Limited coverage – short hospital stays only, no support for rehabilitation

Multicare works reasonably well for private hospitalizations of up to ~1–2 months, depending on the justification given by the caregiver. However, it does not cover continued care or rehabilitation. This is a serious limitation, especially for elderly patients who may need intensive physiotherapy or mobility support after treatment.

In addition, the phone support service is only available in Portuguese and is very rigid. They repeatedly assure that continued care is never covered, regardless of individual medical needs.

The focus seems more on avoiding financial cost than on supporting patients’ lives. For elderly patients, extending quality of life does not appear to be a priority, and the approach is rarely comprehensive or empathetic.

It's good once you understand how it works !

Once you understand how it works, it's ok. I have downloaded the Hospital da Luz , a private hospital that accepts this insurance and I can make an appointment with an English speaking doctor for the next day. The hospital is pretty good with the latest technology. I went there several times already. Only a few minutes waiting period. It's ok and I leave with a prescription.

What a rubbish 24/7 online medicine…

What a rubbish 24/7 online medicine service!

I requested an appointment on 22/03 and waited for 6 hours without being contacted. I gave up at 10:30 pm and turned off my cell phone as the deadline for being answered was 4 hours. The next day, I discovered they tried to call me after 10:30 pm

I requested a new appointment today, 23/03 , at 8:00 am to receive a call only at 1:00 pm. I explained the case and asked for a prescription. The doctor who attended to me said she was about to send it but after 2 hours I still haven't received anything via SMS or email. I have never received such a bad service for the price I am paying to Multicare.

If I may suggest, avoid Multicare online medicine at all costs.

Worst customer service

This company in Portugal is really bad. Their operations and customer service are terrible. It's been more than a month, and they still haven't been able to update my card information. Because of this, I'm having ongoing issues with all my health service providers. It's just a big mess.

Disgusting company

Disgusting, despicable pieces of human garbage run this company. They have no email. Their phone is only in Portuguese. After 30 minutes i still cannot figure out the correct numbers to press to get through. Absolutely disgusting company.
