A joke of a company

Quite the joke - both their shipping service, and their customer service.
I sent a few packages late November/early December.
One was delivered to an unspecified neighbour. I knocked on the door to every neighbour in the building, none had received it. The next package was returned to its sender by the Paketshop (along with all other packages in the shop) two days after it arrived due to a "faulty handscanner" in the Paketshop, instead of keeping the packages and hoping most customers would online track and collect them. The third just circulated between various Hermes warehouses in Berlin for 2 weeks, then returned back to the sender, never reached the Paketshop or my house.
Online chat and Whatsapp chat, with extremely unintelligent AI, autogenerated replies, with no help from real people. Only a contact form, with German answering times, which after 3 weeks has still not been answered.

I have just received notification that…

I have just received notification that my delivery is received. But I did not receive anything, and Im at home right now. But my ringbell did not clinked, even did not knock my door. They just threw a paper into my post box. I was looking for my package around home and did not find anything thats why I checked post box and found a small paper 'nicht da..,". But I have been waiting for my delivery since this morning because I received notification from my order -its out for delivery. And their delivery man did not deliver package to the address, and they threw my package to someone instead of my address which I have been waiting for. So I do not have any other option to leave real experience on their delivery process on internet. Hope you will work better next time.

Mostly Excellent, But the "Last Mile" is Key

I use Hermes for both receiving parcels and sending returns several times a month. Overall, they are my preferred carrier in Germany due to their convenience, but there's one recurring issue that prevents a perfect score.

The Pros (Why I choose them):

Parcel Shop Network is a Game-Changer: This is their biggest advantage. Having a Paketshop just a few minutes away in my local kiosk is incredibly convenient for picking up and dropping off parcels outside of standard working hours. The QR code system is seamless.

Great Tracking: The app and email updates are clear and timely. I always know when my package is out for delivery or ready for pickup.

Cost-Effective for Returns: Many online shops partner with Hermes for free returns, and the process is always straightforward.

The Con (Where they lose a star):

My rating is solely due to inconsistency with home deliveries. While most drivers are punctual and polite, about 25% of the time, the experience is frustrating. The classic "you weren't home" slip (despite me being home all day) happens just often enough to be annoying. When they use the "safe place" option, it's sometimes a very odd or slightly exposed spot.

Verdict:

For reliability and control, I always opt for Paketshop delivery if given the choice—that service is a solid 5 stars. It's the standard home delivery that can be hit or miss. Hermes is a very good service that makes life easier, but they could really improve training and consistency for their last-mile drivers to become excellent.

My TV was delivered by Hermes on 27…

My TV was delivered by Hermes on 27 November. It was a 75-inch Hisense TV, about 33 kg with the box and around 23 kg without it. What shocked me was that Hermes sent only one person to handle this delivery.

This is not a small parcel. It’s a heavy, oversized item that clearly requires two people to move safely. Expecting one driver to carry something this big on their own raises serious questions about whether Hermes cares about worker safety or basic human responsibility. How is this even possible or allowed?

Watching one person struggle with such a heavy load didn’t feel right. It looked unsafe for him and unfair. Companies should think about the health and well-being of their staff, not just finishing the delivery.

The package arrived, but the delivery process was disappointing and irresponsible. I really hope Hermes reviews these practices and treats their workers with more care.

worst delivery company in germany

worst delivery company in germany. customer service hangs up phone on you, delivery personel harass you, delivery is canceled or delayed all the time, they are rude and impolite and no one answers you. If I have a choice I would never use this post service but unfortunately for online shopping the shops choose it because it is cheaper usually. They have a 1.2 rating out of 5 on trustpilot, that should tell you enough about this company.

