Updated review 16/04/2026 - lab processed clotted sample

I had an issue with the fingerprick sample, where I had added further blood a short time after initial completion. A few hours later, before taking it to post, I noticed the sample had become clotted, and was moveable within liquid, rather than the solid state it turns to when combined with the anticoagulant. I called customer support and spoke with Millie, explaining that it doesn't look right and has clotted. I asked if I post this, would I forefit the chance for another test kit - I was instructed to post it, and told if not viable, I would have a retest free of charge. I would have preferred to not post it, and complete another better sample, but I followed their advice in good faith

My results indicated that my levels were significantly above physiological levels for female testosterone. This is at trough level i.e. 24 hours after previous gel application, and I am on a very low dose. As it happened, I had the previous results from a sample taken at peak level (3 hours post gel application) as incorrectly instructed by their AI support (see below review), and somehow my trough level results shows it to be significantly higher than the peak levels.

I emailed my concerns i.e. that I had already informed them the sample was clotted, but the lab processed it anyway. Their own website states that clotted samples cannot be tested.

The response deflects from the issue, and suggests other far less likely variables such as food, exercise, supplements etc, none of which were significantly different between tests. The primary difference in levels should be peak vs trough exogenous testosterone when natural baseline is low and at a certain age, I very much doubt other minor day to day variables such as the previous night's meal would account for the levels being so drastically different that it tipped the balace to a trough level being significantly higher than the peak level a couple of weeks prior, on same low dose

They also denied that it could have been clotted as the lab wouldn't have processed it, but I saw it with my own eyes and reported it. They should have just sent the second test kit as this is apparently a standard part of their service

They offered to do a discounted retest, which turned out to be 20%. I had also asked them could they expedite the postage from 48 to 24h, as due to multiple issues from them now, I was getting close to running out of the gel and needed to arrange it quickly in order to be prescribed further med. The response was "you can select this at checkout"

I may have accepted a 50% discount just to get it done, but I will cut my losses and now using a different service

I have used Medichecks twice for hormonal testing. Both times the test kits have arrived quickly, and I have found the fingerprick procedure relatively easy, with clear step by step instructions included. There is 24h tracked return postage already fixed to a secure return envelope, and once posted, the results have been available well within their stated timeframe. The results are easy to understand, and I appreciate the doctor’s supporting notes.

This last time, there was a miscommunication with the AI support regarding the timing of the blood draw for the test. Millie was very helpful in resolving the issue along with the clinical team, and I felt my concern was taken seriously. This meant I was subsequently able to redo the test in order to get the accurate result I needed, and I'm very grateful for their excellent customer care with this matter. I will be continuing to use Medichecks for ongoing interim monitoring

The summary from a medical expert is great, really useful. The indicator bar is perfevt, very clear and the explanation for each test and the guidance on high and low indicators is so easy to understand. I like that i can see the year on year comparisons for each test too, so clear to use and understand what the trend is.

I paid extra for the option of using this Company to source a nurse's home visit to take a blood sample from me.

If I hadn't kept chasing it's Customer Services Team to arrange an appointment it would have undoubtedly taken longer to have this exercise completed. If it had been able to source an appointment I may have then not had to wait until after the Bank Holiday for the appointment.

Comminucation regarding this was poor from Medicheck. Admittedly it's response was that they were having difficulties sourcing an appointment for me. Then why not communicate that to me instead of leaving me in the dark.

The staff at the Customer Services Team were always polite, professional and very eager to help...

The actual appointment went very well due to the Nurse's communication skills and pure professionalism on the appointment date booked.

I have used Medichecks multiple times now, and each time, they have been so efficient and had my results to me within 3 days. They have really helped me keep an eye on my condition, providing helpful insights from a dr. Brilliant service. Highly recommended, I have recommended to multiple friends and relatives already.

Fantastic service, quick response to my blood test

4 days later and still no letterbox postable pack delivered… how can it take more than 4 business days to deliver a postable ready made box?

Medichecks mislaid my order and didn't send the package out until I telephoned. Also it has been 16 days since Medichecks received my Thyroid Panel and B6 blood and I have still yet to receive the results! I would not recommend them and I will not be using them again.

I would have given a five star review if it wasn’t for the length of time it all takes. 2 weeks from ordering to getting the results which meant I had to reschedule the blood withdrawal. Other than that this service is well worth every penny and a must if you are on TRT. Keep up the amazing work guys.

Non-existent customer service, zero quality control, and their doctors can't tell the difference between male and female. Avoid.

Fast turnaround especially once it arrived at the lab. Only issue is that some background information questions were never presented to me and were flagged as unanswered (because I can't answer something I'm not asked). They weren't particularly important but they may be to some people
