Mata Foundation Botox and Filler

Sarah, our trainer , was fabulous. She is a fantastic teacher who instils confidence. It is an anxious time learning new clinical skills but I absolutely trusted her supervision. She made the learning fun and although it was a busy packed day I very much enjoyed it. On a less positive note I feel that students need more information prior to the training day. For example I had spent time preparing lunch when lunch was provided. I also paid to have the log book printed but one was provided on the day.

Foundation classes in ManchesterBeing new to aesthetics I was very…

Being new to aesthetics I was very nervous about the foundation classes and injecting someone’s face. However, Amy, the trainer, explained everything in an easy to understand manner which immediately put me at ease and gave me the confidence to perform injections. We were supported through every step of the procedures, how to complete our logbooks and encouraged to think about our clients independently from assessment to aftercare advice. Amy was very patient and supportive throughout and answered all our questions along with helpful advice regarding what we need to start our own journey in aesthetics. At no point were we rushed through any of the appointments and the team at Manchester, especially Millie were fabulous.
I am now really looking forward to the advanced injection techniques and really hope that Amy will be my trainer again.

Absolutely horrendous company - be warned!!

I signed up for my level 7 almost a year ago and I have never known anything like MATA.

If you actually get to attend a course, (through the series of last minute cancellations and wasted costs of travel fees after paying thousands of pounds for the course), the training itself is subpar. Very few of the trainers are able to give any structured and consistent advice about completing the online work/workbooks.
The models themselves are rushed through the room, with admin staff regularly interrupting procedures and learning to try and rush the trainers along, presumably trying to get as much profit from the day as possible. One admin member got visibly annoyed with our trainer after rudely walking in and interrupting them mid-procedure, when they were taking their time to demonstrate very helpful things to us, because there was another model waiting. The training itself does not feel like the priority in any way. I also have never done basic things like lips during 4 days of training, because there was "not enough time".

By far the worst element of the company is the communication and organisation. After signing up for the course, the communication was absolutely shocking. No one answered the phones to me or my emails for the most part, and for weeks I barely got replies from the staff when I had simple questions about the online work or course dates. I actually was worried that it was a scam for the first weeks until I got to speak to someone semi-properly. Other delegates have told me the same. They seem to have a high turn over of staff (unsurprisingly) and so there is very little consistency in who you speak to, if you actually get through to anyone via email or phone.

I have had 4 last minute cancellations of course days in total, and in one year I still have not managed to attend 5 days of training because of this, as they offer courses pretty infrequently. Excuses range from "sudden unexpected illness" to no explanation at all. I know from other delegates that the cancellations happen regularly across different sites. There is no offer for reimbursement of wasted travel fees at any point and the attitude is very much "not our fault so deal with it" when things are cancelled. I have even heard from one delegate who travelled to London, that no one turned up at the venue on his Mentorship day, no one answered phones or emails and the delegates were sat in the cold for hours until someone showed up. Just incredible, they have no idea what is going on. For my own training I have sat around for hours waiting for late trainers, though thankfully not outside.

The 40 online questions are not really part of the content of the online course so you have to do your own research/googling, and they are very open to interpretation. If you get anything wrong I am advised by a fellow delegate that they send you 40 more to complete without feedback - they are 100 words minimum each so >4,000 words to just go and repeat. They also want you to complete a case study on a patient you see again over time, but when I tried to organise a model I had treated to come back during my next training day, the admin team just said "we can't really do that", even though the model was happy to come back and was as confused as me as to why she couldn't - they want you to organise this case study outside of the course, basically. The whole reason I am taking the course is to complete the diploma and feel safe injecting, before organising my own patients, and we pay more than enough money for this to be facilitated, surely?

In one year of meeting other delegates, I have not met any who have been awarded the diploma, even when some have submitted their work several months earlier. As usual there is no reply for months to completed work. I am now in a position where I work full time, and wanted to complete this course months ago at a time when work was less busy, and a time that suited me. I am now faced with very little time to complete the demanding online work and I have zero time and energy left for more ridiculous cancellations and wasted money, with very little assurance that I will actually get the diploma if I do persevere.

