AVOID Chelmsford Branch

AVOID. Bought a car 2 years ago and had nothing but problems disguised with lies and lack of information. My experience had started with the car dealer attempting to hand me the card reader with an extra £1000 on top of the agreed price. I called this out and he tried to tell me this was the agreed price but I protested. He then went and ‘checked’ and come back to tell me I was correct. Already off to a dodgy start.

After leaving, within 10 mins the tyre pressure warning went off. Stopped off at a service station and worked out which tyre was having problems and refilled this (thought it was just lacking air). After continuing home this tyre warning went off again. At this point I knew there must have been a problem and called County Motor Parks straight away. They told me that the cover I had paid for doesn’t include tyres and there’s nothing they can do. You’ve sold me a car with a puncture and there’s nothing you can do? I then had to take this to a garage who found a nail in my tyre and I had to pay for a repair.

I then took my car for a service. I was told I needed new coil springs, which County Motor Parks had told me had been replaced as I’d picked this up on the MOT history. It was not picked up on the MOT done a couple months prior to me purchasing the vehicle so assume this was a bodged MOT! Either way they had lied to me, whether they knew or not do not inform people things you don’t know.

Fast forward a few months, I had mould all over my back seats and have been tackling dampness and an awful smell of mildew. The seal around my right door had been found to have completely peeled off. Under this is dry superglue where this had been stuck on poorly after clearly peeling. There were no clips on the seals, which I wouldn’t have noticed when buying the car but the residue of superglue is clear this was a quick fix up of a detached seal. The leak persisted and it’s now come to light that this vehicle had actually been in accident before I bought it. The left door has been spray painted over and there’s rust over the paintwork which has grown more and more overtime from this damage. I’ve now been informed that during this said accident before the vehicle was sold to me, that the back window is likely to have come out and has been glued back on which has allowed an access for water.

Very dishonest dealership just out for money. Go elsewhere.

My Experience with Motor Parks…

My Experience with Motor Parks Chelmsford is a horrible one. I bought a Vauxhall Crossland in November 2024, and barely two weeks after that, the service lights popped up. I called them on the phone and was reassured that there was no issue, that they probably did not switch off a light during the service. I also got sold a warranty for life on the car and also subscribed to the service plan as i was told that they could service the car in Swindon by using Jagua, which they wrote on my form for me. When the car developed a fault, the warranty for life turned out to be a scam as they refused to bear any cost, even for the diagnostic test, as I took the car to the Vauxhall in Swindon. The wet belt was picked up as being faulty. i eventually had to take the car back to Motor parks Chelmsford with the diagnostic faults picked up by vauxhall, and they then gave me a complimentary car to use for about 2 weeks , while they were fixing the car. The car is barely 10 months old, and the only travel I have used the car for is when I had to go to Chelmsford. I have taken the car back to Vauxhall and discovered that the wet belt was never changed and is still a major issue with the car. I have had to use my funds to repair the car and I want the servicing contract terminated with Motor Parks Chelmsford and my funds reversed. Going to Motor Parks Chelmsford was one of my worst decisions ever.

My experience after another dreadful dealership

This is a slightly delayed review from a couple of weeks ago, but I really wanted to share my experience. I recently purchased a used Tesla from the Preston branch, and from start to finish the service has been fantastic.

Mark (the manager) came out straight away to see if we needed any help and has been brilliant throughout the whole process. From placing the order to collecting the car, he made everything smooth and stress-free.

When the car arrived, I noticed a couple of very minor issues. Without hesitation, Mark arranged for the car to be collected. True to his word, a couple of weeks later someone drove all the way to Birmingham to pick up my car, provided me with a courtesy vehicle, carried out all the agreed work (and even went above and beyond by fixing more than I’d mentioned), and returned my car fully charged.

Honestly, the level of care and attention has been outstanding. Having previously dealt with another dealership that gave us a terrible after-sales experience, this has been a complete breath of fresh air.

Only one issue they could not fix but the warning light no longer appears, but did say if it comes back they will sort it

A special thank you to Mark, Karina, and the whole team — from Admin through to Sales — for being so friendly, helpful, and professional. They’ve gone above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to come back in the future to buy another car.

Three months of stress, broken promises, and still unresolved

I bought my car from Canterbury Motorparks in May 2025. On the way home I noticed vibrations and that the manual gearbox didn’t operate smoothly. I contacted Motorparks immediately and was booked for a service appointment. They said the vibration was due to two damaged alloy wheels that needed refurbishing or replacing.

