Feels like a scam
Poor experience of this website. I accessed it to take advantage of 30 day free trial credit scoring, which turns out cannot be provided without postage of sets of paperwork - so it is NOT any kind of easy online service as suggested. I then had £14.99 taken from my account. I cancelled membership - or so I thought- only to again have £14.99 taken from my bank the following month. This has all the makings and feeling of a 'scam' which preys on those least able to afford £14.99 per month. Terms and conditions all geared towards making it difficult to remove yourself from the site and the monthly £14.99 - for absolutely NO service whatsoever. I truly feel as though I have been scammed. I am reasonably capable and comfortable using internet services and really feel silly for having fallen for this.
Thank you Sarah for your response. I will phone or email or attempt to do what is necessary to properly cancel my membership. I would like a refund of this months £14.99 and will be asking for this. I would hope that common sense would prevail and that anyone who has clearly not received a service would at least expect this to be carried out without additional fuss.
I have now received an email confirming my canceled membership. I will follow up with an enquiry as to why the £14.99 was removed from my account this month and request it is refunded.
I have had the £14.99 refunded, which is much appreciated, thank you.

As part of the registration process for customers we ask 3 questions in order to validate their identity, if a customer passes all 3 questions they have instant access to their credit report and score. If a customer fails one or more of the questions, we request that they send in ID to validate their identity.

Good service good alerts
I've used this a couple of times to check my credit rating. The alert service is good aswell as it alerts you to things affeting your credit or checking your credit It's abit pricy but cheaper than others and always good to check your rating

Only online service which worked for us.
Since my wife and I haven't lived in the UK longer than 2 Years, MyCreditMonitor was one of two services which accepted our dates but the only one with immediate results.

Lasted 24 hours, score massively inaccurate
After providing all information was given a score of 580, the lowest possible it seems. A massive surprise as I have quite a good history. So I also signed up to the market leader where they gave me a score of 980, what a difference! Double checked both sites information against each other and they matched, picking up all my accounts and the same recent searches etc. My only thought is that perhaps they were trying to sell me a service and that my score would come back up to its correct level after signing up.
Needless to say the account was cancelled the next day.
**update**
After mycreditmonitor replied saying a score of 580 is excellent I checked their website. After stating that the score from the website will range from 0-700 it goes on to say " A score above 609 is considered to be 'excellent' whereas a rating below 588 will be judged as 'poor' and carry the associated financial consequences in relation to credit"
I still stand by my original comment, the score awarded of 559 (i just checked for the actual figure) and depicted as 1 out of 5 stars is poor.
The fact that out of a 0-700 scale the good range is 21 points is a little worrying...

A score of 580 for MyCreditMonitor is an excellent credit score and is shown as excellent on your MyCreditMonitor page.
