We had our chimney swept and repaired with bird cage.
It was very well organised. and they were tidy and very professional.
we would highly recommend

The Job to clean the chimney only took 5 mins - 15 mins in total to set up and pack up. Yet the cost of £72 still applies. A rude receptionist who threatened court action as the payment was a few days after the job. You can get cheaper elsewhere, with a better customer service.

Fast, Friendly, professional, good value. Top Marks all round.

NB: My daughter changed my google username to fanashia, but that's another story!

James and Haydn were called out to clean our chimney and to save a pigeon which had sadly fallen down. They were truly professional and so kind. They successfully saved the pigeon too! True gentlemen and always a brilliant company to do business with. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Excellent service from a well established company. On this occasion we had our chimney swept.

I needed a chimney sweeping. Milborrow had an online advert, ( claiming royal patronage!)....& could attend swiftly..( we wanted a fire over Xmas!)
A man duly arrived....but very quickly told me my chimney flue was “ compromised”.... requiring complete renewal.
We spent Xmas without a fire, and received a quote for ( approx) £2000....feeling a little wary...( the story about having had a mystery chimney fire didn’t quite add up!).... we found another sweep....who turned up, swept the chimney without problem...inspected the flue, and declared it in perfect order!! ...all done in 1/2 hr , and charged £60!...
I would add that trying to leave a review on CHECKATRADE.... turned out to be futile!....somehow MILBORROW could not be found??!!
( all my claims can be verified....and after complaining to their management, was told their charge( £70) was fair, and they refused any refund. )
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid ....or check carefully....any work done by this company.
They are big!!....two sweeps I’ve since spoken to both confirm unpleasant experience of this company.
( ask ANY local tradesmen??)

Jim and Rex came to clean our chimney last week. They were both very knowledgeable and and efficient. Being fireplace novices, I asked a lot of questions and they very helpfully answered all of my questions. They were fast and efficient and the chimney was cleaned in no time. Milborrow was the first chimney sweep who answered my call (after trying a few others in the local area). They explained the process and booked me in. I'm glad I went with Milborrow and will definitely recommend them and use them in the future.

We have been using the services if Millborrow for about 20 years. Initially to open up, inspect and sweep a disused chimney. Then to sweep it as an open fire every year. Two years ago they supplied and fitted a multifuel burner into this same fireplace. The flue was lined, and a new hearth, surrounded and mantle were fitted. It is fabulous. Their advice and workmanship is second to none. The care and customer service provided is top notch. They are totally reliable, clean, prompt and trustworthy. I would (and do regularly) recommend them. Job well done.

This is the first time I’ve used Milborrow Chimney Sweeps and would thoroughly recommend them. Mark and Shaun arrived within the specified time fame and immediately got to work.
The flue was swept with no mess and the wood burner and the surrounding area were vacuumed clean.
Over the past year my wood burning stove had ‘walked’ by a centimeter or two on the glass hearth which, apparently, is not uncommon. It was carefully repositioned and the flue joints resealed. To reduce the risk of movement happening again the burner feet were very neatly siliconed to the glass hearth. A really professional job. Thanks guys.

The sweep phoned to ask if he could come early. He was very polite, clean and friendly. And he was quick. He also had good advice about lighting the fire to avoid smoke leaking into the room at the beginning. He did 2 chimneys and the price was as expected. It was great that they could fit us in at the last minute just before Christmas. I would recommend them.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have used them on three occasions, they dont sweep properly and when they quote for other work they low ball "rough estimates" then come out to quote but charge to quote. You are then faced with paying them to attempt to rip you off or agree to be ripped off. Small claims court is their preferred style of combat. I found this out when a true professional came to quote for a stove replacement. Avoid!

We won't be using this chimney sweep again. We used to have a great chimney sweep come out every year who would do a superb job, but unfortunately we were told he had left this year. The "sweep" that came we could here from around the corner with the music blaring out, not what you want first thing in the morning and we had to apologise to our neighbours. That was the first of many issues, he had thrown the rods up, not even asking us if we wanted to see the brush out the chimney pot, a tradition we enjoy every year. Then to be told 10 minutes after arrival that we had to pay more than the quoted £72, which is an absurd increase from previous years, all because our chimney "is bigger than average". He then went on to shake his dust sheet and empty his hoover on my driveway spreading soot everywhere. God only hopes they don't sweep the Queen's chimney to the same standard that we have received

I recently had Milborrow Chimney Sweeps come and sweep our chimney & clean out and check our stove, this was carried out very professionally in a clean and efficient way. I was asked to take a look when the brush was out of the chimney which was pleasing, the paperwork was completed and handed to me on completion and I paid via bank transfer the same day. have no concerns at all about recommending this company.

Our chimney was swept earlier this year (possibly Feb) and no protective sheets were placed on the surrounding furniture and I believe that as a direct consequence of this our antique sofa is marked/stained with a (fortunately small) dot of black soot that is quite obvious sadly on the pale yellow fabric. As an aside, the sweep also used our loo without asking and this was during lockdown. Would not recommend.

We decided to renovate our inglenook fireplace in our grade 2 listed home in Sussex, so contacted Milborrow after receiving poor advice from a number of building firms. Milborrow put us in touch with a contractor who immediately demonstrated extensive knowledge of period properties and gave us the information we needed to apply for Listed Buildings consent for the work. Once granted, we proceeded with what was, as expected, a complex project. The initial contractor carefully and sympathetically deconstructed the beehive in the fireplace and carried out the necessary work to make good the rear of the inglenook, which was impressive and involved some incredibly skilled brickwork. The next pair of guys installed the register plate and a twin-walled flue inside the chimney to avoid damaging the historic woodwork in chimney breast, and then installed the log burner provided by Croydon Fireplaces, and replaced the chimney pots which were loose. All aspects of the job were done with expertise, and where issues were found we were informed immediately. The result is incredible and our house has been transformed. All involved were highly skilled and passionate about doing a great job for us, and I have no doubt that the value now added to our property is far greater than the cost of the project. We can’t thank Milborrow enough.

We had a Gazco RIVA2 500 fitted in January by Milborrows and we are really pleased with the service and the fire itself.However,although we were advised that there would be cracking/shrinkage around the frame from the heat resistant filler it has cracked and fallen out more than was anticipated.