I could go on and on, quite honestly. I have asked for my money back with discount of what I have actually been able to attend, of course the answer is "no". I signed up for MATA because they had a Christmas discount. I did my homework and the reviews looked decent. However, they have not reflected my experiences in any way. I wish I had never bothered and paid more for a proper course who deliver what you pay so much money for. Please don't make the same mistake!

I love coming here

I love coming here! Was in for my second visit this afternoon, first time being only a few weeks ago and I can honestly say I can’t wait to return. I’m a total wooss when it comes to needles and yet when I leave here I don’t feel anywhere near as traumatised as I would expect. Both trainer and trainee have had such a lovely way with them that I feel in safe hands. I also get given loads of great advice on skincare and other procedures that would be beneficial which I truly appreciate. Also as someone who is unable to work at the moment it’s great to be able to get treatments done at prices I find affordable. Thank you once again ladies I look forward to the next time I visit

I love MATA

I love MATA! I've been three times now and I'm definitely going back, in the New Year too. Sarah has on the three occasions been the lead injector. Sarah is absolutely brilliant at her job, being a medical professional but also an expert at aesthetics. She is a very nice person, who makes me feel safe in her hands. I must say too, that learner injector yesterday who carried out my Botox, watched and guided by Sarah, was the nicest girl who in her main job is a nurse. It was like talking to my friends whilst thinking how great is this, I'm getting expert work done here, by people I like and trust, but also most importantly at a very cheap price.

Big shout out too, for the lovely admin worker Smitha, who I really liked. We blethered away before my treatment about our lives. I felt if I meet Smitha again, I'd want to carry on our conversations. Such a nice person.

Thus thank you all at MATA you are my stars x

MATA IS AMAZING!!

I have been going to MATA as a model for years, Sarah and her delegates have been treating me all that time and it is AMAZING, Sarah is the best at what she does and all the delegates that have treated me over the year have been outstanding, very professional and always make you feel completely at ease, you get a lovely welcome from Smitha when you arrive and made to feel very welcome, I wouldn’t go anywhere else now and anyone who is thinking about it this is your sign to do it… you will not be disappointed 😊

Highly recommend

Started my level 7 journey with mata this year and recently completed my advanced mentorship training day with amy at the manchester clinic. I gained a wealth of knowledge from her and was really happy with the amount of models we had that day, i left feeling fully confident that everything i practice in my own clinic was being done correctly. I highly recommend her no question was too silly to ask 😊

Iv been going to mata for 2/3 years…

Iv been going to mata for 2/3 years now,, the tutor is a perfect example of a Aesthetic Nurse/tutor and this shows in her students also 💫 all the trainee's in my many appointments over the years are just amazing ,clear , professional ,informative and give a thorough consultation to give you the optimum all round service/results 😊 .. i always feel at ease , not in and out putting in anything just for the pennies !!
Also reassuring to know they use the top end treatments/products so no cheap products going in 🙏🏻
My only slight negative is that the booking process could be delivered just a tad better " technology for you 😊"
( in nearly 3 years iv had 2 very minor issues! With booking ) but
I understand there communication service has just changed to address this and make the booking etc of the service better. 😊 🙏🏻 great place ,go you won't regret it!

Another month has passed and still no refund from v300 mentoring as they failed to fill in forms on time before the course started or have any form of communication . Extremely poor service. I am requesting formal complaint route as this is unacceptable. Do not choose them.

Absolutely awful customer service and…

Absolutely awful customer service and communication. I have had several treatments as a model which were fine. However, I travelled all the way from Edinburgh to Glasgow on a Sunday morning to an appointment that had been cancelled without anyone informing me. I had to chase this up and only received a brief email asking when I’d like to rebook!? No explanation or apology for wasting my time and money never mind offering a refund. I emailed back explaining all of this and that was 2 weeks ago now and I have had nothing. I think it’s safe to say that the ombudsman will be involved.
