful information admittedly ours is only a savings account so our review is based on that fact, but all in all our Marcus account has suited us and we would recommend a savings account with them but just take time to read the rules and regulations along with the T&CS and be aware of them before you have any complaints.
Poor service and very worrying with transfers
I did a transfer to my linked account today. 2 hrs now and no funds. Seems like this bank takes a day off on a Sunday. Still waiting on funds. Ridiculous in this modern age of technology.
Bereavement
My wife passed in early March. I have inherited her savings currently with this company. I have provided MCT and Probate and all other documents which have been received and confirmed by them.
On contacting them I am told the delay would be resolved at end of week but it isn’t.
Now over two months I am concerned at the slow progress by this company especially as they are currently undertaking an advertising campaign.

Marcus by Goldman Sachs closed my accounts without any notice — no letter, email, or phone call. I had full legal authorization from my elderly father to manage our joint account, and it was suddenly revoked after the closure. When I finally reached someone, I was told the bank “has the right to close accounts at any time.” They gave me incorrect contact info, refused to provide an interpreter for my father, and offered no support. This was handled with zero transparency or care. MY ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED ON 2/11/25, AND I STILL DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO MY FUNDS. I would not trust them with your money.

Be prepared to hustle when trying to withdraw your own money, first the put a hold without you asking for, second Custumer service is ridiculous called them 3 times to help simply withdraw my own money and the 4th time they answered the call but no one responded all of them seems to not be happy working and very sleepy, do your self a favor and try a more professional savings account to put your hard earned money.

The most unhelpful company I have dealt with as the executor of an estate. They do not understand laws in various states and would prefer to keep funds from the rightful heirs as help them get the money that was legally intended for them without going through very expensive and lengthy court proceedings. I would never use this company.

I originally created my savings account because of the interest rate and fast transfers. But no interest is subpar and now they randomly restricted my account and I have no way to contact customer services so I can't access my money

Not customer friendly service
I just do not understand these banks who force me to call change my mobile number. Are you suggesting being logged in securely on your app isn't secure enough for me to change number? That speaking to someone on a phone is safer?
Lloyds bank let me change my number on the app, It took me less than a minute.
I am tempted just to open an account with another bank and move my money across.
