BLOWOUT

Had a tyre blow today 24th April like most modern cars now I had no spare,I managed to get the car to a nearby bus stop and as I looked around a national tyre garage was like 50 feet from me, I thought brilliant couldn’t have picked a better place to get a flat,so I went into the reception (Hamilton branch ML3) to be told by the guy behind the counter sorry can’t help today, i thought you joking? the car is on the other side of the road you can see it from the window ,anyway contacted the AA who took me and the tyre to a nearby kwik-fit literally half a mile from them who replaced the damaged tyre in ten mins. So yeah very very poor.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Took my car in for an MOT. When i got the car back they'd scratched it. They took no responsibility for the damage even when it was obvious it had happened on their site. Raised a complaint and they did nothing. Absolute cowboys.

Had Van booked in for replacement…

Had Van booked in for replacement tyres, which I was told to purchase via their website.They cheaper that way,booked appointment online. Got them replaced by Craig who was soo informative and friendly.I also had to get wheels aligned, which I did by phoning and a lovely helpful Sophie got me an appointment which I thought was for today 15/1/26. I turned up to be told I was booked in for 16th..!! My error. But.. Tommy kindly said he would do it straight away, which was amazing. All in all I loved my experience of the store/staff and professional team!! I’ve already booked in for my Estate to get tyre replaced, once I buy it online. Recommend this store to everyone.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!!!
I took mines in for an innocent oil change and when my car went in it was fine but after I picked it up within 24 hours it showed a message showing no oil pressure and it had an oil leak a very severe one and my engine completely siezed and I had the car looked at and was told I would need a new engine and after investigation was told it was national at fault for this.
I then contacted them with proof and they refused to take accountability and staff in the office were fiercely rude to me and talking down to me like a child, I asked for the area manager to discuss this with me but I then had to chase him up and only after a month of calling did I finally get a response that was rude from the get go and calling me a liar.
I have been left with a bill of nearly £7k for all the work that will need done to my car.
They are scammers and all of the staff are completely rude and they refused to take any sort of responsibility

Fabulous service at Hamilton by Sophie

As a female customer who was unable to remove a wheel hub cap to inflate the tyre, Sophie at the Hamilton branch (Scotland) was able to remove it within 2 minutes to allow the tyre to be inflated. Sophie attended to the problem with my car quickly, efficiently and with understanding prior to a long family road journey.

Tommy Baird at Hamilton was a true gentleman, he went out of his way to change our tyre quickly after we picked up a nail on the motorway on our way to a holiday in the Highlands.

Worst experience as a car owner!

£130 for a tyre with a blue light discount, and £3 for the privilege of having a Saturday appointment and it has caused me more hassle than I have everrrr had with a car.

Tyre pressure light kept coming on straight after my tyre was changed, tyres were fine so I went back to the garage to see what was going on and the boy told me my valves might no be tightened right, to come back if the light went off again 😅🫣 turns out I had alot to learn about my car because my valves are rubber and he was a dafty that finished in 5 mins and couldn't be arsed clearly - he also sat in my car without a seat cover so left the seat and door covered in oil.

Went back a 2nd time as the tyre pressure light was still coming on and to get them to clean seat. The car was absolutely fine before they changed the tyre. Was then told it wasn't their fault, and I needed to go through the manufacturer.

I asked for an email with a run down of what they done to conclude it wasn't their fault and Gary told me it wouldn't make much difference????. After a bit of back n forth, he sent me an email only about my preferred tyre pressure. So I asked again for a run down of what they actually done and again got an email saying they checked the tyre pressure only.

My tyre pressure light still coming on, and I am having to go through Vauxhall to find out what national tyres have done to my car. I have spoke to multiple GIRLS who have had the exact same issue after getting a tyre changed at national, so I would avoid this place like the plague!!! Unless you enjoy driving about with your tyre pressure light on constantly and have all the time in the world to spend in garages 🥰🥰

customer service non existing

Booked my mot in through halfolds for 9.20am to find out it was a third party company called national tyres and auto care . First impression on arrival I had to listen to a disgruntal customer complaining about not being informed of work to be done on her car while three employees stood behind the desk . Eventually one ask if I needed help and i explained I had an appointment booked and apologised as i had been caught in
traffic and was running ten mins behind schedule. To which I got sorry you cancelled followed by an explanation how 10 mins added onto every car effects 10 mins onto his lunch brake. I was in no hurry
and was prepared to leave my car all day or even reschedule but after experiencing the cant be cared
attitude that my lunch is more
important than the customer. I wish
I read previous reviews before
booking here .there is deffinatley lack of training in front of house with customer service.

