Scaffolding and ladders have been left on the side of the building for 12 months now. No reply when asked when they will be removed.

Absolutely shocking!
My daughter moved in last July. The house was still being emptied and cleaned despite the landlord saying that it would be completely ready by the move in date. As soon as you walked in the door, the smell of mould hit you. I questioned the landlord who first said there was no mould, then said there had been mould and then said that it had been in the details given to my daughter. The mould was horrific. We were assured it would be dealt with immediately but it took months and months. My daughter became ill and only after constant badgering was anything done. She lost a lot of possessions, especially clothing due to the mould.
The carpets were disgusting. I said that they needed washing and was told it was due to be done in the next couple of days. This again turned into weeks - not ideal when the students had moved in - and only selected rooms were done despite the whole house needing it.
The rent amount was different to what was advertised but we were told that the other site was wrong.
"SAFE, SECURE & WELL MAINTAINED PROPERTIES" what a joke! Priority was given to the landlord's family's property. The backyard was covered in rubbish, building supplies and weeds. The path to the front door was nearly impassable due to the overgrown plants and weeds.
"LUXURY HOMES FURNISHED TO A HIGH STANDARD Excellence and comfort have never been out of our sight when we provide our student accommodation Liverpool. Each of our homes around South Liverpool are well planned and fully furnished to a high standard. We provide an assortment of home decors and house furnishing that are geared towards a heathy and comfortable student life." Yes they are students but all of the furniture was from charity shops or was broken. The walls were covered in anaglypta that looked like it had been up since the 1900s and was being held up by the layers and layers of (poorly done) paint.
My daughter and her friend spent a lot of money and time in the first month on cleaning the house. One of the ovens didn't work and everything was mouldy and just generally filthy.
The landlords ignored calls and emails, went back on their word and were generally useless. The deposit wasn't put in a Deposit Scheme until my daughter asked for a copy, weeks after moving in.
It was a relief to us all when the tenancy ended. Had I been able to view the contract and accomodation prior to my daughter signing, I would never have allowed her to live there.
8 students paying over £130 a week adds up to some big money. Shame the landlords don't spend it on making the house safe and liveable.
