LIMITED bandwidth & Impossible to cancel subscription

Error 7040, impossible to cancel the subscription.
Error 7040 happens if you use too much bandwidth, about maybe 20 gigabytes in a day, sometimes it happened with less, or if you stay connected for the whole day. If the error happens, you cna only ask the support to fix it once, the second time they just tell you that it was your fault, and that you should give them more money. To cancel the subcription you have to write to the support, as it is impossible to cancel it using a button.

Falsely flagged, can’t cancel, can’t use.

They log information and their automated “abuse detection system” monitors nearly everything you do while the app is open.

I got error code 7040 because of “unusual activity” for what I’ve no absolutely idea but they flagged me and said I literally have to wait until next year (end of my billing cycle) for them to fix it.

Furthermore, they also make it impossible to cancel your subscription. The only way is through asking their incredibly rude support. Very dark sketchy practices which I will follow upon through legal channels aswell.

They won’t let me cancel my subscription — very frustrating experience

A couple of months ago, I paid $10 USD for Mysterium VPN using my card. From day one, I couldn’t use the service — every time I tried to log in, their authentication system was down and never worked. I assumed it was temporary, but they kept charging me every month even though I never managed to use the VPN once.

A few days ago, I decided to cancel my subscription, but their dashboard doesn’t allow it. It says you must contact support. When I did, support refused to cancel my subscription unless I explained why I wanted to cancel. I told them several times that I just want to stop being charged, yet they keep asking for a reason.

I had to block my card to stop the charges, and I still get daily emails saying the payment couldn’t be processed.
I firmly believe that customers should be free to cancel their subscription at any time, without having to justify their decision. Refusing to cancel unless I give a reason is completely disrespectful to the user.

This service is not relScam – Don’t Trust the “7-Day Money-Back Guarantee”iable and feels…

This service is not reliable and feels like an escroquerie. They advertise a “7-day money-back guarantee,” but when you ask for a refund they never respect it. Instead, support keeps sending meaningless questions and avoids replying directly to your request. Customer care is basically non-existent. Be careful before subscribing — they do not honor their own commitments.

useless service

There are many issues with their app, but the most important thing is that their service has limited traffic. it is not an unlimited bandwidth service. After using a small amount of traffic, they will restrict or ban your account.

Sneaky renewal tactics and refused to refund

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with MysteriumVPN. My subscription was renewed without any prior notification, and I was charged for a service I no longer needed or used.

I immediately contacted their support team to request a refund, as I had not used the service since the renewal and was canceling the same day. However, my request was denied. Their refusal to refund me, despite my prompt action and non-use of the service, feels dishonest and predatory.

This experience has completely eroded my trust in MysteriumVPN. I would not recommend them to anyone, especially given their questionable billing practices and unhelpful customer support.

Horrible experience

It was good the first week but then suddenly it was so bad. Connection was horrible. Couldn’t even load websites. Right after the refund policy period was over it just was the same as every single free VPN.

Avoid this App at all costs

Avoid this App at all costs, it is not fit for purposes. It doesn’t work as a solid VPN, is easily identified by popular apps such as YouTube etc when activated and is not fit for purpose.

I cancelled after 24 hours, and despite their supposed 7 day money back guarantee, they refused to issue a refund and then refused to co-operate when I proceeded with a chargeback through my credit card company.

The customer service and support is horrendous and their apparent guarantees mean nothing as they are not honoured.

Don’t be fooled into thinking you’re getting a good deal, use other providers such as Surfshark or ExpressVPN who have vastly greater VPNs for a fraction of the price.

it's not a "scam scam" but it's a scam

it's not a "scam scam" but it's a scam. mysterium vpn and mysterium dark are the same company. one of the main complaints people on mysterium dark (node runners) get is they don't make money due to low traffic. enter mysterium vpn that directs traffic to mysterium dark node operators. great concept, right? not really. mysterium has to pay these node operators for use.

so if you buy mysterium vpn they will play games such as 7040 error etc. The won't tell you how you broke mysterium rules instead leaving it vague and open ended. they will say their "system" detected abnormal use etc etc. you will deal with one of two technical support guys who are completely useless and barely literate,

but here's the truth: they want you paying for mysterium vpn but they don't want you using it. i did my own analysis what "triggers" the systems and it's 100% use. so if you watch data heavy things like youtube etc. it will trigger the system because you cost them too much money. how much data can you use a day? about 2-3 gb max. Anymore will trigger 7040 error and you will have to wait three days to get it reset or if you, dare, watch a full you tube video you may get cancelled.

It's a very strange business model. So unless you use it for very, very light use: don't bother. There is better out there.

Also security on the app sucks. It has multiple leak points and your real ip can easily leak. I have sent emails to correct it but these illiterate "support" can't. it's pure comedy and amateur hour at this place. be warned. they want your money but don't want to provide the service.

The worse support agent on the face of…

The worse support agent on the face of the planet

Blunt rude as I am paid by him or work for him, it clearly shows it's a low-labor or probably one-man show. since this behavior is carried out by dev's who don't know how to handle people's frustration hence they deal with machines all day every day.

100% scam

These guys are 100% scam. They will take your money, your VPN will work fine for 7 days (until "money back guarantee " period ends") and then they will cancel your service for "commercial use". They will not define what "commercial use" is and then after you spend 3 days talking back and force with an utterly useless technical support "team", which actually consist of one man (Issac), they will reinstate your vpn. It will work for 3-4 hours and then will get suspended again. You will repeat he process and they will never actually tell you why it was suspended. They will use vague language and then say everything is "fixed" and process starts over again with an error code of 7040 or 1112. They won't explain either one.

It's a scam and many people have had this same issue. I barely used the vpn and watched 1.5 hours of geo blocked TV . They don't provide a service. It's to grab that initial 10 bucks and that's it. So you pay 10 dollars for one week and then the scam kicks in.

Avoid at all cost. The VPN won't work for a month. If you want to waste 10 dollars for 7 days of service go ahead but their technical support is a scam. They are a scam. They are a terrible company who run a network of scams so be careful dealing with these Lithuanian scammers.