Nvisited Hamilton branch for free…1569012 398

visited Hamilton branch for free exhaust check.pleasant staff.But have to consider. Corsa d needs front pipe but recommended full system. I would agree on system. Would take 4 days?. At a whopping £565. Yes £565.
Took car back. Took to local garage. Will try partial but if full system needed £295 stainless steel.
Local garage completed for £215. Realy national tyres who else are you ripping off.no need to reply with your standard reply, national tyres off list for future

MOT - can't do the repair it failed on.

Booked car in for service and MOT. Failed MOT due to broken front springs which is fair enough. The problem is they cannot do the repair. Absolute waste of time going to National Tyres/Halfords for am MOT.
Staff were fine but for an MOT this company is not fit for purpose.

Totally unreliable

Arrived for my MOT that had been booked in well in advance to have it cancelled whilst I was stood in their office. Claimed they tried to call me on the 23rd to notify me despite me not having booked it until the 23rd was feed a stream of lies after this as they tried to claw back any sort of integrity. Fellas were extremely rude. Never apologised. This is the second year in a row they cancelled on me too. Gave them benefit of the doubt last year as I have had all 12 of my MOTs conducted there.

Regional manager phoned me saying it was out of order and admitted wrong doing but also didn’t offer me any sort of incentive to return. Really struggled to get in anywhere else at such short notice. Luckily the guys at farmers squeezed me in were horrified to hear of my experience at National, squeezed me in first thing next morning and threw in a few extras for me despite it not having been their issue to solve in the slightest. Still haven’t had a car service as money was taken from my account and had to wait until I had it back which took about 10 days and couldn’t afford to shell it all back out again so early into January.

I also started getting nuisance calls after this which also made me think the shifty boys at national have sold my information. Had several calls asking for my bank details for the mot refund despite being told by the regional manager that all of that had been processed. Extremely dodgy. Refused to give them and got my refund eventually so why on earth did I receive multiple calls about this from unmarked numbers. Clearly a scam. Won’t be returning. Most negative experience I’ve ever had with a brand. Criminal!!

A Total Shambles

Booked 2 cars in for services. Put my wife's in first on the Friday. On arrival and without even handing the keys over, I was asked to purchase an 'engine flush' for £20. Found this strange given it was in for a full service. The up-selling continued with a Halfords club offer which again was rejected before I eventually got to hand my keys over.
Then the real fun began. A few hours later I received a call, telling me that the 'mechanic' had snapped the sump plug during the oil change, but didn't know how it had happened? Things like'it just happened' and 'it was bizarre' and a 'freak accident' were stated. I'm no mechanic, but it was quite obvious what had happened.
It's a 2 year old BMW with 12,000 miles on the clock.
I was then told that my car wouldn't be ready for a further 5 days(Wednesday) as they had to wait on the new part coming in. I found this strange given there is a BMW parts/garage less than a mile from them. I asked if they could take it there as we needed the car back and couldn't do without it, given it was the week running up to Christmas and would be really inconvenient. They said the car couldn't be moved as it had no oil in it. They then told me I could come and get the car and take it there myself and get it fixed if I wanted to?! It had no oil in it and couldn't be moved 5 mins earlier.
It then transpired that they could get the part in on the Monday, but still couldn't get the repair done as in the managers own words "The only mechanic I have, that I can trust to work on your car is off until Wednesday".
An absolutely incredible statement to make to a customer, who has booked 2 cars into your garage for your mechanics to work on! There were several more in the garage on the day I took the car in.
From that point, it just went from bad to worse in terms of the content of the communications. The area manager even backed this statement up, after refusing via the garage manager to contact me. He only contacted me after a complaint to Halfords own customer services.
All calls were recorded to my knowledge, and some of the statements made and conversations had were bizarre to say the least. I could write a book. The lack of knowledge and awful customer service is the worst I've experienced.
As anyone would, I then went back onto my Halfords account and immediately cancelled both services. Why would I put my cars into a garage that has mechanics it can't trust to work on customers cars?
The following Thursday(day 6), I then received a call to tell me my car had been repaired and was ready to pick up. 1 1/2 hours later, I went to the garage with my wife to collect it, and unbelievably, it was still being worked on! I'd given up by that point.
Have tried 3 times to engage with the point of contact at Halfords Customer service since and have been ignored each time, so the 'we'll reach out' message that will follow this won't carry much weight.
What did they respond with as I got home? A notification telling me they were taking £210 out of my account for the pleasure of all of the above.
You couldn't make it up.
Untrustworthy, awful customer service and mechanically inept. Best avoided.

