About a year ago I bought my first Parsons Essential. Impeccable fit and finish. Great durable writers that get delivered in record time. Online service is fast but to the point; often active outside office hours. (From U.K. to netherlands in three to four business days)
All this prompted me to suggest the product and the company as a great excellent option to my colleagues at airbase Volkel in the Netherlands. Long story short; I have since had to order 15 more pens for colleagues, as the company is not well known to many people here. (11 Parsons, 4 ballpoints) I hope this review resolves that issue.

Churchman Prescriptor with broad italic nib. I have a desk full of FP and simply that is where they will stay ! After many years of buying FP i have finally found one that is perfect for me and all said and done i can't add any more than what all the reviewers have said before me! Peter Ford and his team should be very proud of themselves :)

Excellent pen and customer services. I believe those who are after Italix pens are well aware of how these pens are well regarded by others and I find it unnecessary to repeat them here. As a note, delivery speed is brilliant. I live in Australia and my Parson's Essential arrives just a week after my order. Everything is good, customer service, delivery speed, condition of the pen. Nothing's wrong and everything are absolutely great!

I placed my order online for two Parson's Essential fountain pens late on a Monday afternoon ... from Canada. On Thursday morning of the same week, my pens were delivered in perfect condition, including the requested engraving on the caps.
One pen is a gift, so I promptly inked the one I had purchased for myself and fell utterly besotted under its spell! It is one of the smoothest Fine nibs I have ever used, and I have been collecting since 1978.
I could not resist, given the amazing speed and care with which Mr Pen filled my order, so today --only one day after I received my first order-- I have placed a second order for an Amber Parson's Essential, this time with a Cursive Stub nib.
Not even online pen stores in Canada can fill and deliver an order as quickly as did mrpen.co.uk. I have waited for two weeks for shipments from Montréal. Trust Peter Ford and you will not be disappointed.

[I am writing just one week after my first review] AND ... I just received my second order from mrpen.co.uk, in blazing trans-Atlantic speed to match my first order. The order shipped Monday afternoon and today, Thursday morning, it had arrived in my postbox. Doubly besotted, I am, now that I own two Italix Parson's Essential pens, one with a Fine cursive nib, and the latest with a Medium cursive stub, this one in the amber finish. I contacted mrpen.co.uk after I had already placed my order to add an item I had overlooked, and Mr. Ford was so accommodating with my request. Amazing customer service and top of the line products!

Strange move - I was thinning out a large collection of fountain pens (40-odd) and then buy a new one!
To be honest, most of my collection has plain, boring, medium nibs and tended to be much of a muchness, even with the variation between a lot of Parkers, a few Sheaffers and various others right up to a Mont Blanc - plus several Pilot's (Namiki) that tended to get used more than any others.
Selected a few that I really liked and started putting the rest on Ebay. In the process, I came across some U-tube reviews of Italix pens and decided that a new pen among all the vintage stuff wouldn't be a bad idea, especially with the choice of nib types available.
Eventually settled for the Captain's Commission with a medium cursive stub nib.

Superb - wrote beautiful straight out of the box, very smooth and plenty of wetness without flooding.

Having used a lot of the small Pilot pens (like the Elite) in the past, the Captain's Commission seems (is!) huge and took a little getting used to - but writes so well that there is no competition.
There is no way that I could use it posted though - the cap is so heavy it unbalances the pen, just takes a bit of discipline to put the cap down safely where I can find it again.
Unlike some pens I have used, the sprung clip is light enough to slip onto a shirt pocket but strong enough to hold there - though in truth the pen is really a bit on the large size for that so the Pilot Elite will probably still get some use.

Overall, I am now using this pen so much that I will now be thinning out the collection even more and cut it to just half a dozen - so keep watching on Ebay!

Superb pen, worthy of an Admiral! Will almost certainly be back for another pen with a different nib when a few more of those vintage pens have sold!

I have to say the service was excellent . The pen and the nib are awesome. This was my first italix pen. It won't be my last !!!

The Churchman's Prescriptor exhibits high build quality, the finish is excellent, and nib performance is extremely smooth. Price is reasonable. Reviews of the pen have been almost universally positive, so the pen had high expectations to meet. The pen, and the service from Peter Ford, met and exceeded these expectations.

I have been looking at the interesting range of Italix pens, and since I normally write with an Italic nib, they did seem appropriate. Certainly SBRE Browns videos, made them look attractive performance wise, and good value.
My decision to buy the latest English Curate model, stems from the clean design lines, and the quality build process. On unboxing the new pen, I was very pleased, the sable finish is somewhat hard to distinguish on the Mr Pen website, but it is appealingly odd. The pen has a lovely feel, and has perfect balance when posted. I did have some problems getting the nib to write uniformly, it had severe babies bottom, but a few seconds "Figure-eighting" on a fine stone quickly eleviated that issue. The nib notation is strange; I ordered a 1.3mm Broad Italic, (untipped,) but the nib says 1.4, but actually writes more like a 1.2, (but none of this is important of course.)
It is a gorgeous Pen, (the only minor point on design, is that I feel the section is too shiny/smooth, which can created a holding issue.)
I highly recommend this English made, English Curate.

Just got my pens a few days ago (Parson Essentials) and I'm very impressed. The quality is HIGH, and I really like the smooth lacquer finish.

So far, the writing seem really nice on both the italic and non-italic models. The weight feels perfect (not too heavy at all), and nice balance.

Very glad I bought them and company was nice to deal with.

the nib was smooth and nice, too broad though. It seems that its broad, not medium. the pen feels great in the hand, good quality.

In the fountain pen world Mr Ford has a world wide reputation for quality and service. His range of pens are extremely good quality and value for money. Simply, they work each and every time. You can spend hundred's of pounds and not get anything more for your money. I have three of his pens in my collection!

I bought the Captain's Commission with a italic nib and it writes supersmooth! I also like the engraving services! I will certainly order again in the future!

I have not yet completed a transaction with this company, but I have been exchanging emails with management and find that communication is honest, fast, and to the point. These things, and my knowledge of the product quality, lead me to give a 5/5 review even though I have not made a purchase.

I love this pen. The Parsons Essentials is a nice, even weight in the hand. The nib is super-smooth. I just love using this pen. Nice 'crisp' lines.

I'm absolutely in love with my new Churchman's Prescriptor fountain pen. It has a substantial feel in the hand, but isn't too heavy even for prolonged writing (caveat: I do have pretty big hands). The craftsmanship is unbelievable, and the pen is both beautiful and exceedingly functional.

From the black lacquer finish, to my initials on the finial, to the personalized engraving on the barrel...this pen FEELS like it's "my pen".

The stainless steel nib doesn't have a lot of give to it, but you don't need it (and it's not intended to). It's buttery smooth, and the hand-ground medium cursive stub that I chose offers the perfect amount of line variation to add expressiveness to my writing without being unusable for "regular" writing.

This is an amazing pen, and would be worth two or three times the price. I can't thank Mr. Ford enough for crafting this masterpiece for me!

My pen arrived next day after ordering and it was fantastic, exactly what I ordered, and well packaged.
I will be ordering more from Mr Pen, as with regards to value for money, their products just cannot be bettered.