Ordered from AliExpress 14.11.25

Ordered from AliExpress 14.11.25. Handed over to Hermes on 17.11.25 (In Germany).
Told by Hermes on 21.11.25 that my address was "inaccurate", in spite of all other delivery services having no problem with the same address and the package was not delivered. Chose a delivery point. Now I have the 26.11.25 as delivery date.
The package arrived from Aliexpress to Germany in 3 days. It's now been in Germany for 7 days and if by some miracle is actually delivered to the PackShop will have been in Germany for 9 days.
In Short: If a company uses Hermes, don't buy there. Hermes is the worst "Delivery" company bar none.
Edit: Another part of the SAME AliExpress order was delivered 25.11.25 by DPD to my address with no problems whatsoever.

Delivery men don’t ring the doorbell

Hermes keeps dropping messages into my post box instead of ringing the doorbell. It’s very annoying because I keep having to go to Hermes to pick it up. Pay your delivery ppl. better so that they don’t have to rush and leave messages to save time instead of actually delivering the parcel

Everything that could go wrong went wrong

Everything that could go wrong, went wrong first, the courier claimed. I refused the package despite him never even ring my doorbell as a result of which or must decided to send my package back to the UK to the person who sent it only after spending five hours on the telephone with her message did I get them to retry the delivery then they tell me it’s gonna get delivered on a date it’s now been two weeks. Still haven’t received my parcel. The communication is atrocious. Good luck trying to get an answer out of the people on the hotline, the order tracking is I guess at best it seems so. Yeah I would stay very far away.

In germany

In germany, hermes is incapable of bringing packages to your address, either they cannot find the address because the drivers are blind or they dont have legs or arms to bring it to you. I blame hermes for underpaying their employee for them to pull this "cant find address" move!!

Received someone else's package instead of mine

I was expecting a delivery day today from FedEx. I received a notification that it will be delivered from Hermes. Today, the Hermes delivery man came and tried to deliver a package for someone else to me, but I told him it wasn't my package and it clearly has someone else's name on it and it was a very small brown envelope without any FedEx logo. I refused delivery.

This is the second time FedEx/Hermes has done this to me. FedEx switches to a lower-quality delivery service once it arrives in the country after customs processing, and this causes confusion between FedEx and Hermes, and Hermes has a lower quality of service.

Now I must assume that FedEx/Hermes might have also delivered my package to the wrong address, who knows what that person will do with it.

Shold change the name to "Germs"

These guys have no idea about their own business. I don´t know if it´s a archaic ancient German managing the business or if their main business is something else like "gardening" and the courier service is just a diversification, but they have a divine gift of screwing every single delivery. They are completely lost in their own burocracy and process. A case to be studied.

Hermes Germany is by far the worst…

Hermes Germany is by far the worst delivery company I’ve ever dealt with. Their service is pathetic, their so-called “customer support” doesn’t exist and their robot system is a joke. It’s nearly impossible to reach anyone for real help.

Every time my delivery goes through Hermes, it ends in delay, frustration or no delivery at all. This company seriously needs to fix its system it’s a total waste of time and trust.

Hermes is an absolute nightmare.

Hermes is an absolute nightmare.

They claim to have delivered my package “to a neighbor,” but no one rang, and nothing was delivered. I was home the entire day.

This isn’t the first time either — the last time their courier came after 11 PM and just dropped the package in front of my door like it was a bag of trash.

Hermes is the worst delivery company in Germany. They lose packages, mark them as “delivered,” and expect customers to just deal with it.

Never again. If I see a store uses Hermes, I don’t order.

Hermes kept my parcel for 12 days and delivered in wrong place

Hermes kept my parcel for 12 days because the chosen pickup point was closed — and they didn’t give me any option to change it.

Then, after all that waiting, they just dumped the parcel in a random shop on the opposite side of Munich.

No notification, no choice, no logic. Just “wait and deal with it.”
Completely unreliable service — zero flexibility and zero communication.

Never delivered

My packet was just delivered to someone other.
I was complaining with them several weeks and they didn't admit that.
No information provided about who is receiver.
My advice: Always avoid to use this service if possible.
