Our skills and equipment allow us to offer a wide range of services from fleet maintenance to major repairs or servicing - all at highly competitive pricing. Our philosophy is only to do the agreed work and seek customer approval before any additional work is undertaken. What we seek above all else, is to offer our customers a superior quality of service. We aim to get the vehicle fixed quicker than a main dealer and will always go that extra mile for the customer. We are members of the RMI, Motor Codes, Trust my Garage, and apart from our youngsters going through training, we only employ fully qualified technicians, many with ATA diagnostic certification.

MOT at MOTEST ALDERSHOT BRANCH

Wanted to write something about my recent MOT at MOTEST ALDERSHOT. I previously regularly visited the Aldershot branch where my car was then well looked after by your tester technician E Grayson, however I have not visited for 5 years due to ill health.
My car is a 2004 BMW E46 M3. Your technician A Taylor was very respectful to my vehicle, so many times I’ve dropped my car off at companies for work fearing it would be ragged or would have the nuts revved off of it in the car park just to hear its exhaust noise. I have witnessed this done on numerous occasions, However none of this here! He just very professionally got in it and got on with his job. It was a nice touch allowing the public to view the whole mot process on a widescreen tv monitor whilst sat in reception! I noticed whilst watching that he even realigned my drivers side headlamp beam free of charge when I had forgotten to ask them to do it as I knew it was a little high. I was made to feel welcome and both staff members I spoke with were very nice to deal with. I will be back regularly again.

This company over charges put my car in…

This company over charges put my car in for a minor repair it took less than a hour but was charged for a hour and half when asked how they charged this amount got totally blanked by the company won't be using motest again my advice avoid using them full stop

The customer and ourselves corresponded last week and while we understand his view on being charged 1.5 hours when we completed the work in 1 hour, the charge is legitimate. We are sorry that our response did not meet his satisfaction, but we tried to explain as follows.
Most garages charge based on estimated or book times allowed for each repair. We had 2 technicians working on this job covering 2 distinct repairs - first to replace the inner CV boot (1hr) and second the removal of an HID lamp kit and subsequent bulb replacement (30 mins) to enable us to issue an MOT pass.
The car arrived at 12.45pm and the job was started at around 12 50 pm
The CV joint replacement was carried out by the manager, estimated at 1 hour which is correct for this job based on the book time and allowing for the need to thoroughly clean the joint which we had to do because of dirt ingress through the split and they can be difficult to get out due to seizing in the hub or damage to the inner joint circlip. The HID headlamp kit removal was carried out by one of our techs and booked out at 30minutes. The removal of non standard accessories must be done with care to ensure the wiring is not compromised or damaged.
The manager (who tested the car) checked the lighting, parked the car up around 13.50 and then issued a pass certificate.
We therefore stand by the work and the charge of 1.5 hours labour as per our estimate. Our policy is to hide nothing and break out the cost of labour and parts separately. Many garages do not do this and charge a lump sum, making it difficult for customers to understand what is what.
Our Bexhill branch has a great reputation and we do not 'rip off' or 'blank' customers and was surprised to get a complaint after we got the car fixed and handed back with paperwork completed in 75 minutes.

Reading branch - Major service and MOT

Major service and MOT was booked into the Reading branch with new brake pads etc the final cost was £555.
On collection of the car the car clearly wasn’t cleaned internally and externally although the service report sheet was ticked to say it had been.
This led me to further interrogate the report.
The report stated that all five tyres were of a single brand which they aren’t and that the front tread was more worn than the rear.
Given the front tyres are brand new and having only done 10 miles max since purchase this was fictitious on the report it made me question how many other items have been carried out and what level of care and attention was undertaken.
I spoke to the garage and they said they would take another look at the car.
The car has been in for a full second day and tyre details have been updated on a new service form and all other parts remain the same.
On collection I was informed that currently no internal clean due to COVID, I wasn’t made aware of this before the service started or after I returned it to the garage only on collection the second time. I do find this a little strange as for the garage to carry out the service people have been in the car and from dashcam footage the car has been driven around the block and feel this could have been carried out in a safe manner it was more a case that the garage didn’t want to do it.
I would point that they fitted a cardboard air freshener for me in the car, unfortunately the person who fitted would have done well to wash the oil off their hands before fitting.
The external wash resembled someone pouring a single watering can over it and left a lot to be desired.
Given this garage was used by us previously on recommendation by others I think it is highly unlikely I use them again.

