Millets - Barnstaple Reviews 

Elliott and Mitch provided great advice when buying new walking boots and presented us with various options to try. They were very patient and managed to find us the best walking boots at a very good price. Highly recommend and thanks to both!

I used Millets in Barnstaple as I always find staff helpful and knowledgeable. I was served by Elliott, who has an in-depth knowledge of his products and their features. As a result I confidently bought some great hiking boots.

Penny and Elliot were very friendly and helpful. They helped me with a new rain jacket, a pair of walking shoes, and some sandels efficiently. When I told them I had some time in the MOD they kindly gave me a discount. I dropped a star because many sizes were unavailable.

Great customer service. Helpfull with product specification. Limited stock. What you see it what they have.

Elliott was excellent, my mum & I were looking for walking shoes & Elliott was friendly, helpful & very knowledgable. He recommended some great shoes, even though it was close to closing time we didn’t feel rushed or pressured. A fantastic shopping experience, we would recommend shopping in Millets based on this.

Visited the Barnstaple store as had to exchange a pair of walking shoes that had suffered some unexpected deterioration. Mitch & Rob the staff working on the day couldn’t have been more helpful or attentive to my needs for a replacement pair of shoes that would meet my requirements. All in all a great customer service experience which I’ve got used to from my local Millets. Will definitely be back soon.

Barnstaple Millets is a good little shop. The staff are very helpful without being too pushy. I knew which jacket I wanted and was able to try it on without being hassled. Jeremy was very friendly and efficient when processing the payment. Highly recommend this store.

Elliott & Rob at the Barnstaple store were very helpful in my purchase of walking boots. Elliott took time to explain those which affered a wide fit and arch support which were exactly what I wanted. He also gave me great advice on looking after them. Both a credit to the store where I would shop again.

Shopping at Millets Barnstaple today has to be an all time low in customer service.I was ignored by both male staff members on entering the store and they just stood there like two night club bouncers not interacting with the dynamic of how a shop should be.When I had decided on what to buy[ a pair of walking boots] i went to the counter and put the boot i wanted on the counter.Now in my experience most staff would come around to the front of the counter and serve you properly.Not in this case.A staff member was aware i needed serving[well both did] and he just stood looking at me which i could not believe and said nothing.The two staff members were aware i had put my intended item on the counter but did nothing like you would expect in a shop dynamic.After a long pause he then asked did i want to buy the item i had put on the counter.I said increduosly that wasnt it obvious thats what normally happens in a transaction in a shop.Customers choose items in a store,take them to the counter,money is taken and thats the end.Not in Millets Barnstaple apparently.The whole experience was dire from start to finish and the staff there i really do not know how they got their the jobs as they do not have a clue how to be good sales people for a top High Street brand.Absolutely abysmal service.

We stopped by the store to take advantage of the end of summer sale, and buy some gear for an upcoming family camping trip. Mitch and the other staff were invaluable in making sure we got the right kit - they were a great source of advice, and advised us on all the pros and cons of what we were interested in.

They made sure we were happy with our purchase and got what we needed. Thanks so much!

Recently visited the shop with a list of things to buy for my son we were served by Elliott who was the most helpful shop assistant I’ve come across in a long time

Served by Elliot, he explained the differences in each walking shoe that i was interested in. Very pleased with my eventual purchase. The shop was very busy but never felt like you were being forgotten about.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The sandals I wanted weren’t in stock. The manager ‘Rob’ told me they were expecting some in the delivery the following day. He very kindly called me to say they had arrived and held them for me till I could collect and pay the following day. Wonderful service

Great customer service and Elliott was very knowledgeable about the products I was interested in buying. Answered all my questions and made me feel confident in the boots I bought.

Came in looking for a headtorch and a little equipment for a trip away. Served by a gentlemen whose name i think was Elliot- gave me some good advice. Very friendly- will come again.