While waiting, I was told someone would speak to me about the gearbox – but instead they simply brought my car to the front and said it was “all done” for the day, promising they’d collect it later with a courtesy car. That never happened.

From there, it became three months of constant chasing:

Multiple promised collection dates where no one arrived and no one called.

Being told staff were “in meetings” and would call back – they didn’t.

Complaints submitted through their site went unanswered until I chased again.

After finally reaching the GM, they admitted they’d been sending my complaint to the wrong email for over a week.

Promises of new wheels never happened.

In the end, I was told to take the car myself to a Kia dealership (not connected to them) for diagnostics, with Motorparks only offering to cover the diagnostic fee if there’s a charge. I actually don’t mind Kia doing it – they have the right tools – but the fact that Motorparks have already said there will be no compensation for all the wasted time, stress, and inconvenience is, in my view, unacceptable.

The case is still ongoing and I’m now escalating it to the Motor Ombudsman.

Buying a car should be exciting – instead this has been months of hassle and stress. They were friendly at the sale, but once you leave, you are on your own.

I wouldn’t recommend Warrington Motors…

I wouldn’t recommend Warrington Motors to anyone based on my experience over the past year. I’ve returned multiple times for the same unresolved issue, each time being promised a fix, only to face the same problems again within weeks.

Most recently, I brought my car in after finally being told a part was available. An hour later, I received a call saying they couldn’t remove the tyre due to a missing wheel nut—something I’ve never had and which has never stopped them from taking the tyre off in the past.

Instead of offering help or a solution, the staff passed blame onto me and made no effort to take responsibility or care about the inconvenience they’ve caused. I was left with no work done and had to collect my car yet again, without resolution.

The service manager was especially dismissive, showed no empathy, and offered no meaningful assistance. Complaints go nowhere—it’s just delay after delay, and a complete lack of accountability.

After over a year of poor service, wasted time, and repeated empty assurances, I’ve had enough. Very disappointed with how Warrington Motors treats its customers.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LOT...

A warning to anyone considering buying a cam from this company....

I bought a car a month ago from the preston branch, 2 days later developed a transmission fault which I captured on dashcam, phoned, emailed for a few days no response, threatened to reject the car and a manager cane back to me straight away, in fairness he was decent with that side of it all.... anyway car was collected taken back to Preston to fault find, day 1, 86mph recorded, day 2, 89 mph recorded, this morning 99mph and to top it off the car had been used without permission from me to commute to and from work in North Wales!! So a warning ⚠️ DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE LOT!!! They have no respect for customers vehicles at all and will willingly put other road users at risk with your car.

Car has been rejected in full.

Outraged with Motorparks…

Motorparks Preston, it has taken over a month to get a refund paid back into my bank account
With staff and managers saying it would be repaid in 7/10 days
In which this was never adhered to, and I was told this on 3 occasions, utter lies, as well as them telling me that they would telephone and email me, this did not happen.
They also gave me a car cleaning pack and said it was worth £299:00, utter lies it cost no more than £60:00, I know because I looked it up on the website, it was on the box,
So to sum it up I would definitely
Not purchase from this company ever again.
Be aware people this company do not honour their word at all Infact avoid buying vehicles from them altogether…. Be warned…

Purchased a Kia Sportage

Purchased a Kia Sportage, Mechanically the car was OK,
Handover was done at 18.00 so it was going dark. Sales lady handed me the keys then disappeared.

The following day we noticed a scratch over the offside wing, and the chrome on the front grill was tarnished.
I arranged to take the car back for the work to be done.
I spoke to Mark about the work the car was taken on a Tuesday and we arranged to collect the car the next day. I went straight from work the car hadn't moved.

Mark Tarry denied saying he'd do the wing infact he denied ever discussing it. The car had to go in again to have the wing done.

Which i had to wait at the showroom for it to be done.

This was done eventually with a limited amount of compensation paid.

My £250 deposit was returned after four weeks. Only after several emails of complaints.

Stay clear of Motorparks Preston

Motorparks Preston were extremely unprofessional and incompetent. Promised that the car had full service history and then after days of chasing them, it became clear that the service history did not exist. When valuing my car for a part exchange, they managed to bend my key but denied that. Management were rude and customer care is non existent. They promised the world but never followed through, constantly saying they’d call back and didn’t once. Zahida was a nightmare to work with and would not recommend to anyone.

