MYA Cosmetic Surgery  Reviews 

I've been so distressed but finally publicly speaking out to warn others, especially any other women of colour. This happened to me on March 9th 2024.

I waited over 25 years for breast reduction surgery and chose MYA — and Mr Domenico Mileto — believing I was in safe, experienced hands.

I went into this exceptionally prepared: I did extensive research, brought written notes and questions, attended multiple consultations, was clear about my priorities, and raised concerns repeatedly in advance.

Despite all of that, I have been left with an outcome that has caused lasting harm.
I was very clear about one specific fear: ending up too small for my frame. I’m nearly 6ft tall and repeatedly said I did not want a B/C cup. I asked for a proportionate result and trusted professional judgement.

This wasn’t vague — it was said multiple times and documented.

Removal of 500-700g per breast was discussed and agreed and contemporaneous notes were recorded in front of witnesses during the second pre surgery consultation but instead, on the day of surgery Mr Mileto removed 1280g from my left breast and 910g from the right breast.

The result is not what was discussed.

I was left significantly smaller than planned and with clear asymmetry that was visible early on.
One breast sits lower than the other, nipple positions are uneven, scars sit at different heights, and the overall shape is not balanced. I cannot find bras that fit properly and I no longer recognise my own body.

But the worst part — the part that still affects my daily life — is this:
Two years on, I am still in significant neuropathic pain, consistent with nerve injury/entrapment and on strong pain killers 3 times a day.

I live with nerve pain that I believe relates to the way tissue/nerve was stitched, its visible from the outside.
This isn’t “recovery.” This isn’t “swelling.” This is chronic pain that has changed my quality of life. And when I raised concerns early and repeatedly, I felt minimised and delayed — told to wait, not worry, or that it was too early to tell — even when problems were clearly visible.

The emotional harm was compounded by how difficult it was to have concerns taken seriously once the money had been paid and the surgery was done.

This experience has had a very serious and lasting impact on my mental health and wellbeing. I required renewed GP and mental health support after previously being stable.

I did everything a patient is told to do: researched thoroughly, documented my concerns, communicated clearly, attended appointments properly, and trusted professional judgement.
Consent does not erase responsibility — especially when a patient repeatedly flags a specific risk and the outcome is both physically and psychologically damaging.

I’m sharing this so future patients understand not just the consultation process, but what happens when things go wrong — including the reality that you may be left managing long-term pain and distress after the fact.

I would not recommend MYA or Mr Mileto based on my experience.

EDITED TO ADD: I raised my concerns immediately through MYA’s formal internal complaints procedure, which they have on record, including escalation through their published stages. That process concluded with my concerns being denied, dismissed, and responsibility not accepted. This review is written after that process concluded and reflects my devastatingly traumatic experience and its long-term consequences, including ongoing physical pain and serious psychological impact.

What a lovely team, so friendly and welcoming. I have chosen Mya for my breast implants. I had more questions after coming away from my initial appointment with the surgeon and Ciara was more than happy and knowledgeable to take the time to answer my questions and also give her advice (not persuasive) I was made to feel SO comfortable. I give these girls FIVE STARS 🌟 what a lovely team they are!!

Booked in for an online consultation, was told to create an account and fill out medical forms, kept getting logged out of the account, tried to fill in my nhs number said it wasn’t valid, called them up to explain and they said ‘I don’t need the nhs number’,but on my end i was being asked for it so how would I know it wasn’t needed? Whoever I spoke to had a snotty attitude too. The whole thing seemed too much hassle and the location of the face to face consult wasn’t within travelling distance.

The nurse was very friendly and approachable. She made me feel comfortable throughout and took the time to talk me through everything clearly and kindly.

Couldn’t have asked for a more helpful or reassuring team. Every little question I had was answered incredibly quickly and efficiently, everyone was extremely polite and welcoming. Thank you as well to the ladies at the reception Ciara, Sanom and Heather.

