Excellent service

My wood burner fitter was not replying to my messages and as I was unable to use it I called Milborrow to see if they could help.. from the telephone call and booking to the time that they left was an excellent service. Sam who swept chimney explained everything to me about using the wood burner (what the original company should have done) and aswell as being knowledgeable him and max were polite and tidy and wore ppe. Would highly recommend.

Poor job and even worse customer service

We've just finished a 10 month home renovation with dozens of different companies and trades involved - Milborrow Chimney Sweeps were the standout for poor quality work and poor customer service. It took them three visits to fit a new log burning stove, fireplace and flue, owing to poor quality work, with scuffing, staining and chipping along the way (there was one hearthstone they cracked completely and had to take away before fitting). They were also deeply unhelpful in advising us, and totally unwilling to take any responsibility for their mistakes. For instance, we asked them for the smallest hearth we were allowed, and we ended up with a concrete base that was 300mm longer than the hearthstone on top of it! When I queried this I was told that under regulations the hearthstone is allowed to be smaller than the concrete base, so that wasn't actually a mistake but what I had asked for when I requested the smallest heart we were allowed.
We are hoping to put in another log burner elsewhere, and will obviously need the one we've installed swept in future - and I will be steering well clear of milborrow chimney sweeps on both!