Good experience

Karina and Zahida at Motorparks Preston were both very patient and helpful and Mark too on the one occasion we spoke on the phone. Karina was great. She posted us the 2nd key within days as she promised and dealt with some errors in the paperwork professionally and efficiently. I’ve seen the bad reviews but we had a really good experience and our car has been great so far. Thankyou Motorparks Preston.

Poor service, unwilling to commit to a PX price.

I thought I would write this review for Motorparks Warrington after a recent experience of trying to buy a vehicle and get them to commit to a price on my car.

I initially enquired about a Polestar 2 that was advertised, I was sent a generic video showing the car. I was initially sent a very low PX value on my car and a finance price with all of the extra services added.

I sent pictures of my immaculate car so they could give a more accurate price, and also asked for a finance price without all the unnecessary extras added, I would never pay a dealer for lifeshine type treatment!

Since then no response to any emails, not updated price or PX value. Very poor service, when I was ready to buy the car for the right price.

Motorparks Warrington

Motorparks Warrington
Unfortunately, my experience is not to the standard I would have expected. Unhelpful staff and unrealiable services. The MOT in 2024 was sublet (which I was not advised of) and it was missed that one of my tyres was fitted incorrectly. For this year's MOT (2025), it was picked up and corrected as it would otherwise fail the MOT, however when challenged why this happened (not being picked up last year), it took few people to go through weeks after the service, and just to be told that in 2024 it was sublet and MOT is all about personal observations so checking the way the tyre was fitted is not something on a "list" to check. Very disappointing as I have 3 children in the car daily and I understand the risks of having a tyre incorrectly fit. I then requested a copy of my signed service plan as I misplaced my copy, and again had to wait for weeks to be told I need to call a different number which makes me wonder about my data security as again I was not advised that "EMAC" will be holding all of my paperwork. I will ensure to post my review on as many informative sites as possible so people know to avoid or be very cautious about this dealership/service.

Nice before you buy, then refuse to cover issues found within days of purchase.

Good customer service... until they get your money.

Prior to buying I asked them to double check the suspension for known issues with the model. They said they had checked and there were no issues.

Within days of collection, I had a number of issues, including concerns about the suspension. At first they said 'we have a pre sale report saying it was fine', I eventually got them to admit that something wasn't right due to strange feedback and noise when turning to extremes eg to parallel park. They advised me to take the car to Tesla and we'd 'take it from there'.

The diagnostics were done and Tesla said a number of parts needed replacement - including 4 parts on the suspension, on the day the management said they would cover the work, but then later reneged, refusing to pay either for the diagnostics or the parts which needed to be replaced.

They did cover some other parts, but because of the hassle getting their help I'd been asking for a refund for the 1 year warranty since before the warranty company (also owned by CMP) even had the paperwork, when I got the refund they'd taken £100 off.

Because of all the above, I'm going to making a formal claim against the company, including for the suspension diagnostics and parts and the remainder of the warranty.

I guess in summary, just trust the other reviews and steer clear. Peace of mind is worth so much more.

Awful state of repair, terrible customer service, worse sales manager

I was sold a used car in an awful state by the Northampton branch. Despite being assured during purchase the mechanics and sales team had high attention to detail.

Vehicle came with a snapped rear wash pipe, broken bonnet holder clip, broken light and a crunching noise whenever car was on an uneven surface.

Took to two garages who said work needed doing. Took back to dealership, instead of fixing the issue they tightened/replaced a bolt. Anand described the noise as a 'little noise' despite it being glaringly obvious to any occupant. Noise continued when driving it home.

Decided to return the, initially refused until I cited the Consumer Rights act and revealed I had seen the MOT documents which showed the exhaust was corroded before I purchased the car. Anand offered to replace the exhaust as a 'gesture' (it's a right).

Generally I felt patronised by people saying 'we want every customer to feel valued' whilst telling me to ignore my own eyes and ears.

I was upsold a service plan and warranty4life, and still the dealership chose to ignore my concerns and fob me off.

On returning the car Anand tried to prevaricate a further week, by saying his compliance officer wasn't in until then. This would have taken me over the month's warranty period and allowed him to deduct money for usage. His apology for wasting hours of my time, keeping us waiting and selling me a car which was sub-standard was 'Sorry, but these things happen'.

Having seen the swiftness with which the car was re-listed, I can't imagine they did the work the car needs.