Amazing from start to finish and very informative

I can say, hand on heart Dr Samouris has changed my life and given my confidence back! He listened to me and what I wanted whilst also giving me his opinion and giving me options ensuring I was doing what was right for me. The care i was given was more than 5 star, my nurse team of Jo and Zeim in London were amazing and took care of me so well!

From start to end I had a seamless and lovely experience with MYA. I had a breast reduction surgery going from a G cup to a C cup with Dr Samouris. He was amazing and gave me exactly what I wanted. Zeim was my post-op nurse who I met weekly and she honestly gave me the best experience week by week. Caring, attentive and made me feel at ease always. From the pre op, to the hospital experience and post op I cannot fault MYA.

It was a smooth experience, only bumps were testing positive for MRSA a week before my surgery date but the testing and prescriptions were super quick so we could still go ahead & getting a cyst towards my last stitch post op (however this is just my body, slightly unlucky and nothing to do with MYA!) but they supported me and provided all prescriptions which was amazing.

I am in love with my new boobs and feel like I have a new lease of life. From week 1 post op I already loved the shape, Dr Samouris couldn’t have done any better. I feel like I have my life back and if anyone is hesitating, just do it! Best decision I’ve made.

I had a fantastic experience with MYA for my breast uplift and breast augmentation. The only negative I have had was being sent home from my op with pain relief that interfered with my epilepsy medication. My nurse, Joanna, for my aftercare was really lovely and I’ve always seen the same person which was a nice touch too! My surgeon was Mr Lahood and my results are better that I could have ever hoped for!

When I visited MYA for my individual needs, I felt truly supported by Sonam and Ciara, who carefully guided me through the process and introduced me to the most suitable professional for my treatment. I couldn’t be happier with the overall experience and would highly recommend then

I had surgery July 18th (breast reduction) with Dr Mileto it didn’t go to plan as smoothly as I’d liked as my body didn’t cope very well with the surgery. But what I can say was the care I received from Mya especially my nurse Rachel (Birmingham clinic), she checked in with me every week even if that was in clinic or over the phone supplying me with all I needed for my wound’s. I can finally say I am at the end of my journey to which I’ll see Dr Mileto next year if there is any additional surgery needed for my scars.

It’s all worth it in the end patients is the key. ☺️

I have had the best experience with Mya and have been treated with care and respect all the way through.

I had such a wonderful experience with this clinic from start to finish. My entire journey was incredibly smooth, beginning with my lovely coordinator, Katy, who made everything feel easy and stress-free. She was always available to answer questions and guided me through each step with so much patience and kindness. My pre- and post-op nurse, Joanna, was equally amazing. She was attentive, reassuring, and caring throughout the whole process. I especially appreciated the call from one of the nurses a few days after my surgery just to check in and make sure I was doing well. The whole experience felt simple, well-organised, and personal. I couldn’t be happier with both the care I received and my results. Highly recommend!

My experience getting a breast augmentation with Mya has been nothing but excellent. From my first consultation, to meeting my surgeon Mr Mileto, to surgery week and my 1 week post op appointment it’s safe to say i couldn’t have picked a better place! All the staff at the birmingham clinic are lovely and made me feel very safe and looked after, and Mr Miletos work is incredible! Being only 1.5 weeks post op i can still say this is the best decision i could’ve made. He has done a perfect job and given me my dream boobs! Incisions are almost invisible and so neat and small. Will be 100% recommending Mya to anyone considering. Thanks so much and can’t wait to be fully healed and enjoy this new lease of life! Xx

Excellent from start to finish my mya journey has been amazing, the nurses are all very welcoming and friendly which makes you feel at ease you can also have a laugh and giggle with them too. The aftercare has been great I am extremely happy with my results my surgeon is fantastic at what he does i am over the moon with my final result's. If anyone is thinking of getting breast enlargement I would definitely recommend this clinic they are all amazing!!! Thank you so much to you all x

Nurse Rachel has been great during my pre op, 1 week post and 6 week post op. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely answered all my questions and put my mind at ease. For context I had a breast augmentation but also intrinsic release.
