The MAB are great at first
The MAB are great at first, giving you hope about being able to get on the property ladder. They gave me a mortgage certificate for over 400k and promised to 'be there every step of the way'. Except right at the end, where it came time to secure the mortgage product, they unceremoniously dropped me, without any explanation other than that they now couldn't secure the loan. Absolutely disgusting. I almost lost my house because of it
Absolutely fantastic company
Absolutely fantastic company. Helpful, friendly, responsive. Continually strive to get you the best deal. Nothing is too much. Dealt with Luke and Katie. Both equally helpful. Send an email with a question and response back in usually under an hour. No chasing up replies. Will always use MAB
Becki 👌🏼
Have to give a massive shout to Becki who was amazing throughout our entire house buying process. We had lots of delays with our buyers solicitors and she was tenacious with great communication and showed a genuine interest in getting us our new home.
Amar at Leeds is more than an advisor
I used Amar at Leeds he is great!! As a first-time buyer he was patient and explained all the differnt products everything was understandable. I had a complicated health background he made me feel a eais he took the time to search specialist products to suit my needs. He is always available and responsive. He builds a relationship with you so you can continue to work with him in the future he doesn't sell you a one off product. I would always recommend him.

From first securing my mortgage 6 years ago I have always felt 100% confident with this company and with my advisor Scott. Buying a house on my own made me very nervous but I always felt well guided and safe! It's always a pleasure to speak to him when my mortgage is up for renewal and he's always so cheerful - I trust him implicitly!
Darren Kiernan went above and beyond
Darren Kiernan went above and beyond to help us secure our mortgage as first time buyers at the start of 2024.
During what can be a really stressful time, Darren was quick to reassure us and put us at ease. He stayed in frequent contact during the entire application process and sped up our approval by speaking on our behalf to our provider.
Buying our house wouldn't have been such a smooth experience if it weren't for Darren, who is clearly passionate about what he does and excellent at customer support. We're very grateful!

Outstanding Service from Mark at Mortgage Advice Bureau!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share our brilliant experience working with Mark from the Mortgage Advice Bureau. From the very first conversation, it was clear we were in the hands of a true professional. Mark went above and beyond to help us find the perfect mortgage deal, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
We were initially feeling overwhelmed by the number of mortgage options and the complexity of the process, but Mark made everything so simple and stress-free. He took the time to understand our financial situation, our goals, and what we were hoping to achieve. His expert knowledge and clear explanations gave us complete confidence at every stage.
Mark was incredibly thorough, ensuring we were informed of all our options, explaining the pros and cons of each in plain English. He answered every question with patience and detail, no matter how small or basic it seemed. His approach was not only professional but also very personal – it never felt like we were “just another client.”
Thanks to Mark’s hard work and dedication, we secured an excellent mortgage deal that suited our needs perfectly. He made what could have been a daunting experience feel straightforward maybe even too easy!
We honestly can’t thank Mark enough. If you’re looking for mortgage advice that’s tailored, honest, and expertly delivered, we couldn’t recommend him more highly. Mark is a credit to the Mortgage Advice Bureau, and we will absolutely be returning to him for any future needs – as well as recommending him to friends and family without hesitation.
Thank you again, Mark – you made all the difference.
Vicky Alexander and Dominic Challinor
Working with Vicky Alexander as our mortgage advisor was an excellent experience. She made the whole process easy and straightforward from start to finish. Vicky really understands the importance of work-life balance and was very considerate about when to contact us, making sure not to disturb us unnecessarily.
Dominic Challinor was also extremely polite and helpful throughout. Whenever we had any inquiries, both Vicky and Dominic responded to emails very quickly and clearly. They always took the time to ensure we fully understood every step of the process.
We are very grateful for their professionalism and support. Thank you!
Terrible Experience with Mortgage Advice Bureau
I had a dreadful experience with Mortgage Advice Bureau, particularly with their advisor Jonathan, who cost me £100 for absolutely nothing. From the start, his advice was poor and unhelpful, leaving me worse off than if I’d handled things myself.
Instead of providing proper support, Jonathan preferred to argue with me over text messages rather than picking up the phone, even when I explicitly asked him to call me back. His communication was unprofessional, and he seemed more interested in defending his mistakes than actually helping me.
To make matters worse, he kept unnecessarily checking my credit report, which ended up damaging my credit score. After wasting time and money, I eventually sorted out my mortgage on my own—something I should have done from the beginning.
An expensive lesson learned—I will **never** use Mortgage Advice Bureau again, and I strongly advise others to steer clear, especially if dealing with Jonathan. Save yourself the hassle and find a more competent, professional advisor elsewhere.
**Zero stars – appalling service!**
Great service
Neil supported myself and my partner through our first mortgage application. Neil was thorough and made the process so easy for us. Neil was very knowledgeable and knew where we could get the best deals. When there were bumps in the road, Neil was reassuring and proactive; ensuring that we were never left unsure of the status of our case. Thank you, Neil!