Avoid if you want a working car

Had my MOT done at the Reading branch. They damaged the engine on my VW Golf so badly that they ripped a hole in the sump and refused to continue the MOT. Said it must have been damaged elsewhere despite no oil on the ground where it had been parked. Car no longer starts when hot and requires continuous cranking to get going. Car was fine before it went in. They refused to accept liability and the car was eventually scrapped. Complete Cowboys. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent service at Epsom branch

This was the first time I have used MOTEST & I cannot fault the branch in Epsom. I booked an MOT & Service online & received a text reminder. I got a phone call to say that my car had passed it's MOT with advisory for 2 new front tyres (not a surprise as it was flagged up last year). They ordered new tyres to be delivered the next day. As a female with limited car knowledge I don't usually like visiting garages, but was pleasantly surprised how friendly the staff at Epsom were. Will be booking next year for MOT & Service.

Excellent POLITE service

Excellent POLITE service. I only had to wait one hour for test to be completed (unlike some nameless companies local to Hemel hempstead, who keep you waiting over 3 hours, and are less than polite). I have used them for many years and have always been pleased with the service. I wholeheartedly recommend the Hemel Hempstead branch.

Closed branch and no communication to cancel MOT

I have used Just Motor Care / MOTEST for 7 years and have been extremely happy with the service up until yesterday.

Booked an MOT in March to be carried out at MOTEST FAVERSHAM, Yesterday was its MOT appointment , took the morning off of work, drove down there and was greeted to IT BEEN CLOSED. I had NOT be phoned or received an email to say that it was closed or to even cancel the MOT appointment.

THE MAIN MOTEST WEBSITE STATES THAT IT IS OPEN AND NOT CLOSED. So wasted my time, fuel and I still have to get an MOT carried out.

THANKS MOTEST FOR THAT BRILLIANT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!

To top it all off this morning I get a feedback email from them to fill out for the MOT that was carried out yesterday.

GET A GRIP MOTEST AND WORK OUT WHATS GONE WRONG A SIMPLE PHONE CALL OR EMAIL WOULD HAVE BEEN ENOUGH NOT TO WASTE MY TIME.

Well worth using

Having my car serviced and MOT’d

dropped in the car for the yearly 30…

dropped in the car for the yearly 30 mins of torture will it wont it fail/pass , and got the usual honest mot, needs a new tyre in the next few months and the headlights will need to be done long before next year , but its passed , always made feel welcome and the staff are great

Motest Reading

They always keep the car for the whole day, no matter what time you take it in and regardless of the suggested completion times on their web site.

For the second year in a row I asked for a small missing part on the car to be replaced, and they didn't do it. The guy in reception made it clear he didn't give a toss. I'll now have to get it from the Ford garage again, and I guess next year I'll get Ford to do the service and MOT as well.

No complaints about the Bracknell branch

Never had a problem at the Bracknell branch. Their prices seem reasonable, and I’ve never felt like I’ve been taken for a ride.

They have MOT’d my car quickly at the last minute when I lost track of it.

They have also manage to diagnose and fix an issue the afternoon prior to me needing to take the car with us on holiday the next day - one of the blokes even worked a bit past closing time if I remember correctly to make sure it was fixed and tested ready for the holiday!

Motest Hemel are the best.

Put my car in at Motest Hemel today for the 3rd time. Brilliant service so fast and always on time. Lovely bunch of guys. Even gave my Husky a bowl of water cause it was hot. I would totally recommend them to all my friends and family. Great job guys thank you very much. Suse

Just moved to the area and called up…

Just moved to the area and called up MOTEST (Farnham) I was offered a slot the next day. This was after I was invited by another company to turn up and when I did they said it would 3 to 4 hours. They conducted the MOT and it failed. They rectified the problem. All done in just over an hour. Very courteous receptionist and the mechanics (the ones I came across).
I will be happy to take mine and my wife's car there next year.