Shocking customer care and terrible…

Shocking customer care and terrible attitude at Almada Street Hamilton.

Too late for resolution - this was a second chance - lost business - competitor is just around the corner.
Have been good customers for many years but too late for any resolution - will not be back, nor my family. Terrible way to run a business !

I was quoted £163 plus£12for alinement…

I was quoted £163 plus£12for alinement to fit two front tyres on my car. When I went to pay I was told the bill was £202 when this was queeried Garry said this was the price I then had a discussion with him and the bill was reduced to £171.98 I paid the bill and left.
It was only when I got home I noticed on the invoice that the tyres fitted were not the ones ordered I then went back to the garage where Garry said they didnt have that tyre in stock and fitted this other tyre and said nothing could be done about it !!!!!

I always buy all my tyres for my three cars from National. The online service is very easy to navigate. The prices are always good. Sometimes I can get them slightly cheaper but I stick to National.
I've converted some other friends and family also use their services.
Service centre in Hamilton is very good and local. Mixed bunch of guys. Some really nice cheerful guys and really quite helpful.
The mobile delivery and fitting is simply excellent. The guy that attends at our house is simply fantastic. An excellent representative for the company doing an excellent job.
All good and will continue to use and recommend National.

Won’t be back.

If I could give zero stars I would. My car went in with warning lights on to be told I needed a new alternator after the same problem happened a year or so earlier. i was told then i needed a new battery. I was then told to take it to a garage around the corner for them to run a diagnostic they said it needed a new alternator. so I bring it back to national/halrids and they fit a new alternator. pick the car up after the garage is shut and low and behold the warning lights are back on. take it down to them the next day and i leave the car. they tell me they had run a battery check and a diagnostic and everything was fine. but they have booked the car in 5 days later to get the guy who fitted the alternator to check it over. so i take it down today and it’s not booked in. i asked them for the details of what they had done on the day it came back in. assistant manager said it hadn’t been booked in. so there is no recollection of the car being in and them doing work on it. no reports or anything. I then thought i would buy a reader to read the fault codes. 2 came up but according to the garage there’s nothing wrong. Both warning lights had been on before the alternator was changed. I was then told by the assistant manager i had 2 choices I let them fix it at a time that is totally not acceptable to me or they will pay for another garage to complete the work. Still waiting on that confirmation. Hopefully Someone on hear sorts this out. Absolutely shocking customer service and having spent £800 i’m no further forward.

Went to my local centre in Hamilton. Excellent service, great customer care. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable - no pushy "on-selling".

Arrogant, and exceptional poor quality service.

Poor quality of customer service at National Tyres and Autocare.

Appointment was booked for 8.30 am on the 11.08.23, and I was ignored untill 10.15 am, where I had to speak up and ask why I was still waiting for my tyres to be fitted.

James the manager tried to blame me for the delay using various excuses as to I was price matching, they did not have the key to I was on the phone. 1 hour and 30 mins to fit tyres, arrogant Manager, and not even a simple apology.

Therefore I will never return to any National Tyres and Autocare centre, or any company associated with them like Halfords etc. If i could give 0 stars I would.

Do not go near, if you value your time.