We had a great experience with the Mortgage Advice Bureau. Leah was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable. Always quick responses and very helpful. When on annual leave Anna and Morgan were quick to respond and extremely helpful. Can't recommend enough.
SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS – AVOID NEELAM AT MORTGAGE ADVICE BUREAU LIKE THE PLAGUE
This company is a complete scam operation hiding behind a professional front. Neelam and the team will tell you everything you want to hear – “we’ve got hundreds of lenders,” “bad credit? No problem,” “we’ve got specialist options.” It’s all a scripted sales pitch to get one thing: your £300 application fee.
Yes, £300 just to submit your application to ONE lender. Not for securing a mortgage. Not for a full service. Just for clicking submit. And here’s the catch – if that one lender declines you, you’re done. They don’t try again. They don’t help. They don’t care. Why? Because they’ve already got your money.
It’s a scam tactic – they get paid whether you succeed or not, and they know most people won’t fight back. Well, I am. I’m getting a chargeback from my bank because I refuse to hand over £300 for NOTHING.
Real mortgage brokers only get paid when your mortgage completes. These people take the money upfront and leave you stranded. It’s beyond unethical – it’s theft with a smile.
Avoid Neelam. Avoid Mortgage Advice Bureau. Save your time, your money, and your sanity. Go to Mortgage Store or literally anyone else who isn’t robbing people under the guise of “advice.”

Nick Ellis was fantastic
Nick Ellis was fantastic, as a first time buyer I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, but he took the time on every call to fully explain and break things down for me. He responded promptly to all of my emails, covering every point, and was there every step of the way ! Would 100% recommend him, and would consider him an asset to the business
Excellent service from Laura
I have used Laura as my mortgage broker for years, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. I’ve built up a good relationship with her and I trust her to handle my mortgage/re-mortgage applications brilliantly.
Leighton and Karen have been amazing
Leighton Trodd and Karen Reilly have been a huge help for two house purchases in the past few years.
Our most recent house purchase they have been invaluable in helping liaise with solicitors and vendors. Secured a good rate on the mortgage and have gone above and beyond to help.
Laura in the Leigh Branch
Laura in the Leigh Branch made things simple for us, with being highly efficient, helpful and kept continuous contact of all things happening behind the scenes and keeping us in the loop. Thus making the process a lot less stressful on me and my partner as we go along with the process.
Complete disaster
I don't know how these guys get so many 5 stars. Louis Moore caused me the most stress for 2 days. He didn't understand basic finance and didn't understand the Homes England rules for shared ownership applications. Claimed there was no appeals procedure and he had no manager. Raised a complaint with their Head Office - that soon had them jumping around and things got done. Still didn't get an apology for being so wrong. Maybe he just took a personal dislike to me ! Just remember these guys are just mortgage salesmen - thats all.
Highly recommend MAB
I can’t recommend MAB - Southampton highly enough! As a first-time buyer, I was unfamiliar with the mortgage and conveyancing process, but they made everything smooth and stress-free. They secured me the best rates available and continued to monitor the market throughout the process to ensure I got the most competitive deal. Their guidance on the conveyancing process was invaluable, helping me navigate each step with confidence. They also went above and beyond in chasing solicitors to keep things moving efficiently. Exceptional service from start to finish—thank you!
Terrible Customer Service
I have had a mortgage for 2.5 years from these people who were suggested to me by house builders.
They do not know what they are doing and do not act with customers interests at heart.
The initial process was long, invasive and stressful. It took forever to get everything organised.
We agreed a fixed 3 year period and paid an additional fee for the term.
Fast forward 2.5 years and the term is only for 2.5 years. I have pointed this out and complained. I have had Joe and Lisa explain this away as if it's nothing saying this must be because the term started from the offer letter and not from when mortgage started?? The offer letter was only a couple weeks prior, so the explanation doesn't stack up. Furthermore none of this was explained at the time as I would have asked for it to have been aligned with the mortgage start date, not 6 months before we've moved in...obviously a mistake.
No apology, no sorry for the inconvenience just trying to brush it under the carpet as if it's nothing and move on.
Personally I prefer dealing with a company who is transparent and puts client first
