I read the reviews on this pen very thoroughly and all were highly complimentary. Having used the pen for a period I am happy to fully agree with the reviews. It really is an excellent and great value.

With a fountain pen most people writes in the same speed as they think in proper order. Not as many faults as when You use a keyboard and a PC or laptop. Your brain and your hand works together in a very nice and corresponding way. You must try it. And start with MrPens Italix Parson Essential medium italic nib, Diamine ink and Rhodia paper.
You won´t regret it.

Before ordering my Italix Viper's Strike, I phoned Mr. Ford to determine exactly which italic nib I needed. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Placed the order with MrPen on one day and it arrived the following afternoon. Am delighted with the pen as it feels pleasantly heavy and solid and the ink flows smoothly straight away. I am now able to produce the best italic handwriting I have managed in years. Also like the screw cap which hopefully will prevent any leaks when travelling. A very satisfied customer.

I enjoyed looking at the Italix fountain pens on the Mr Pen website, as well as You Tube videos of the Parsons Essential and Captains Commission. I ordered the Parsons on a Sunday evening and it arrived on the Tuesday, in the post. Also delighted with the pen.

I received my Italix "Captain's Commission" pen in very short order. An excessively handsome pen with excellent fit and finish. I ordered the medium cursive italic nib and am quite pleased with it. I wanted to get a really good writing pen for my Wife as a present.
After much online research I called Mr Pen as to suitability, and was immediately impressed by his knowledge, friendliness and professionalism.

I would normally not buy a pen mail order as feel and writing ability is something that has to tried, but he offers a 30 day free nib replacement in case you don't get on with the one ordered, so I felt it was worth a try

I thus ordered a black Parsons essential pen with custom nib & engraving. Mr Pen offers a free engraved plate for the presentation case which I also took advantage of.

My local engravers normally require a working week before pick up for custom engraving, so I was expecting a similar reasonable delay from Mr Pen.

The beautifully engraved Pen and case with engraved plate and cartridges arrived well packaged in the post NEXT DAY!

The pen is exactly as promised - a classic with modern refinements which weighs just right (not like a plastic bodied pen) without being too large. The engraving was to a very high standard - the SCRIPT typeface looks great on both the pen and plate - suitable for both ladies and men I feel.

I thus recommend Mr pen unreservedly - If this is your first online pen buy - don't worry, you're in very safe hands.

Being a pen enthusiast myself I am pretty hard to be satisfied especially here in europe. With Mr Pen i finally found a shop with the passion I was looking for. Putting up their own pens from parts sourced from all around , then offering them with a fair price tag. I am one happy customer. I've ordered one pen with the handmade italic nib - just to find out it is not for me. Usually that would mean a quite a lot of money down the drain. With mrpen I just order another nib and cut the loss.

I ordered a Parsons Essential with medium stubbed nib on Wednesday and received it on Saturday, UK to Netherlands. The pen exceeds expectations. The writing angle of stubbed or italic nibs is usually quite sensitive but this one is not biting the paper when you are off the 'sweet spot', it just stops writing. Very well done.

The Website is easy to use and understand. If you have a problem you can telephone Mr Pen and he gives you excellent advice gained from many years of working within the pen market. This includes Biros and Rolling Balls, although Fountain Pens are his personal interest.

This is the second italix pen I have brought frm Mr Pen. Like my Parsons Essential the Captains Commission is amazing value for money. The extra broad italic nib is nothing short of superb

Ordered a churchmans prescriptior, for my father's 50th. I felt the price was very reasonable, the website failed to confirm which nib I required but this was quickly rectified by a phone call by P.J Ford engraving was top notch and delivery was prompt. My expections were more than met will defiantly use Mr Pen again, will defiantly recommend with out a doubt.

A great solidly built pen, you won't be disappointed!

The Pen is a very smooth writer, for an italic pen, I got the Medium Italic. I like the look of it and it is nice and heavy. I won't use it posted, because than it would be back heavy. The cap looks great and feels more heavy than the rest of the pen, which is probably not true but feels like it. A very worthy feeling. I like the dark red barrel, only thought it would be brighter, but I like it as it is.

The Engraving - my initials - I choose is on the barrel and only noticable when you know it is there and in with enough light in the correct angle. You can't feel it with your finger tips. So it is good if you want to find your pen, but it probably don't happen that soon that I met other people with (the same) Italix Pens.

I use Graf von Faber-Castell Stone Grey in it and it looks a little bit darker in this pen then in others. It immediately started writing, only some little skips with the side strokes when you write on cheap paper sometimes in the beginning.

The Gift Box is nice, I got a small plate with an engraving, only pity is that it will stay in the drawer as I will carry this pen all time with me.

I think I will buy another Italix Pen in the upcoming months.

Only bad thing worth mentioning, but which has nothing to do with P.J. Ford, the Royal Mail Partner in Austria: GLS seems to have no access to apartment building, so they can't reach the post boxes to leave a notice. They probably just put it on the front door, where it easily gets lost, especially with the rainy weather these days. In my case I didn't get one and the package nearly was sent back. The Royal Mail Tracking only showed a delivered message and only through looking through bulletin boards on the web, I found out that GLS was the partner in Austria since 2011. On the GLS website I could look it up with the tracking number and it was delivered to a british shirts shop (gls partner) and was waiting there for me. I got it with an ID and it seems normal that people don't have notices when they get there. I think it is stupid that the status is listed as delivered when you still have to get it somewhere else.

Very patient with me when I got confused about my order. Web site is very informative and this really helps with making a choice. Very quick dispatch and the added engraving is a lovely, special touch. I love my new pen and will definitely be back (or drop hints for birthday/Christmas.

I just bought two Italix Parson's Essentials, one Broad stub nib, the other Fine stub nib.
The pens with their piano black laquer finish, brass liners for heft, subtle and discreet detailed brass inlay in the cap, super-strong pocket clips would be terrific value at, dunno, 3x, 4x, 5x the cost.
Do you like know stub nibs? They don't have the little pellet at the contact point of pen-to-paper, but a flat chiselled end that stops short of italic. Parson's Essentials are labelled "wet" and the ink flow is rich and consistent.
Both pens arrived the day after ordering, beautifully boxed and packaged. The F nib was too fine for my taste. I emailed, returned it (just the nib) and the replacement was in my letter-box the next morning - still F, but finished as though bespoke, which effectively it was.
I cannot rate the pen, the value and the service highly enough. 6 star.

I am happy with my purchase from Mr. Pen, I wish more companies made their pens write this well out of the box. The pen was dispatched the same day as ordered and it arrived quickly and securely. I also very much like the engraving services.
