flight experience and the call center mishandling

I recently flew on MEA Flight ME428 to Dubai on Dec 9, 2025, at 16:15. While I have had positive experiences with MEA in the past, this flight raised several serious concerns.
1. Turbulence and Lack of Communication:
The flight experienced significant turbulence, but the pilot, Karl Maawad, did not provide any information, reassurance, or acknowledgment during or after the flight. Passengers were left anxious, with no expression of thanks or reassurance about safety.
2. Cabin Crew Support:
The flight attendants appeared tense and did not check on passengers during the turbulence, leaving many, including myself, feeling unsupported and unsettled. This was a stark contrast to prior MEA flights where the crew maintained professionalism and comforted passengers.
3. Unprofessional Tone After Landing:
Upon landing, the pilot instructed passengers to remain seated in a firm, somewhat aggressive tone, without acknowledging the rough flight or thanking passengers for their patience. This was disappointing and unprofessional.
4. Call Center Handling:
After emailing MEA about the flight, I received a follow-up call from the call center. Unfortunately, the agent dismissed my concerns, compared the situation to routine operations, and ended the call abruptly. This left me frustrated and unheard, adding to the negative experience.
Conclusion:
While I understand flights can encounter difficult conditions, it is vital that both pilots and cabin crew communicate effectively and maintain professionalism. Additionally, MEA’s call center should handle passenger concerns with attention and respect. I hope MEA reviews these issues to ensure future passengers receive the high standard of service the airline is known for.

Bad website and poor call center service

My experience is not related with the flight where we never had an issue but with their website and their support. I had major problems on completing my check in because their website is not compatible with Mozilla Firefox. I send a message asking for help, with screenshot and everything. My message has been forwarded to several people within the company. 3 weeks later without any response. I send another email, 1 week later, still no response. I was lucky enough to figure out what the problem was but i spend time, i wasn't able to select any seats (their seat selection app is one of the things not working with Firefox) and i had to restart the check in process several time since their website was giving me errors.

Very Disappointed

Very Disappointed — Denied Boarding and Poor Customer Service
I booked a direct flight with Middle East Airlines, confirmed and paid in full. When I arrived at the airport, I was informed the flight was overbooked, and despite having a valid ticket, I was not allowed to board.
I asked several times if there was any way I could still get on the flight I had booked, but the staff simply said, “no, too late,” in a very unprofessional tone. They even kept me waiting around 20 minutes before giving a clear answer — wasting more of my time and leaving me stressed and uncertain.
Eventually, I was rebooked on an indirect flight that made my journey far longer and more exhausting. The whole experience was frustrating, poorly handled, and deeply disappointing.

Worst airline ever

Worst airline ever – a complete rip-off
Not once have I had a good experience with this airline. After avoiding them for 3 years, I decided to give them another chance, and once again I was badly disappointed.

The flight from Dubai to Beirut was scheduled for 12:45, yet the gates were still closed long after because the plane was “being cleaned and prepared.” This kind of delay and disorganization is typical with them.flight was supposed to arrive Beirut at 3:05 it’s now 2 pm and and we are still on ground !!

On top of that, their charges are nothing short of robbery. I had to change my ticket because I was sick, and they charged me $350 in penalty fees — an outrageous rip-off.

Every time, there’s a new issue:
• Rude and unhelpful staff
• Hostesses with no professionalism or customer service skills
• Hidden fees and unfair charges that drain passengers
• Disorganized operations that always leave people frustrated
I truly wish I had booked with Emirates, as I always did before and was never disappointed, they always deliver professionalism, service, and respect.

Honestly, a one-star rating is far too generous for this airline.

The best but expensive complains about high price…

Ok every complains about high price ticket yes it is very expensive but I like their pilots and the service is ok if you look at what Lebanon went through and how hard companies try to keep standing you will know they are doing their best .. yes it’s old model airlines but it’s Lebanon face to the world

They changed the flight time two and a half hours earlier without notice or a call, and we lost our flight.
After we lost the flight, we contacted them, and they said they sent an email, and their email was in our Junk mail. What an unprofessional airline! Most professional airlines send a notification within the app, unlike these people who send one email to your junk and assume you saw it. It ia a way to scam people…
They charged us penalties for not showing up and rescheduling. Worst Airline ever!!! Never Again!!!

Poor check-in experience.

Today, I flew with Middle East Airlines from London Heathrow (LHR) to Beirut (BEY), and unfortunately, my experience at check-in left me extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Upon arriving at the check-in counter, I handed over my British passport to the staff member, Mohammad Khan. My trip was only for 6 days, and as a British passport holder, I was well within my rights to travel without needing to provide any additional documentation. However, Mr. Khan insisted on asking for another nationality passport, which I legally did not need to present. His persistence and refusal to accept my valid travel documents were not only unnecessary but also deeply frustrating.

The situation escalated as he continued to press for documentation that was irrelevant to my travel. This left me feeling disrespected and unfairly treated. It’s concerning that a staff member would disregard standard procedures and create unnecessary stress for a passenger. I couldn’t help but feel that there might have been an underlying bias or prejudice in his behavior, which is completely unacceptable.

While the flight itself was fine, this negative interaction at check-in overshadowed the start of my journey. I left the counter feeling angry and disheartened by the lack of professionalism and courtesy displayed by Mr. Khan.

I hope Middle East Airlines takes this feedback seriously and ensures that their staff are properly trained to handle passengers with respect and in accordance with travel regulations. No one should have to endure such treatment, especially when they are following the rules.

Middle East

This airline is one of the worst airline I’ve ever dealt with. The customer service is awful, and the staff are incredibly rude. Even if you’re polite with them, they don’t treat you well. I wouldn’t recommend anyone do business with this airline

I came to the MEA office to confirm my…

I came to the MEA office to confirm my flight with my dog as things were full and I was having a hard time confirming him on my flight, Karen was the savior of the day, she managed to help confirm the flight at a time when things were looking almost impossible. I’m extremely grateful for her help and couldn’t recommend the MEA team in the London office more! Super helpful and professional! Thank you!

Scammers

Scammers , corrupted same as their government in Lebanon .

I was checking the prices just a day before ceasefire and it was saying £750 , and then after announcing the ceasefire has gone up to £1000 . Disgusting scum bug airlines and country , shame on you .

Best Airline !!!

Best Airline

I have used MEA over 50 times from CPH to BEY and there has never been any problem or issue. They always arrived on time, the staff at check in and crew onboard are always professional and friendly !

The price for a flight from CPH to BEY is the lowest compared to other airlines but the service is on top level !

The food is some of the best food you can get on a middle class airliner

The infotainment system onboard the flight is very good and have some of the newest cinema films!

I will continue to travel with MEA !

MEA has been incredibly supportive to…

MEA has been incredibly supportive to my family during this time that we can’t fly home and flexible with the ticket, they picked up the phone very quickly and they had no trouble changing our ticket and didn’t even charge us. Thank you MEA.

Scammers!

Scammers!! Stay away from this airline. The staff in the London office are not fit for purpose. Houssam, whatever his name is, is a sad excuse of a representative of this airline. Extremely rude person who just seems quite disappointed with his own life so makes it everyone else's problem. The prices are exorbitant and I've had food poisoning numerous times that I have been forced to fly with this airline due to their monopolistic behaviour. I yearn for better days when more competent airlines are authorised to fly direct from London Heathrow to Beirut, but until then, I'll choose to spend my money with companies that are far more deserving than this waste of space and their employees.
