Fast and efficient service from start to finish with prompt payment on accepting the offer. Very honest too...the payment received was higher than initially expected due to including the camera case at the last minute. Overall, very pleased and would highly recommend. Thank you

Excellent company for used equipment…

Excellent company for used equipment with all items described and photographed accordingly. Excellent and competitive pricing. Items are shipped very well protected and double boxed. I have purchased lenses and camera bodies with no issues. I am very happy and satisfied with all my MPB experiences. Customer service is quick to reply and courteous. Highly recommend MPB for buying used equipment.

Very disappointing experience with MPB…

Very disappointing experience with MPB after spending thousands of pounds with them over multiple purchases.

I recently sent in camera gear for trade-in valued at around £800–£1,000. During the assessment process, MPB appear to have mixed up my Sigma lens with a Canon kit lens that actually has the autofocus fault. As a result, my Sigma lens, originally purchased from MPB in December 2025 for around £379, was heavily devalued to £132 due to an alleged autofocus issue which I do not believe it has.

What made the situation more frustrating was the handling of the issue once raised. Communication was poor, responses felt dismissive, and there seemed to be little willingness from the agent to properly investigate despite MPB already having the equipment in their possession. I was also told that a warranty return could not be processed while they held the item, and that it would need to be sent back to me first so I could then return it again separately, which seems unnecessarily inefficient.

Mistakes can happen, but the lack of practical problem-solving and customer support has really damaged my confidence in using MPB again.

Great service and products

Several items purchased in separate transactions - all arrived promptly and in condition described. I've had one warranty need three months after purchase, and their six month warranty was quick and easy (evaluated for repair, then refunded).

DO NOT RISK IT

These companies are always great until something goes wrong. Sadly zero stars not available.
I sent two items to them in the same parcel. One mysteriously disappeared enroute and they claimed there was no evidence it was ever there so won't pay up.
Parcel NOT INSURED (despite their claims) UNLESS you can PROVE its contents. (They don't mention that in any of their advertising or emails.) You might want to consider how you could ever prove that something was in a sealed parcel! If I was trying to scam them I'd video myself packing the parcel and then remove an item before sending!!
Reported as a theft to the police. The result of their "review" was basically "tough" and they say DPD wouldn't even investigate because there was no evidence it was in the parcel!
DO NOT RISK IT! I'm hoping they lose a lot of potential customers who read this and go to their local camera shop to trade-in or use other online services.

And "sharing" the results of a so-called "review" in which your courier refuses to take part doesn't help me one jot! I note you don't dispute any of the issues I raised.

I rarely leave negative reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience with MPB has been extremely disappointing.

I sent my Nikon 200-500mm lens and other equipment to MPB in good faith. During the first transaction, the parcel went missing/delayed in transit for approximately 8–10 weeks while under MPB’s shipping/courier process. The equipment was sitting in transit/storage conditions completely outside my control.

After eventually receiving the parcel, MPB are now stating fungus was identified during that first inspection. However, this was never properly communicated to me at the time. Their own customer experience team later admitted the revised grading details and inspection findings “were not communicated as clearly as they should have been.”

The lens was not used between submissions, yet the second valuation dropped significantly. I also disputed comments regarding missing accessories, as the lens hood and tripod collar were included in the shipment and I have photographs supporting this.

Despite multiple emails and escalation requests, MPB refused to offer any meaningful resolution and instead offered discount vouchers for future purchases, which I clearly stated I did not want.

What frustrates me most is the lack of accountability surrounding a parcel that was delayed for weeks and the inconsistent communication throughout the process.

Very disappointed with how this was handled from start to finish. Avoid at all costs

The shipping...

The website, selection and ordering was easy. The receiving the goods was an entirely different story. Package wasn't delivered because I'm not home when Fed Ex comes through. They leave a door tag. I call Fed Ex and ask for them to remove the signature requirement, since i can't sign for it or remove the signature requirement online. They tell me to call MPB and have them call Fed Ex to have them remove the signature requirement. I call MPB and ask them to do this. They tell they can't. I say that's what Fed Ex told me to tell them and I get back "Yeah, it won't work, can you have someone be there during the day?" because I didn't think of that before I called. Apparently you need to be home or you won't get your stuff is what I got from MPB. That, or go pick it up from the Fed Ex distribution center, more than an hour away, one way. Neat. Glad I paid to have my stuff held ransom for my signature.

For higher-value orders - any order over $1,000 - a signature is required to ensure the package is delivered securely and to protect against loss or theft. This requirement is part of our agreement with FedEx and isn’t something we’re able to remove once the order has shipped. We do offer options like scheduling delivery for a specific day you’re available, including weekends, to help make this more manageable.

Just recently sold my Tamron 150-600…

Just recently sold my Tamron 150-600 lens. That lens was just sitting on my shelf. The lens was in very good condition. The original estimate was $750 (I think). I received an updated estimate after lens was inspected that was almost $100 more.

Return customer. Even habitual. Very attractive prices with fair assessment; the purchased items are better than expected. The estimates for trades are fair and accurate; no haggling and quick.
Overall sense of honesty and professionalism.

Great Experience!

I found that overall, from the limited number of companies that I trust to buy and sell my used camera equipment to, MPB is the most consistent between quoted and final inspected offers. This is totally dependent on the individual rating their equipment fairly given that you are given an estimate based on your self-assessment that is 'sight unseen' from their perspective.

I believe their prices are fair with most others, including them. They will markup the quoted price you are paid by 30% to 40% when they list your item for sale. All in all, this may seem large, but they are taking the risk in remarketing your items, and insuring that you are not having to deal with buyers who change their minds, return items, get upset, etc.

Once they review and assess your gear, they are quick to pay and do direct deposits of your proceeds. I like that specifically when dealing with them as opposed to other companies.

After I had requested a quote and received it, I was appointed a sales representative that stayed in contact with me throughout the process. I very much enjoyed their personal touch.

I can highly recommend MPB as both a source for buying and selling camera gear. It has been a pleasure dealing with them and I will continue to do so in the future for all of my photography needs.
